A little Verve Goes a Long Way...

I still have cards to post from the Anni-Verve-sary....lol. That's right here are two more creations from all those great sketch challenges that Julee issued. I love the ribbon I used with the first one, the overall all colors seem to work well together, I like to pair light and dark colors when I get the chance.
This next card I wanted to be simple and clean, quick lines in an organized manner. I was also able to use some of the papers from the previous challenges, a girl has got to use those scraps when ever she can! Hope you liked the chance to see some more sketch challenges, I can't wait to see all of you Monday night, Paper Pretties, be there!

Leaves Falling

Today is Wednesday so that means its Pretties Wednesday! Today's card challenge was issued by Danielle to make a shaker card. I pulled out my Falling for You Sophia, October's Stamp of the Month Club stamp, if you haven't signed up yet make sure to stop by the Paper Pretties page and learn more. If you do sign up, you know you want to, let Christie know that I sent you her way. For the shaker I used some fall confetti I found in the craft store and some yellow glass beads, for the shaker part I used some of the foam sticky strip I bought through Jody in one of her bulk buys. I wanted to use some fun fall paper, but I couldn't find anything I liked until I remembered that I received a paper grab bag and started digging. Unfortunatly I do not know which company this paper is from but I just love it! I hope to see you all in the Paper Pretties forum on Monday night for our Pajama Party and Howdy Girlfriend stamp release, its going to be a blast! You also have until August 31st to submit your entry for the Cutie Pie Contest, be sure to get those creations in!

Pretty in Pink

As you can tell I am going through a color stage right now, today its all about pink! This is a lovely Magnolia stamp, called Tilda with Lace Skirt and she is just precious! A few months ago I signed up for the Seasonal Stamp Club from Magnolia and this little girl arrived on my door step in my summer kit. I love fun and cute images and these definitely work, a quick way to create a cute and fun card. Hope you liked today's card, tomorrow is Pretties Wednesday so that means its shaker card time!

Pretty Purple Pretties

So today begins a new week, that's right today is Monday, so that means Paper Pretties! This weekend I got the chance to create a few different altered items for a fun swap on SCS, I can't share any of them yet since the person who I sent these goodies has not yet opened there box, but I can say that I had a lot of fun creating. While creating I used this paper from Paper Trey called the Guide Lines Collection and I loved this pattern. I decided that today's card must use this paper so I dug through my Paper Pretties stamps and pulled out the great stamp Flutterby, featuring Miss Sophia in all of her glory! I used several different shades of purple with this card, the Lavender Moon which is the light purple and Plum Pudding which is a darker shade. Hope you enjoyed today's card! I had a lot of fun creating it!

Sketched Shapes

How about some more sketches?! I really do enjoy creating cards based on a sketch, I don't know why but sketches seem to be inspiring for some reason, it my be my architecture training but who knows. Here are two more cards I created for the Anni-Verve-sary earlier this month, these two cards are my favorite from all 12 that I created, the colors are some of my favorite and I just love how the overall cards came together. The first card I wanted to make the center image come in and out of focus so I used a marker and colored in the sprials using two different shades to get the desired effect. In the card below I used the stars that for some reason intimidate me, and they just look so great layered....don't you just love these stars!Today I went shopping and picked up a few items I plan on altering for the next Paper Pretties release, and I can't wait! Hope you all had a wonderful day! I am off to create, have a great Sunday all!
First Card - Stamps: filigree fantasy; Paper: Basic Grey Perhaps DP, Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, Whisper White; Ink: Pretty In Pink, Rose Red; Accessories: Celery Brads

Catching Up!

So I have a few things to share with everyone today, two creations from the last Paper Pretties Pajama Party and a blogging award! A fellow 'Ho' Gabby from Confessions of a Stamper awarded me a blogging award, how cool is that! I am horrible at nominating people, so please let me know if you would like an award, I can never decide these things. Thank you very much Gabby, if you have not visited her blog yet be sure to do so, I love her cards! Today she posted her first Magnolia card and it is just too cute!On to the Paper Pretties Pajama Party! We will be hosting a Pajama Party with three wonderful challenge to be hosted by Charmain on the 1st of September. We will be releasing our wonderfully cute Howdy Girlfriend stamp, the August Stamp of the Month, to the general public so you are going to want to place that order if you are not a member of the SoTHC yet. Our monthly release will be later in the month, that date is still to be determined. Above is one of the cards I created for the August Pajama Party challenge, the issued challenge was to create a black and white card with a 'splash' of color. So being the 'smart' person that I am I actually added splashes!Doesn't Copper look ready to party! I created this party favor based on the issued challenge which was to create something for a party. Since the August releases were all about the summer, I created a party favor for a kids pool party, I know if I went to a pool party and got some goodies that looked so bright I would look at it admiringly then tear it open, but it may make a child pause for a second or two. Hope you enjoy this look back, I had a blast at last months Pajama Party and the September Pajama Party is sure to be even better, so join us!

Pretties Ablum!

Its Paper Pretties Wednesday so today is all about Joni's challenge. Two weeks ago Joni, our fabulous illustrator, challenged the Prettie Girls to create a mini album, so after a little consideration I decided to create a coaster album following a wonderful SCS tutorial. I wanted to use some fun fall colors and I was able to use our wonderful Falling For You Sophia who is the September Stamp of the Month. If you have yet to sign up for Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month club what are you waiting for! These images are all super cute, you can't go wrong!Today is my turn to challenge the other Prettie Girls, so after putting on my thinking cap I decided that I would love to see all of the Prettie Girls create their own decorative paper and then use that paper as the main card element and in paper piecing. I have become addicted to finding new fun papers, but nothing is better than creating your own paper, and using it in paper piecing makes it all the more fun. I can't wait to see what the girls come up with! Be sure to drop by the other Pretties Girls to see their mini albums for this weeks challenge.

