Pretty in Pink

As you can tell I am going through a color stage right now, today its all about pink! This is a lovely Magnolia stamp, called Tilda with Lace Skirt and she is just precious! A few months ago I signed up for the Seasonal Stamp Club from Magnolia and this little girl arrived on my door step in my summer kit. I love fun and cute images and these definitely work, a quick way to create a cute and fun card. Hope you liked today's card, tomorrow is Pretties Wednesday so that means its shaker card time!

Singing Magnolias

I posted a Magnolia creation this weekend from the Club Kit that I signed up for the entire year. The summer Kit came with 6 angles and all sorts of stamps to create a surrounding environment, and I just had to use another one! This one is called Guitar Edwin and I just love him! I wanted to go for a masculine card with this one, we can't have Edwin looking all girlie! So to do that I pulled out my Basic Grey paper and found my Archain 6x6 paper pad...I love that too! The entire pad is full of prints that are more neutral or masculine than girlie, which I definitely need guy cards. I used two different techniques to shade Edwin's shirt to show the difference between the two, the sleeves of his shirt are shaded with two colors after the first color has dried, where as the body of the shirt was shaded while the first color was still wet on the paper. Depending on which you use determine the look you get on the paper while using Copic markers. I've been testing out techniques with these markers as I get to use them more and I am loving all the different things I am discovering. I hope you enjoy seeing another new stamp from Magnolia Stamps, these stamps are just sweet and I had to give in, I am horrible at that if you couldn't tell.

Sunday Crafting

Today I created a fun coaster that will be my project for the Shoebox swap I will be attending next Monday. There is a group of us getting together in a LSS to have a great day of projects and card making. We each have to get together two things to make, my first being a Sophia card, and my second being these. Are these too cute or what?! I subscribed to Magnolia's Club for the year so that means that four times this coming year stamps will arrive on my door step, and my first group arrived! This stamp is so cute and summery, I had to use it as soon as possible. Hope you like!

Going Black and White

Every now and then when my new stamps come in I get all excited and share my new rubber with my family. My Mom and Sister especially love to see what I am creating up in my room so I update them on not only my new supplies but also my newest creations. This past weekend I was showing my mom these super cute Magnolia stamps that I ordered from Dream Cottage (main website for these great stamps) and she loved this particular image, Tilda in France. In fact she looked at it for a while then said this image would look great on a black and white card, do you think that sounds good? I would love to see something.....so I got coloring! I used two greys to create the tones in this image and I think it really works. The greys I used were C1 and C7 from Copics and to be honest it was all I needed, to get darker tones I put layers of ink and the really dark areas I used the C7 for. Hope you like this card as much as I do, my mom issued an amazing challenge, I will have to let you know her thoughts on the final creation!

Baking Tilda!

Today I decided to give one of the 'Friday Sketchers' sketches a shot. A few weeks ago a group of ladies from all over the globe started a blog that features sketches every Friday. Not only do they post a great sketch to try each week, but they also share their creations and randomly draw one participants name to win some great stamping prizes. I hope you like my entry for this week, I was able to use some paper from my great paper stash sent my way from Christie at Paper Pretties and a few of my Primas. I also created a few other cards today that I will post over the next week so stop by, you may even see a Father's Day card coming in the mix!

Make it New Again

Its Pretties Wednesday! Jillian's challenge from two weeks ago was to make it new again, take a stamp that was one of yours first and create something. Well....I decided that since I have not been exploring all of my stamp lines that I should do so and the line that I seem to be using the least at the moment is my Magnolia's. So this card is created from a stamp that was from my first order of three Magnolia stamps. I love this line but I never seem to have a chance to play with them! Isn't this image adorable! Perfect for the weather we have been having in New Jersey too....hot, humid and gross! Do you love the Primas? I picked them up last ngiht at Michael's and I love them! They come in these super cute and jam packed tins of flowers! Hope you enjoy!

Tilda

I still have a large amount of stamps that I have yet to ink up, but I am trying to get those images stamped out as much as I can. I colored in this adorable Tilda from Magnolia Stamps on Monday and it has taken until now to actually complete this card, but its done! I used some of the cute Prima flowers that I own and never seem to use as well as one of the new sets from PaperTrey Garden of Life for the background on this card. I love how this card came out, not colors I typically use but they really seem to work well together. I also love how my shading really came out on this card, I seem to be improving on my Copic marker skills and I am thrilled. Like anything practice makes perfect, so maybe one day I will reach near perfect with these markers. I have been asked by a few people where I get my Copics from so I thought I would let you know. I joined Gina K. Copic club, from which I a getting the entire Copic Ciao Box "D". I have also ordered some of the Copic Sketch markers from electricPaperie, eBay (not my favorite but typically cheaper), and most recently my Copic Ciao markers have been coming from Hanna Stamps. There are many places to order these markers from, but I try to look for the larger varieties and the best price, if I am close with an order to be eligible for free shipping I look around...always a sucker for free shipping. Sister Sweets

I hope you all had a wonderful week, I know I did. I am looking forward to hearing about the CHA news and the two big releases next week both PaperTrey and Gina K. are releasing new stamps and goodies, what more can one have to look forward to?! Kimmie’s birthday celebration is almost over, she has posted her last challenge so I have three more challenges to create cards for, but I am so there! So I have a question for you ladies! How many stamp companies do you follow? I don’t mean which companies do you order stamps from every now and then I mean actually follow. I would love hear what you have to say and maybe, just maybe I will select a person randomly to get a 'Sister Sweets' from me *wink wink*.
