Another Prettie Peak!

It’s here! Sneak peak day two, are you excited yet?! I know I am so excited for this release, not only are we releasing the new Luke set I previewed yesterday, On Par, but Sophia Ballerina makes her way to the store as do the stamp sets Bunny Slippers and Sweets for my Sweet in RUBBAH! Plus, there is something special that will also be released, but it’s a surprise, and I must say I love it, and so will you! Today I have a Sophia Ballerina card, she is just so darn elegant and pretty I love it! I was so bummed when we had to put her away last month, but now she is back and I hope to never put her on my shelf again! I love seeing this stamp in pink, but after looking at her today, I decided that she needed to be in purple today, so after sifting through all sorts of pretty papers I decided to use my Latte Stack again! I love using Shimmerz with this stamp too, so it's all about Iced Lavender Shimmerz today! The Paper Pretties Boutique now carries Shimmerz so make sure to throw a few in your cart, you can never go wrong with a little bling!

On Wednesday April 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing Sophia Ballerina, Sweets for the Sweet in Rubber, Bunny Slippers in Rubber, and a new set! Hope to see you there!!

Hope you have a great Tuesday, be sure to come back here tomorrow to not only see another Sneak Peak, but to also see the Pretties Girl's Design Team Challenge!

Pretties Monday!

Not only is today another wonderful Paper Pretties Monday, but I get to start showing you sneak peaks of this months release! I am loving the new sets we are releasing! The set I am showing you today is called On Par and it features Luke, you may recall him from the adorable set Sealed with a Kiss, and this time this set is all about the guys! Not only do you get this great Luke image, complete with gold club and golf ball, but you also get 8 wonderful sentiments to match! I just HAD to use this sentiment when I decided I was going to create a golf ball in the background, I showed this card to the members of my family and it got a laugh from each and every one of them. When I think golf, I think green grass and little golf balls, so I used my Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder to create this golf ball in the background and I love how it turned out!

So here is all the Pretties News:

World Record INSPIRATIONAL Unity BLOG HOP

It is time for the World Record INSPIRATIONAL Unity BLOG HOP! I am so thrilled that I joined the Hop! Be sure to begin your view the of Inspirational Blog Hop by starting at theUnity Blog!
For my card today, I decided to use the newly arrived March Kit of the Month from Unity called Simple Life. This is my second creation with this Kit of the Month and I am loving everything that comes with this set. The images and the sentiments are just fabulous, as are all of the kits I have recevied from Unity. I really like the range of images, this one is of a topiary tree, and it is just too cute! Plus the sentiment I used today was 'Live Simply', a great thought to live by. Plus, I got the chance to use more of my yummy DCWV Latte DP, the colors of this paper and the pattern matches this image perfectly, plus a little bling never hurt anyone.

I have to share my favorite quote, and I had the hardest time finding one! I think my favorite quote would have to be: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." ~Henry David Thoreau

Now, make sure to continue hopping along on over to Lynn 's blog, Pieces of Me. I am sure that she has something wonderful to share with you, begin as she in a Unity Designer, I can't wait to see the rest of the hop!

Stamps: Simple Life March Kit of the Month from Unity; Paper: Whisper White, New Leaf, Dark Chocolate, DCWV Latte Stack DP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, New Leaf, E55 Light Caramel, E57 Light Walnut, YG09 Lettuce Green, YG11 Mignonette; Accessories: Tiny Twinklets, Pop Dots, May Arts Ribbon

Hip Hop Hangover!

I can not believe it is already Friday but I am loving it! Of course with it being Friday, I have some Unity to share with you! I once again played along with one of the challenges hosted by Jeanne in the Unity Forum on SCS. This week I ran out of time so did not post my card any where until just now, and I was only able to complete one card for one challenge, but I really like the results! Each week Jeanne hosts two challenges during Thursday’s Hip Hop and I love playing along if I can, this week was wonderful like all the other weeks. There was a color combination challenge and a theme challenge, while I didn’t get a chance to complete the Spring theme card, I did get to create a card for the color challenge! The color challenge was to use the colors purple, white and black! I went though all of my papers and the only decorative paper that seemed to work with this color combination is from my DCWV Latte DP, there is a bit of green, but this paper is not only super cute, but its also textured! I also received my March Kit of the Month two days ago and I got the chance to ink up two of the wonderful stamps that came as part of my kit. I love solid flower images, like the main image, and after stamping it and looking at the rest of the stamps that came with the kit I selected this adorable sentiment as my accent. I hope you enjoyed my Unity creation as part of the Hip Hop Hangover! Stay tuned this weekend for not only Paper Pretties April release news, but I am also taking part in the massive blog hop this weekend for Unity, and it is going to rock! Hope you have a great Friday; enjoy the beginning of this beautiful weekend!

