Pretties DT Challege Wednesday!

I told all of you to come back later today, didn't I! This week I get to share a card I created using the soon to be released set Surf's Up and create a fun card based on Jana's sketch. This sketch was a lot of fun, I just had to do something super summery with it! Jana's cards are always so bright, and simple, so I decided to try to do the same thing, a few bright layers with just a simple sentiment and ribbon and I think it really works. If you haven't looked at the other Design Team members creations what is taking you so long! We have an extremely talented group of Ladies who really can create some fun cards, so get going and while your looking around just think of all the possible goodies you can create with these new stamps! The Paper Pretties Pajama Party and August release is coming on Friday night, so get ready, it is sure to be an amazing night filled with chatting and lots of fun!
Stamps: Surf's Up from Paper Pretties; Paper: Whisper White, PTI Summer Sunrise, SU Gable Green, DCWV the Summer Stack DP; Ink: B05 Process Blue, BG01 Aqua Blue, W3 Warm Cool Grey No. 3, Y17 Golden Yellow; Accessories: Green Grosgrain Ribbon

Beach Bum

Well, since this is sneak peak time (my favorite time of the month) I thought I should create a card for last weeks Pretties Weekly Challenge that Danielle hosts. Last week while I was away the challenge was all about using a picture of a beautiful quilt as inspiration for any creation. Taking that image as a stepping stone I used the color combination and the quilt like pattern in the background. I really love this stamp set Beach Bum, Cooper is so cute and fun...the little flippers, the tube, you just have to love all of it! I think he looks lovely in these colors as well, the colors go so nicely together, great challenge Danielle. If you have yet to stop by the Paper Pretties forum and participate in Danielle's challenges you don't know what your missing, this week its all about buttons....so get going gals! Don't forget that tomorrow is the Pajama Party and August's monthly release at Paper Pretties, your going to love it! Come back later tonight to see my creation for this weeks Design Team Challenge, Jana's sketch is so wonderful and it was great to try, make sure to check out the other Design Team members blogs, there are some great sneak peaks to be found!

Blue Slippers

Another weekend has come and gone to bring us to Monday, the day to go back to work....and the day that I share a Paper Pretties creation! This week I am using Bunny Slippers who will be released this Friday at the Paper Pretties Pajama Party, 8pm EST (7pm CST) so get ready boys and girls! The stamps that are coming your way are awesome, be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties Forum for some great challenges hosted by the one and only Charmaine, plus new stamps! What more could a girl ask for on a Friday night! I created this card not only to promote the Bunny Slippers stamp, but also to complete a card for Danielle's weekly challenge over in the Paper Pretties Forum. This week's challenge is all about using buttons, so I decided to use my buttons from Doodlebug as its own embellishment. I layered two buttons on top of one another and threaded organdy ribbon through the holes then tied a bow outside the hole...too cute, right!

Ladies there are two things to remember, so get ready...the Cutie Pie contest is back so get stamping ladies and create some cards to submit. You have until July 31st at 8pmCST to get your entries in, so get something ready and send it off to Christie for to decide!

Plus, this Thursday night is the deadline to sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club and receive Howdy Girl with your subscription. This stamp is so fun and great for just a Thinking of you card, so get on over to the Paper Pretties website and sign up pronto, when you sign up be sure to let Christie know that I sent you her way, it would be much appreciated.

Flower Frenzy

I went to visit family a little over a week ago and while there my Grandma asked me to 'update' the floral arrangement I had made for her 4 years ago (the last time I was there). So we took a ride to Hobby Lobby and got some more silk flowers to go within her dinning room, and after seeing what it was and now what it is I am happy with it. I am a huge rose person so I didn't want to change what I had already created, but after seeing how happy it made my Grandma it was well worth it. Hope you enjoy seeing a bit of something else I create 'in my spare time'.

I only have a few Whipper Snapper stamps, most of which I just bought, but I have a few images from Wish RAK on SCS. I as going through all the things I have posted in the past and I don't think I ever shared these two cards with you, so here we go! These two cards I created for a challenge I hosted over the 4th of July weekend where we all had a blast. I wanted to create two simple cards, so I hope you enjoy.

