A Bit of SU!

I never share any of my SU! cards, so I thought today I should do so. About once a month I get together with some wonderful local ladies for a group that we call 'KIT Club'. In fact I've been a member of this group for a few years now, one of the ladies is a demp and she always designs the nicest cards and projects for us to try out. These are some of the things we made a few months ago, we have all been so busy that we haven't seen each other recently, but I can't wait for the next 'meeting'. Hope you enjoy today's cards!

A Little Baby Fun

I was going through all my pictures and I realized that I had yet to share with you all the fun things I created for Jana when we heard she was expecting. The Pretties Girl's decided that we should either buy or create something for her and the baby as well as create a two page scrapbook layout. I decided to buy a few fun onesies and get to work stamping some fun kiddie images on them. I went with these little frogs, fishes, and an elephant from Paper Trey, as well as this adorable baby tin and washcloths to finish off the package! Don't these look adorable! Then it was time to try a fun two page spread for the 6x6 album all the Pretties Girl's pages would be able to fill. I rarely scrapbook anything anymore, but when I do I have so much fun! Baby pages are always a lot of fun to create!Christie was so nice to send us all the same papers so that our 6x6 pages would all flow together nicely in a cute little 6x6 scrapbook. I used my fun Baby First set from SU! (one of my all time favorite baby sets) and this adorable stickers I found for baby! I really did have a lot of fun laying out these pages, I missed it to be honest.
Plus, no present is complete without a fun baby card! I made this card using the fun Gina K set How Sweet it is, I love the images and the simplicity of this set. Hope you like this set of goodies today, I had forgotten all about the fact that I still had images to share with you from these goodies!

KIT Club

Last Saturday my SU! Demo hosted our KIT Club meeting and we had a blast. I thought I would share with you two of the three cards we created at the meeting. They aren't so much my style but I had a lot of fun getting together with the girls and chatting it up while stamping a bit. The first card we used watercolor crayons and paint brushes to add a little bit of color as we went, I like how light the image came out and how crisp the final card is. The second card we used markers and colored pencils again for a watered down look to the image. We also used a fork to create the super cute little bow on this card. Definitely something different but a lot of fun to try! We also did one more card that I think I will share this weekend or next week sometime. Tomorrow I am going to post my March Paper Pretties Premium Bella Box card both the card from the kit and my own version, so stay tuned ladies! More to come!

Some more SU!

Last night was a meeting with K.I.T. Club and I had a blast. There are a few ladies who get together every month or so to create some fun cards and goodies. Last night I demoed (no I am not a Demo) how to create a Criss-Cross Card. I created a sample on Thursday night but I didn't like the colors and I wanted to create the same card in shades of blue instead, so I cleared it with my Demo to make sure she had the right papers and made my way to her house. When I got there I showed the ladies the sample and told them we would be doing the same card in blues, but they wanted to make the card they had in their hand using So Saffron and Certainly Celery. So change of plans, we went with the first card I created. The first picture is the card we created last night, using Very Vanilla as the card base and the Polka Dot and Paisley set from SU! One side of the cross is DP from SU! and the other is stamped with the flower and the dots from the set.
This is a picture of the two cards I created, the one to the back is the card I originally created and the one on top is the one we made last night. So what do you think? Is it springy like they said it is....or is it too pale? I thought it was too pale, but people obviously have different opinions.

SU! New Catty

Ladies I have not used a SU! set in ages, nor have I bought anything from SU! in a while, I've been off exploring the wonders of other stamp companies, as you have seen. Last night my Demo (she is great!) had a catalogue release party where we made these two cards and a picture frame that we added rub-ons to. We used a few of the 'In Colors' this time, and I have to say I liked them a lot more than I thought I would. This first card is simple, but elegant at the same time. In fact I liked this card so much I almost bought the set, but I showed some restraint and purchased Lovely As A Tree and the Word Window punch....oops! I also picked up some of my Demos retired sets at a discount, which is always a good thing.
I really like this second card and to that effect, the colors are great! Simple embellishments and a simple layout, but I like it. I still have some mixed feelings about the new Catty, but I'm sure once I look through it few times my mind will change. Hope you all have a great weekend, and be sure to come back, I am making another Hanna card for a card contest one of the PaperPretties girls is holding.

World Card Making Day!

This is late.....so late! Well I mentioned that I went to my Demo's for a WCMD celebration but I didn't share any of the cards we made. She had 8 different cards set up in four baskets. Each basket had two different cards, one Birthday and one Holiday per basket. Now the best part of these cards were that the used the same supplies, paper, and colors to create two very different cards. I loved the idea, plus since I told her early that I was coming I got to make two additional cards for free! I choose to make two cards from some old cards she had demoed for a stamping stack earlier this month. I sent many of the cards I made to the PP card swap and one out to my DSS, so here are the ones I have yet to use. These are all made with two colors being Bashful Blue and Bravo Burgundy and all SU! supplies. Enjoy....