MFT Idol!

Have you been following the My Favorite Things Idol, I am so addicted and I am loving it! Tonight marked the cut down to 8 lucky ladies, and let me tell you the creations have been fabulous! I have been playing along with the challenges, and having fun along with everyone one else! The first weeks challenge was to create a card to celebrate being in the top 10, and I was not a part of the top 10, so I created a card celebrating MFTs goodies! I used all My Favorite Things embellishments, papers, and stamps. I love the way this card came out, nice and sunny, perfect to welcome spring and I am loving this adorable image from the Hoog Booga set. She was just screaming to be paper pieced! This past week we also found out that the judges who particpate in the weekly challenges can win goodies as well! Each week 3 My Favorite Things Design Team Judges will each pick their favorite card. Guess what?! Last week, during the first challenge, my card was picked by Kim! Kim picked my card for her favorite! I am still a little shell shocked from it. Hope you enjoy my card today, I get to share my this weeks entry soon too, loving this Idol thing!

Prettie Bookmark!

Today is Wednesday, which means that it is time for another great Pretties Girl's Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share with you something I made for Christi's bookmark challenge from two weeks ago! I have not made a bookmark in what seems like the longest time and I had the hardest time trying to start, in the end I decided that I would work with the bookmark base up. So I picked out some fun bright, springy paper I got from one of the new DCWV paper stacks, and matched it with Flutter By Sophia, prefect for a bright creation! Here is a close up on Flutter By Sophia, doesn't she look adorable in the butterfly paper piecing?! I just love this stamp with decorative paper. With Spring just beginning, it is still cold out, but creating things with bright colors and butterflies warms my heart! Be sure to check out what bookmark creations the other Pretties Girl's created, I know they will all be fabulous!

HOOT-y Birthday Frances!

Hoot! Hoot! It's a Birthday Blog Hop Prettie Girl style...with a dash of owl-y goodness tossed in for fun! The amazingly talented Frances is celebrating a birthday today and the Pretties Girl's just had to throw another virtual party! The hop started at Jacque's blog so if you didn't start from there you might be missing out on some of the fun! Since Frances is a fan of owls I just HAD to use this adorable SU! Owl paper for her card, in fact, that was my starting point for this one. From there I decided to use Wade E. Bug and the sentiment from Bugs and Fishes. I love Wade E. Bug, but I don't use him enough, so I thought this brithday card would beperfect for the showmen in Mr.Wade E. Bug!

The next stop on the blog hop is Jodi's blog, so fly on over to your next stop and see what Jodi has created for Frances! Be sure at the end of the road to stop by Frances' blog and wish her a HOOT-y Birthday!

Monday Madness!

I am thrilled that today is Monday, not only do I get to share with you a fun Paper Pretties card, but its the beginning to a new week and I feel better! Thank you ladies for all the kind words, between your well wishes and plenty of rest I am feeling a lot better. Each week I fall in love with these wonderful Pretties Challenges that Danielle hosts every week on the Paper Pretties Forum. This week brings another one of her fun sketches, this time I used the new Cooper stamp called This Much. I love the sentiments that come with this adorable Cooper, they are so fun and cute, this one 'to the moon and back' is just perfect for this sketch! I also used a bright color combination that I thought would fit an active boy, like Cooper. I had a hard time coming up with what to put on the three squares along the side of the main image, but I decided that if the card was to go to a Mom, then flowers with a little bling would be perfect. I hope you enjoy today's Paper Pretties card, be sure to play along with this weeks sketch, they are always a blast. Have a great Monday all, hope today is a wonderful day for everyone!

Angel Anya!

I am loving the Anya's and Ian's from The Greeting Farm, in fact I just received a few of the new releases in the mail the other day. I unfortunatly have yet to enjoy these fun stamps, but I did make a card a while back using Angel Anya that I never got the chance to share with you, so I thought I would post it here today. I ordered the adorable little fairies and the cute little animals, and I can't wait to ink them up, the stamps from The Greeting Farm are just all too cute, and you know how I am a sucker for cute stamps. I hope you like today's card, and be sure to stop by tomorrow for my Pretties post, I plan on sharing the card I created for this weeks Pretties Weekly Challenge, always a good time!

Some Gina K!