Sleep Sophia

I finally got the chance to ink up my Bunny Slippers from Paper Pretties and I just had to use her in this weeks Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! Charmaine challenged us to create a card using only one embellishment....AH! So I decided to use my new double sided satin ribbon (from the Paper Pretties store!) as my one embellishment. This ribbon is so much fun being red and orange, how can you go wrong! I used the colors from my DP to determine the coloring and papers for the card, and I like the way everything come together, its a little different, but fun! For the bows I made two separate bows then attached a small piece of ribbon to the DP and then adhered the bows to the ribbon strip, simple and cute. Now ladies, this is the July Stamp of the Month clubs stamp and it is wonderful, if you are interested in joining the club be sure to sign up, you have until July 30th to receive Howdy Girlfriend stamp!

Cropping!

Today I attended an all day swap at the store Stamping Yours in Clifton, NJ with several other ladies and we had a blast! I decided to create my crop card for all of you to see, I was a horrible cropper today. We had to create one project and one card, I was set on my project, the tile coasters I posted last week but I never created a sample for my card! I also had planned on putting together baggies filled with paper and goodies for each card, alas that also did not happen, to which I say I was a horrible cropper. On the plus side there were all sorts goodies to be created, prizes to win, stamping supplies to buy, and grab bags to enjoy. All of the ladies that attended were AMAZING! I can not wait until we do this again, it won't be in NJ (I think) but we will have a blast no matter where we are. I had to use paper pieceing, it is just one of my favorite techniques that I wanted to share and I think a few people got to try something new. Hope you enjoy my creation, I am sure you will be seeing pictures of the creations or pictures of some of the goodies I got here soon!

MFT Box

So this card is from the March MFT Paper Pretties box, which was a while ago, but I had never created the card, so here it is! I love the bright pink paper and the great green shades used in this card. One of my favorite part of the kits is seeing how other people coordinate their creations, it gives me ideas on how I should put things it also allows me to try a bunch of different products from different companies without having to take the time to research everything on my own. Paper Pretties no longer has a subscription plan for these boxes but there are still some available to order in the store, and let me tell you, I love them. Now Paper Pretties offers the Stamp of the Month Club, and if you haven't signed up yet you are missing some great stamps! The perks of the Club is that the stamps arrive at your door before anyone else can even order them, how great is that! If you decide to sign up please let Christie know I sent you her way, she would love to hear from you!

Ice Cream Time!

I have been going through withdrawal from the wonderful card kits that have been showing up on my doorstep from Christie with Paper Pretties so I have been searching for another place to get kits from. I have always loved trying new products and different products and receiving kits makes the possible. So this past week C.C. Designs released new stamps and with their new stamp set they released a kit that features that stamp set, I saw it and just had to order! Not only did I get the full set but I also got a great color instruction set with 5 possible cards to create, I decided to follow the instructions and create one!

Scrapbooking Queen

I have one more Paper Pretties Pajama Party Challenge creation to share with you! The last challenge issued by Charmaine was to create a scrapbook and as soon as I heard what the challenge was only one picture came to mind....me on the beach in Mexico! I look just like Sophia from the Soakin Up the Sun set, love it! I cut out the tree image in the set and used this really cute palm tree paper I found, works perfectly and the pink makes it all pop. A simple page, but it has a lot of punch. Thanks again for stopping by!

High Hopes Hippo

I recieved this image as a Wish RAK and I just love it. I ordered a bunch of High Hopes stamps but I haven't inked any up, so seeing this one inked I just had to color! I pulled the supplies I received in my last Paper Pretties Kit and got to work. I love this DP and the colors, then the brown works well with it all....just love it! I used a few shades of teal in the ink and paper to get the tones right then I used a few shades of gray to get the hippos coloring. Thank you for stopping by to look!

Trash to Treasure!

This week Jules is hosting the Paper Pretties Design Team challenge! I love doing these Design Team challenges and this one was hard for me to come up with something at first, but I love the final product. Jules issued a challenge to the Pretties Girls to take a disposable household item and make it something new, so I took a canister that holds prunes, you those SunSweet 'Ones' container is behind all this paper. I forgot that I had saved the container with the intention of doing something with it and this challenge was the perfect opportunity! I used PTI Everyday Blessings DP which I just love and some great shear May Arts ribbon I ordered a while ago from one of Jody's shares. Then I used my Regular and Scalloped Long Rectangle Nestabilities. I just love this shape, it makes the Cuddle Me stamp look so regal. Enjoy!