Edited to add: I just wanted to thank of the Pretties Girls for throwing me a killed virtual party...you are the best! I loved seeing all the great party creations, thank you ladies!

Last week I participated in the Verve celebration for hitting the one year mark. Big congrats to the Verve Divas for all the amazing sketches, quotes, and creations. I had a blast trying to completed all 12 sketches and I am thrilled to say that I completed all 12 cards and made the deadline. I was lucky enough to win one of the amazing quote sets called Beautiful You at the release party...go me! Since they arrived yesterday in the mail I thought I would share some of the cards I created for the release. Julee creates amazing sketches every week and the pre-release party had 12 amazing sketches and I was thrilled to play along.

You Go Girl!

Another Monday has come which means some Paper Pretties fun! If you haven’t noticed yet, Monday is my Paper Pretties day when I try to create at least one card or item using Paper Pretties stamps. Today I was going back and forth on what to create, there were a few choices and I decided to support our Pretties Girl Jessie and participate in the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. This weeks Featured Stamper is Jessie! Way to go girl! I decided to use her card Flamingos are birds....right?? as inspiration for my creation. In order to participate in these weekly challenges you need to select one item from the Featured Stamper’s Gallery to use as inspiration. Of course there are a few rules for this challenge and to state a quick summary, you need to change at least 2 things on the card you CASE. So I changed the colors, switched the light color with the dark, changed the main image, removed a sentiment, and turned the sketch on itself.

I also wanted to let you know that there is a Paper Pretties Sale going on and if you are like me you LOVE sales! Here are all the details to the Back to School Sale at Paper Pretties:

Hello There!

I had a blast yesterday wondering around NYC but it made me so tired! I have no idea how much we walked, but I know that my feet hurt and that I enjoyied every minute of it. The weather was perfect for the trip, there was a nice breeze coming off the water and Central Park was beautiful. We went to the NYC Post Office across the street from Penn Station that will soon be demolished to make way for a new station, but some of the facade will remain....awwww. We then walked at least half of Central Park, ending up on some hiking paths. We were supposed to ride this really cool balloon, unfortunatly they only take four people up at a time for a ten minute ride, by the time we got there we would have had to wait until around 4pm to ride, pending the wind since they do not bring the balloon up if its too windy. Oh well, maybe next time then! As we were leaving the Park we found this really cool bridge, how cool does this look! After our park adventure we had a lovely brunch and then some ice cream. The we made our way to the south west part of Manhattan and walked to the Brooklyn Bridge to see the three man made waterfalls which looked so neat. It really was a lovely trip and it was great to see Alice again. We had a great time. Thank you for all the brithday wishes, your all the best!

Happy Birthday to Me!

That's right! Today was my 24th Birthday and in celebration of this big day I am spending tomorrow in NYC with my best friend, it should be great. We have plans to see a few buildings that are old and are up to be taken down for an expansion project, take a air balloon ride, have lunch, and see a waterfall! It should be great, I am looking forward to it. Then I am going home to spend time with my guy to buy golf clubs, thats right I am going to try to take up golf to spend some time with my man. Wish me luck!
Thought I should share a card I created for a secret sister from a while ago using my Gina K stamps...enjoy!

Pretties Wednesday

Well, I am a bit late in posting this, but I just love this card! Jessie issued a Design Team Challenge to create a card with three embellishments...my first reaction was OMG...but after working at this card, I think three is the perfect number! I wanted to use some embellishments that are my staples so I went with some ribbon, brads, and a colored metal spiral clip. Together all three things seem to work well together, and surprisingly the colors seem to work together, I am still a bit unsure about the decorative paper I used, but I think it all came together thanks to those three embellishments....that Jessie really knows what its all about! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girls to see what they created, the cards this week have been fab!

Maisy and Daisy

Isn't this card cute?! I finally dug out my Chiciboulie stamps from Stamping Bella and created a card for Michele's swap on SCS. I have been using this color comination a few times recently and I am loving it, the green paper and the bright pink seems to work well together. I also got a chance to use some of the fun ribbon and dew drops that was sent to me from Heidi, my DSS this round on SCS, thank you Heidi! Enjoy...have a great weekend! I hope to share a few more Verve cards and a Pretties!

Falling For You

Today is all about Paper Pretties Wednesday! This week we get to share a card we created for Jodi's challenge, and what a challenge it was! She issued the challenge to create a 3 x 3 card, I love little tags and regular sized cards, but something about the 3 x 3 size seems to get to me, not enough space or too much it seems. I think that my creation with Sophia from the Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month Club, Falling for You, for the month of September came out wonderfully! if you would like this little lady to show up on your door step in September be sure to join the club and tell Christie that I sent you her way, you are going to love this club! This stamp set will not be released to the general public until October, so don't wait, go sign up for this cutie! Hope you enjoy my little card, thanks Jodi for your great challenge!

Did You See?

Last night Gina K. from Gina K. Designs explained the new Guest Designer selection process, and I think its a great idea! Each month one person will be selected to join the Design Team and participate with the other Design Team members in an entire months festivities...how neat is that! All you have to do to enter is post your creations using Gina K. Designs, how super simple is that, in fact I already do that! So to that point I decided to check and see if I have shared all of my creations with everyone, and I realize there are a few things I haven't posted yet, so here we go!
This card I created for one of Joanne B's fun swaps, all we had to do was create a card using one of the beautiful Kindred Spirit stamps, this one uses Rebecca. I went with a simple layout to make the image pop more and dots! There are dots on the background and on the satin ribbon, enjoy!