I joined a fun Gina K swap on SCS hosted by another 'Ho' McFadden where you had to create a card using two images from Gina K. Two images? That took me a while to decide which two images would be best to use for this one, I finally decided on using two sets that Melanie Muenchinger illustrated, two of my favorite Gina K sets. The first set being 'A Year of Flowers' and the second set being 'Hand in Hand', I think these two sets really worked well together. I just love these roses, in fact I collect roses to a certain extent, and I used a copic marker to give the roses in the background a bit of shading. Then I added these adorable hands and cute matching sentiment to the card, overall the feel was a pretty sweet card I think. Then for the finishing touches I added some tiny twinklets and some super yummy PTI dotted Satin ribbon.

Hip Hop Hangover!

It's Hip Hop Hangover time! I unfortunatly stayed home sick yesterday, and I still feel like crap, but I did get the chance to create a springy card last night, even though it was too late for the Unity challenges of the day. Each week on Thrusday Unity hosts Hip Hop though all of the Design team blogs and the SCS forum and it is always a blast! This week the two challenges were to create a card using Easter colors and to create a card using Ovals in some way, so I combined the two! Two challenges is better than one, right?! I had a lot of fun with this card, plus I finally got the chance to use my February Kit of the Month from Unity, called Endings and Beginnings. Aren't these stamps just too cute?! I love the Easter egg and the one word is just fab! Hope you like today's card, I had a lot of fun with this one. Have a great day!

I even made sure to eat from a Mexican restaurant near work yesterday and ordered extra chips to take with my picture, but the chips are at work! Sorry Jules! But trust me when I say I have enough chips to go around! I am loving this new SU! paper Raspberry Tart and I thought it would be the perfect color combo to pair Hola Chica with to create a fun and festive Birthday card! The next stop on the blog hop is Jessica's blog, be sure to hop along! Pretties Wednesday!

Another wonderful Pretties Wednesday Challenge is upon us and I am thrilled! This week I get to share with you a card I created for Jessica's Birthday card challenge. Simple, right?! I wasn't too sure where to go with this and decided I should pull out one of the stamps that I haven't inked up in a while so Snowflake come on down! I decided to create a card using the stamp set Surf's Up that features Snowflake and tried my Odorless Mineral Spirits out again, I think it really turned out nice on this image, then to pull out the red in the surf board I used some fun stripped May Arts red ribbon! I thought that the sentiment 'Ride the Birthday Wave' would be great, so I created it myself! I cut up the sentiment and added in my own 'Birthday' to complete the card. I had a lot of fun with this challenge, but I know that the other Pretties Girl's made some amazing cards, so be sure to check them all out!

Some Gina K

This month brings another great release from Gina K and with this release comes some great challenges! This challenge was to create a card following Donna's sketch! I had a blast this weekend watching the great StampTV videos that Gina K has created. I got the chance to watching the 'thumping' video on StampTV and I used what I had from that tutorial to create the flower images for this card. I think it all works together, the stamps, the colors, the flowers I love how it all came together! In fact all the supplies for this card came inside the first Kit called Floral Frenzy from Gina K. In fact I plan on giving this card to one of my coworkers today for his birthday. Hope you have a great day all! Enjoy!

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call!

Ladies, if you are like me then you LOVE to find new stamp companies and new super cute images to try. Recently I saw a post a friend of mine made about there being a new stamp company beginning called Inky Impressions featuring some adorable little girls on their stamp line. As soon as I heard about this company I had to try for their Design Team Call, so far the previews of their new stamps look super cute and adorable! The main page will be located at Inky Impressions, once the company is launched and I can't wait! For the Design Team call we are required to create a post about the call and share two cards (our best work) that feature line art stamped images that we have hand colored. I am a huge fan of images that I have to color in detail, I mean look at my blog, most of my creations are not using solid stamps but are instead all about the colors and the shading. I had the hardest time deciding what stamps to use for these two cards, but I decided that I would use images of other girls since their stamp line will be featuring girls! My first card uses one of the cute Anya images from The Greeting Farm, this is one of my new stamps that I had yet to get a chance to use, and I thought it would be a great image to showcase some of my coloring. I also decided to use the sketch challenge that was posted earlier this week at the Club Anya blag to celebrate the new stamps that will be released soon! I love how these images are so easy to color, and using different color combinations really seem to work. I went with pinks for this one, and I think it really worked. For my second card I decided to use one of my Sarah Kay images, another great line art stamp that I thought would help showcase my coloring abilities. I paired this adorable image with some great dotted paper from PTI and some really pretty and soft May Arts ribbon. Hope you like today's creations, I had a lot of fun trying some new stamps today.
First Card-Stamps: Miss Anya Collection from The Greeting Farm; Paper: Whisper White, Melon Berry, Pure Poppy; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, E00 Skin White, E55 Ligth Caramel, R22 Light Prawn, Rv14 Begonia Pink, Y11 Pale Yellow, Y15 Cadmium Yellow, Y17 Golden Yellow, YG11 Mignonette; Accessories: Glue Dots, Bridal Flowers, Taylored Expressions Tiny Twinklets, Large Thin Rectangular Regular and Scalloped Nestabilities, Large Circle Regular and Scalloped Nestabilities