Singing Magnolias

I posted a Magnolia creation this weekend from the Club Kit that I signed up for the entire year. The summer Kit came with 6 angles and all sorts of stamps to create a surrounding environment, and I just had to use another one! This one is called Guitar Edwin and I just love him! I wanted to go for a masculine card with this one, we can't have Edwin looking all girlie! So to do that I pulled out my Basic Grey paper and found my Archain 6x6 paper pad...I love that too! The entire pad is full of prints that are more neutral or masculine than girlie, which I definitely need guy cards. I used two different techniques to shade Edwin's shirt to show the difference between the two, the sleeves of his shirt are shaded with two colors after the first color has dried, where as the body of the shirt was shaded while the first color was still wet on the paper. Depending on which you use determine the look you get on the paper while using Copic markers. I've been testing out techniques with these markers as I get to use them more and I am loving all the different things I am discovering. I hope you enjoy seeing another new stamp from Magnolia Stamps, these stamps are just sweet and I had to give in, I am horrible at that if you couldn't tell.

A Sketch That is Simple...

So its almost time for family vacation to visit more family! Wednesday I am flying in to Kansas to visit a mass of family, I will be away until next Tuesday so I am creating things and scheduling these things to post for you every day. If all goes well you should get to see some different cards using different companies that I have been working on recently, today its a wonderful sketch challenge from Danielle. Danielle posts challenges every week over at the Paper Pretties forum and this week is all about dividing, or at least that's my take on it. I used the Simply Special set and some fun papers to create a cute card. Enjoy!

Sunday Crafting

Today I created a fun coaster that will be my project for the Shoebox swap I will be attending next Monday. There is a group of us getting together in a LSS to have a great day of projects and card making. We each have to get together two things to make, my first being a Sophia card, and my second being these. Are these too cute or what?! I subscribed to Magnolia's Club for the year so that means that four times this coming year stamps will arrive on my door step, and my first group arrived! This stamp is so cute and summery, I had to use it as soon as possible. Hope you like!

Color Howdy

So this is a little late, but I still had to give Danielle's color combo challenge a go! Last week on the Paper Pretties Forum Danielle posted a challenge called 'Oh So Pretty In Pink' to use Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Creamy Caramel and White of course I couldn't find my Regal Rose CS so I used Rose Red instead, I think it turned out pretty close. I decided to pull out my Paisely Cuttlebug Embossing folder on my Creamy Caramel CS and then sponged some color onto the raised pieces with the Rose Red ink pad. Then I decided to use my Large Oval Scalloped Nestabilities and my Regular Large Oval Nestabilities to layer the main image 'Howdy Girlfriend' from Paper Pretties. This set is the August Stamp of the Month from Paper Pretties and she is totally cute but you can only get her in August if you sign up now, so be sure to do so! If you do decide to sign up so you can get these cute stamps sent to your doorstep be sure to tell Christie that I sent you her way. Hope you like today's creation, enjoy!

Show Off!

I still have creations to share with you from the Paper Pretties release party on July 1st. Charmaine hosted three great challenges and this card I created for challenge number two which was to use your High School colors for your card. My High School colors were dark blue, light blue, black and gray/silver. I love how this card came out, I didn't use any embellishments to show that you don't always need embellishments on your creations! I have a huge list of challenges I want to do, so hopefully I can get one or two done this weekend. I will be visiting family next week from Wednesday until the following Monday (the 22nd) so I will be trying to schedule posts for all of next week, if it works you should like everything!

I have almost all of sets offered from Verve Stamps but I don't ink them up often enough, so I am going to try and play along with these new challenges every week, of course we will see how long that lasts! This week Shannan issued a color challenge to use Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, So Saffron, and Chocolate Chip. Hope you enjoy!

Pretties Wednesday!

Wednesday is here again so that means another wonderful Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! Two weeks ago Christie issued us a challenge to create a green and white card so I set out to do just that. After using my Sealed with a Kiss set earlier this week I realized that I had not used Love Bug for a creation recently, so that set was due up for some inking! I picked three of my favorite Copic greens and started coloring the main image. Then I added a light gray line around both images to make them pop a bit off the paper, add a bit of dimension. Now, I know most people think Copics are a fad and so forth, but I have used many different types of mediums, and so far Copics are my favorite, they have outstanding colors and once you adjust to how they work your images turn out looking great. I will say it did take some time for me to get used to these markers, but now that I have I am loving them! So since today is a Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge its time for some Paper Pretties updates! This past weekend Jules posted a great product review on ribbon sliders, be sure to check it out, I have a few ribbon sliders but I always forget to pull them out! Plus, since these products were reviewed that means its time for a Pretties Sale! All ribbon sliders are 25% off for the entire month of July! You can't beat that! While you are browsing the store make sure to check out the Copic selection (that's right Christie has Copics available!) and the Stamp of the Month Club! Enjoy your Wednesday everyone, I'll be posting again soon!