Here is the additional card I made, it was so simple! I rolled the Jumbo Wheel over some Versamark and embossed the image with Black embossing powder. This card uses one of the In Colors and I love it! I would never have thought to use Groovy Guava as a Halloween card.

More Cards!

Well, since the due date is soon the Christmas cards will be starting to slow down. I am going to a WCMD event that my Demo is hosting this weekend where she has designed 8 different cards and I know that 4 of the 8 are Holiday cards. Today I only used my PaperTrey sets, the new sets are just so much fun! Plus today was another great mail day. I received the brads I ordered through Heidi (pinkhedgehog @ SCS), her bog link is on the side, these brads are great! I also received the new My Favorite Things stamps that I ordered on Monday. I can't believe they already arrived! I hope to try the sets out when I get a chance, they are so great!A super simple elf card, just lots of layers but cute anyway.I love this set! PaperTrey did an excellent designing this set. I also love blue as a holiday card, so serene.Another layout with this super set. There are so many options for what you can do with the 'Take a Bough' set, all different pieces to create specialized ornaments. Wonderful!
I think that this card is my favorite of all the cards I have created. I dug out my Blitzen DP and I love it! If you look really close you can see little reindeer in this decorative paper. Love it!

Just a few....and News!

You know how I told you I won a challenge from the Bellaholics weekend, well my prize has arrived! Em sent me a Bella Bindah plus inserts for it! My Bellas are loving the new house, it is the best! I honestly don't know why I didn't buy one for myself earlier. LOVE it!

Now its time for some new Christmas cards, these are due soon so I will be sending (I hope 40) cards for the Paper Pretties charity card drive. These 5 bring my current total to 36, so I know at least 36 card will soon be postal!Isn't this elf adorable, I love the style of this set. This card is classy, I used my Brilliance Inks and the 'Tough Branch' set from PaperTrey. Doesn't this card just work well together!Another example with these cute elves! Plus the fun background paper!I don't know what happened to this card. I started with a nice stamped scene of ornaments and silver and it ended up sort of puzzle like. So let me know what you think about this one, I'm a bit unsure about it really.

I really like this card, I think the colors work and the silver is a great touch. I really love the new PaperTrey sets!

Christmas time...

I hope you enjoyed the break from my Christmas cards, I know you may have been looking for more holiday cards, but how could I resist my new Paper Pretties goodies! Trust me, the best feeling is seeing that white box sitting and waiting for you to open it up and see what fun is in store! If you haven't signed up for one of the wonderful Paper Pretties boxes yet, I highly recommend anything that Christie offers. She has more heart than most people and she creates some excellent cards to enjoy with goodies galore. So run on over to Paper Pretties and sign up today! And tell her Jackie sent you!

Now....Christmas continues! I am happy to report that the card count is now up to 30 cards! I should be able to get at least 10 more done by the postal date. So stay tuned for more cards. Tonight I created cards from a bunch of images I had stamped and began coloring this weekend but I wasn't able to complete a card with any of them. I have so many more images colored and ready to go, but I think I've had enough stamping and creating for tonight. Enjoy!
Isn't this Elf adorable? This set is called 'Santa's Helper' and is an older set from SU! I love this image, there are a few more that I should be able to create some fun cards with soon.

The cute little kids are a lot of fun as well. All bundled up and enjoying their ride, whats not to love? This set is called 'Winter Play' which is also retired, both sets I borrowed from my demo Alex, who is not only my demo but also a close friend.Another PaperTrey Santa from the new 'Believe' set. If you haven't tried out PaperTrey's stamp sets I would recommend this set, its so versatile and fun to use.

Hope you like the new creations! Tomorrow is the last day to enter to win stamped images for each stamp I used for these cards. Just leave a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! I would love to hear from you!

Even More!

At this rate I should be able to do at least 20 by this weekend. I am now on card #15 and I am loving these cards. I tried the MFT's 'Home for the Hoilays' set again and I love the results this time. It took more time, but it was way worth it! Of course I can never seem to stamp the fireplace straight for some reason, but I love it anyway, quirks and all! I plan on trying out the Santa in the fireplace tomorrow most likely. This card is colored in with Prisma Colored Pencils...I love how the tree came out!
I also did some digging through my SU! stamp sets to find my 'Merry Elves' set that I bought through my Demo when the set retired. I have made holiday cards with this set since I bought it and I love all the possibilities. Here are two versions in blue, green and red....love them all! Enjoy ladies!
So, do you have a favorite one so far? If so I would LOVE to hear about it. I plan on duplicating some of these cards to bulk up the amount. I think I will pick 5 of my favorite cards to duplicate a few times each. I may even offer some blog candy for some input....Tune in tomorrow to see what I pick as my candy!