There She Goes

I signed up for an ATC swap where you had to use There She Goes stamps over in the SCS forum that Kelli Jo is hosting. Kelli is one of the great 'Hos' that I chat with all the time and when she posted this swap I just had to take two spots. Kelli does a great job as a hostess and I know she will be amazing at swapping this mass of ATCs heading her way. I had the hardest time getting started on these ATCs! I knew that I wanted to use Snail Mail for one set, but I had no idea what to do for the second set so I posted for someone to pick and I was told Flowers, so Flowers of Happiness it is! I wasn't sure how to start the second card after I picked the set, and I went pinks, thought they would be great for this set! I colored in all the flowers then decided that it needed vellum and a great quote! I had a lot of fun with both of these sets, and of course no ATC is complete without a few crystals, I just couldn't resist the possibility of using these little gems. Hope you enjoy my creations, I had a lot of fun giving these ATCs a shot!

Pretty Pretties!

Today is Pretties Wednesday so that means more Paper Pretties Design Team challenges! This week I get to share with you the card I created for Jackie's color combo challenge from two weeks ago. She challenged the Pretties Girl's to create a card using the colors of Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and Kraft! I had to use Hola Chica, the Stamp of the Month for April, I mean what Pretties card is complete without this adorable little girl! I had a lot of fun with this color combo, in fact I may have gone overboard, but it just felt so right. Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations on their blogs:
Hope you enjoyed today's card! Enjoy the rest of your week, hopefully it will go by quickly, this time change is really messing with me. Have a great Wednesday!

MFT Idol!

I don't know if you follow the the My Favorite Things forum at all, but they are hosting a MFT Idol competition, just like America Idol! All last week people could post entries and I finally got the chance to play along this weekend and I had a blast! There were so many sets to pick from, I finally decided to use Cupcake Flopsey as my stamp set, he had yet to see ink and we can't have that! I finally decided that I was going to use MFT colors and make it simple. So in order to go simple I picked Cupcake Flopsey and gave him lots of layers! His ears pop out, as does the adorable cupcake he's holding, I love ho simple layers can give a card dimension. The next step was to make this Bunny Bling! So not only does he have super yummy MFT Swarovski Crystals (Summer Collection), but he also has a shimmerz cupcake! I mean how can one go wrong with Shimmerz AND Crystals! That is one blinged out Bunny, in fact I thought about adding the new brads that MFT has released, but the colors I currently have just aren't the right color, but it was a thought! If you haven't checked it out, I would suggest checking out the SCS gallery, there are so many amazing entries! So far 2 of the 10 participants have been unveiled, I can't wait to see who gets picked next! Have a great Tuesday all, hope its a blingy day! Enjoy!

Every time I see here I want to get up and dance! This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge, which I love! Sketch challenges are just easy some how, they give you a bit of structure I guess. I picked up this fun paper a few weeks ago and thought that Sophia would look fab in it, what do you think, is she a blue kind of girl? Well hope you all enjoy today's post have a great Monday all!

Another Verve Sketch!

Today is the Verve Stamps release day, and the wonderful Julee has posted a sketch challenge to be completed by tonight. I saw the layout yesterday and I had to give it a try, it look simple but fun! I decided on using this adorable stamp set, Little Pumpkin, and I have yet to ink him up, so I thought this was the perfect time! Then to match the Little Pumpkin set I used Tall Oaks for the large acorns to the side, I really like how this one came out. I love this color, Summer Sunrise from PaperTrey, its not a really light orange, its a little bit to a yellow shade and I just love the color.I thought it would go nicely with the Dark Chocolate from PaperTrey and they really do work well together. It's Button Time!