MFT Monthly Guest Designer Challenge

This months Guest Designer Challenge from MFT is to create a birthday card for Kim. This month is not only My Favorite Things Birthday, but also Kim's! I got to thinking about it and decided that whatever card I created for this challenge I would give to my mom for her birthday, which is coming up on the 22nd. I really had a lot of fun with this challenge, such a simple challenge that I tried to do the most with. I love how this card came together, the paper, the embellishments, sometimes everything just works. Hope you enjoy my creation.

Suspension!

Well today is all about trying a new technique over at SCS and the technique of the day is suspension cards! I have made a few but I don't think they have ever been posted on here, I created a Happy Anniversary card using the set Sealed with a Kiss set from Paper Pretties. I used supplies from one of the MFT monthly kits I received a while ago and still have plenty of goodies left! One side of the circle is a cute box of chocolates and on the other side is a ring, super fun! Lets you roll to see what you get, great way to celebrate a Anniversary. I finished off the card with a simple sheer bow, hope you enjoy!

While at the Paper Pretties Pajama Party Charmaine issued three wonderful challenges and I thought I should share them with you. The first challenge of the night was follow a super cute sketch that Charmine designed for us. To be honest there is no way would could have created a bad card with this challenge! I loved the sketch and I decided that Lexi from the set Made With Love was perfect for this sketch. I pulled out some fun DP and some bling to put together a simple but classy card. Hope you enjoy, thank you for stopping by!

Pretties Wednesday!

A bit later that I wanted to post it, but here is my creation for this weeks Pretties Weekly Challenge! Two weeks ago Danielle posted a challenge for to use circles on our card, I decided to use some of my Nestabilities to create the fun card. Then after picking the colors and shape I realized that there was only one possibly stamp to use....Off to School Sophia! She was released last night at the Paper Pretties Pajama Party along with the Soakin Up the Sun set I have been sharing the last few days. I love this colors combination of Berry Sorbet and So Saffon it looks great together, allowing each to pop a different way. I really like Sophia with red hair, I don't know why but this image really seems to work with a red haired Sophia. Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girls creations for this challenge, I loved everything I saw today!

Pretty Bow Tutorial

Last night was the Paper Pretties release and Pajama Party and we had a blast! Towards the end of the night we go to talking about making bows and how hard it can be to get the perfect bow every time.I posted last weekend that my SU! Demo taught us last Saturday night how to create a perfect bow every time by using a fork, so I promised to post a tutorial on the technique....so here we go!First you need a four pronged fork and a long piece of ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the fork, prongs pointing towards you. Then take the left side of the ribbon and pull it over the fork, then pick up the right side piece and thread the ribbon through the center two prongs over the piece of ribbon.Next pull it tight, and move the ribbon up on the fork. Then thread the piece of ribbon left on your side through the center two prongs, under the piece of ribbon already threaded through the two center prongs.Flip the fork over so that both ends of the ribbon are pointing towards you. Then take both ends and tie a knot, tightly.Once you have adjusted your bow and sides so the ribbon lays straight slip the bow off of the fork. Trim the sides to the appropriate length and attach to any card! Simple, and after a few tries you learn pretty quickly. I think its a neat way to get a smaller bow, but beware of the width of your piece of ribbon, if it is too wide the fork may be too small. Be sure to stop by tonight for my card for the Wednesday Pretties Challenge and stay tuned over the next few days I will be posting my Pajama Party creations!

This is the Life

Seriously! I want to be Sophia, lounging around all day looks like a great idea to me! Today's sneak peak features Sophia from the main image in the set, Soak Up the Sun, to be released tonight over at the Paper Pretties Forum. I really do love this image and I just had to feature Miss Sophia in all her glory! I used the sketch Danielle posted in the Paper Pretties forum as the weekly challenge. If you did not know every week Danielle posts a wonderful challenge in the forum for everyone to give a try, this weeks sketch looked like so much fun I had to give it a go and this Sophia image is just perfect as the focal point of the entire card. I also love this paper I picked up this Friday night at A.C. Moore and let me tell you it was well worth the trip to the store! This paper along with several other designs from this line were in clearance and I had to grab some knowing that this cute set was being released! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girls blogs for more sneak peaks today and stop by the Paper Pretties Forum at 8pm EST to be a part of the Pajama Party, its sure to be a blast!