Baby time!

Well, my boss leaves tomorrow for at least 10 weeks to give birth to a lovely baby. We still do not know what she is having, she doesn't want to know until she gives birth, so it will be a surprise for everyone. I was asked to make the card for all of us to sign at work tomorrow, so here it is! Let me know what you think. I know the colors are unusual, but her favorite color is green and she painted the nursery green and yellow with a blue sky. Enjoy!

Well...

I am sorry to say that I will be busy for the next two weeks, stamping will be at a minimum. I have my studio final coming up on the 26th, so I can't be spending "free-time" with stamping. Although I would love to stamp all day long, I need to be good and not hang out on the Internet stamping world. I will be posting an image of the baby card I have to make for Friday. You see my boss at one of my jobs is having a baby! So, being the good little worker bees that we are at work we are getting her a cake and having a going away party! The card will be green and yellow with baby hands, but I can't think of what sort of layout I want for it! I'll figure something out....The picture here is a blast from the past! This card is from the May 2006 VSN on SCS, I was roaming though my files looking for card ideas and I just had to share this card. I love it! Enjoy! Hope to see you all soon :)

On another note, Em at Stamping Bella has debuted her Fella! He is cute, not what I was thinking of, but his first stamp is perfect for prom season, so make sure you stop by to see Fella and Bella in their glory!

Hello Again

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I've been trying to catch up at work and all the swaps I signed up for. With that came a few new cards, in fact one is the image you see with this post. I joined a swap where we had to use something from the Spring Mini, so here is my card. I used some of the new ribbon I got from Jody. I already received my April May Arts Share. It was super fast shipping! She had a few spools so the first orders have already been filled and I am loving the ribbon I got!

Have you seen her? Em over at Stamping Bella has added a new Bella! Her name is PMSBella, perfect for all us ladies, I love her!

Do you need to see a picture of my new ribbon? Maybe I should take one...if I do it will be coming tomorrow! I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter celebration! Hope the Bunny Hops on over to your home :)

Cropping Away~

I went to an all day crop today and I had a blast. Two demos I know put it together I was able to complete 8 coaster books and 6 Bella cards for a swap that's due soon. I had so much fun and I got to chat with lots of friends! The pictures posted here are of the 8 coaster books I completed. I signed up for two groups and decided to stick to two sets of colors for each group, I thought it would make things more interesting. I think the hardest part about these little books were all the little flowers I had to cut out! I used 2 large blossoms and 5 little blossoms for each book. I spent most of the morning cutting little flowers! LOL

This evening I also have my KIT Club meeting, there are 6 ladies that get together once a month to make all sorts of projects and cards. I have been doing this group for about 5 years now and each class we learn something new. I will make sure to tell you all about it when I get back.

Try a New Technique!

Today the challenge at SCS was to stamp and image and use your aquapainter (or paint brush) to blur the lines of your stamped image. This was a lot of fun to do, so I thought I would share my creation with all of you today. I used the set Sketches from Stampin Up to create the main image and the words. I stamped the image in Brillant Blue and mounted the words on Brocade Blue. Using my aquapainter I only blured the chair the woman is sitting on, her hat and the birds flying over her. I then chose my card color or So Saffron and placed a diagonally cut piece of background paper. As a final touch I added Grosgrain Ribbon (SU) to the right side. TFL!

Crafting Meets Cheer Leaders...

Today I woke up bright and early to sell some of the many things I make at a Cheer Leading competition that was being hosted at my old High School. The entire day was crazy! Girls running all over, lots of yelling and clapping, several disasters and I sold nothing! Yes, nothing at all. On the plus side I did not pay for the table, my SU Demo rented the table and invited me to join her so that the table would be filled. Basically I spent the day sitting in a loud and crowed hallway chatting with my friend and demo. It was a nice day, but I am now exhausted!

I also realized that I have no pictures up here! We can't have that now can we, so here are some things I've made. The first one is hard to see but it is a three layer card, I think it turned out to be wonderful! All SU products paper, inks and stamp set.

The next image is of a lunch tin I decorated using the Enchante paper from the Stampin Up Winter Mini. I added white organdy ribbon and celery grosgrain ribbon to complete the look. I was able to order eight lunch tins before the sale at CreativExpress was complete and they are currently being shipped. I can't wait to get them all dressed up!
On a final note for today...my Bella is being shipped on Monday! I can not wait to get it! I want to get stamping with it, I may even send in a card or two to the Member Only Gallery over at Paper Pretties! Just remember is you use my name when you sign up your registration fee, $7.50 is waived, but you have to say that Jackie sent you there! Happy Stamping!