This month with the My Favorite Things release a challenge was posted to be a Guest Designer, and every month I try to play along if I get the chance and I was able to complete this one! The challenge was to use buttons in some way, I had planned on creating a frame around my main image with white buttons, but I can't seem to find any white buttons! I went to two stores and no white buttons so I improvised. So instead I used these flowers I picked up yesterday at Michael's as the background and adhered these adorable PTI vintage buttons to the top. I also got the chance to use my woodless color pencils and gemasol for the background of the main image which I haven't tried in what seems like forever ago. Then of course with any fun card the use of paper piecing is a must so I decided to use that technique for her dress! Enjoy!

Vervealicious!

This week I got to play along with the Viva la Verve challenge! Each week I look at the sketch Amber posts in the Verve forum on SCS, put it on my list to complete and I always seem to forget about it, but I finally sat down this week and created! Not only did I complete the sketch, but I also completed the twist that was a part of the sketch, which was to use buttons in some way! I used the stamp set Abundant Blessings and decided to use the leaves in the set to create background paper. I then used a main circular image for the focus of the card and added the super cute sentiment Abundant Blessings. I really had a lot of fun with this sketch and challenge, hope you like it! Have a great Thursday all!

Its Quilting!

Happy Wednesday! Today I get to share the card I created for my own challenge! Woo-hoo! Two weeks ago I challenged the Pretties Girl's to create a card using Quilting (either paper or fabric) in some way. I love quilting with paper, and I have been known to take a real quilting class or two, I even have a few sections of a quilt top completed that really needs some work, but this brings me a bit closer, right?! I decided to use some great Chatter Box paper I had as my patterns, one of the sheets is double sided and both are used, but both patterns are from the same grouping, I love how well they work together. I also get the pleasure to create another wonderful card using Hola Chica, the April Stamp of the Month, isn't she just the cutest thing! I just love how wonderful Sophia looks in this get up, just too cute! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's blogs to see how they did today with their own quilting, hope they had fun!

Digital Girl!

I got the chance last night to play along with this weeks Who's That Girl challenge in the My Favorite Things forum and I had a blast! The set to use this week was Digital Girl, last months Who's That Girl stamp set and the challenge was to use sewing in some way, real or faux. This challenge was the perfect excuse to pull out my mini sewing machine so I just had to join! I got out my new sewing machine and got to work, I decided to use some of the paper I had use this weekend to create some adorable 3 x 3 note cards for the Paper Pretties release party. I am trying to use the 'scraps' up from old challenges, and let me tell you that in itself is a challenge! I am wonderful about pulling out new paper, but I am horrible at using up the paper I have already cut into. So I was thrilled that I had an excuse to use some 'scrap' paper from this past weekend as my paper piecing. Have I told you that I love paper piecing? Well, I do, I love the dimension it adds to any image. Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday! See you all here tomorrow for a quilted Paper Pretties card!

Rainbow Chica!

Yesterday was the Pretties Party and it was a blast, I wasn't there for the whole thing unfortunately, but it was a great night! Charmaine issued three great challenges, the first of which was to create a card using the color scheme from our favorite cartoon character. So I picked my favorite cartoon character from growing up, and still my favorite one now, Rainbow Bright! I love how sweet she was and here colors were just wonderful, so my color pallet was the rainbow! So many options, but I love it, and I had a lot of fun using 'Hola Chica' in all sorts of colors. 'Hola Chica' is the April Stamp of the Month from Paper Pretties and I just love here! I mean how much fun does this little lady look! I used some fun striped paper and brads galore, in all the six colors that can be found on Rainbow Bright. Hope you enjoy, its a bit of a different card, but I had a lot of fun with it!

Today's the Day!

That's right Ladies, today is March 1st! Which means it's almost time for a Paper Pretties Party! Tonight the Pretties Girl's will be having a rockin' Pajama Party in the Paper Pretties Forum and you will not want to miss a minute of it all! All night we chatter, get to know each other, and of course there are challenges! Each hour Charmine issues a challenge, for a total of three challenges, and you get the chance to play right along with us! PLUS, we will be releasing 'This Much', that adorable Cooper stamp set you saw a sneak peak of here on Friday, and 'Bunny Hop Sophia' go on sale! So be sure to stop by, we are going to have a blast! For today's Sneak Peak I pulled out 'Bunny Hop Sophia', which you may remember her as being show cased all last month when you had the chance to sign up for the Stamp of the Month program, well if you missed out on her then, now you have the opportunity to order her tonight, and you will not regret it for a second. Just think of all the adorable Easter cards you can create with this little sweetheart! I decided to give this weeks SCS sketch a chance using Bunny Hop Sophia and I just love how this card came out. I hope you all have a relaxing and wonderful Sunday, but be ready to party tonight. The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm, can't wait to see you there!
