With every Gina K stamp release a few of members of the Design Team host challenges, and this release was no different. There were three great challenges posted for everyone to play along with, and although I wasn't able to complete them all, I did get the chance to create one card for one of the challenges. I decided that since I only had time for one card I would create a card for the color combo challenge. This time around the challenge was to use the colors pink and brown, with an option for a neutral color added to the mix. I used white for my neutral color and got to work coloring in this fun image from the Home Tweet Home set. I still can't believe that this set has sitting there uninked! I only have a few more Gina K sets that haven't seen ink, slowly I am working my way through, unless of course I order more stamps and the list continues to grow! I used some Pink Pirouette paper as the card base and layered Scarlet Jewel over that and added this fun dotted DP I picked up in a large paper pack I bought at a garage sale a while ago. But it seemed to be missing something, then my mom saw something in my room and suggested I used it, so raffia ended up on my card and I think it really worked out. Happy Father's Day

With Father's Day right around the corner, I have to get these Father's Day cards done! I had two more to create, and I decided to use the same stamps that I used on my last card. This Gina K stamp set is just so much fun to use and I just love how these images work so nicely. Two of my coworkers' brothers were in the coast guard, so these cards are completely perfect! For this one I used a different color pallet and I love how it came out. I think the red and brown mix really worked out nicely with this card, plus I had a lot of fun coloring this super cute image again! I also used my Copics this time instead of my colored pencils, both styles of coloring showed up wonderfully with this image. Hope you like today's card, have a great day!

A Bit Masculine

This weekend I got the chance to participate in one of the Gina K release challenges over at the SCS forum and I had so much fun! This challenge was to create a masculine card, and since I have been asked to create Father's Day cards, I decided this was the perfect time to create one! I love using my woodless colored pencils from Koh-I-Noor especially with gemasol, the results are just so neat. The way an image can be shaded this way, I just love it! I have three more cards to create for this holiday for one of the guys from work, I don't know which stamps I will be using, but I think this card works wonderfully, in fact, one of the recipients works for the coast guard. When I was asking for color and hobbies I mentioned lighthouses as a possibility, and he was so excited to hear that I had a lighthouse stamp, hopefully he will like this card as much as I do! A Bit More!

This past week Gina K released all sorts of stamp sets and I took some time this weekend to create a card for one of their release challenges. With three challenges posted, I only got the chance to create one card, but I love the results!The third release challenge was to create a card where there was a main image or sentiment and whatever was used as a main focal point of the card was to be part of the background. So after sorting through all my stamps I got the chance to use my Elegant Flowers stamp set and I had so much fun with it! I used two tones of blue and white and added some fun crystal embellishments and some yummy may arts ribbon! SheetLoads DT 'Interview'

As most of you know my favorite type of challenge is a sketch challenge and one of the places I look to for great sketches is SheetLoad of Cards. I heard about this fabulous digital magazine when Paper Pretties sponsored the December issue and since then I have followed not only the month issues, but also the great blog. The best part about this E-Zine is that not only do they supply some amazing samples, but they also tell you the dimensions to create actual sheet loads of card, how great is that?! Recently they posted a Design Team call and I thought I would apply, so this is my 'interview post'. For my 'interview' I get the chance to share with you three cards and one beyond the card creation based off one of the past or present sketches. I decided to use the current April issue as my inspiration, I really loved the layering on this sketch and was happy to give it a try. I was asked by a friend at work to create eight Mother's Day cards for him to give to his friends and family, so I thought this 'interview' would be the perfect time to create some of these cards. The first card I created with this sketch was this super cute vase full of flowers stamp from the Gina K stamp set Friendship Blooms, and since I was going with a Mother's Day theme I decided that pink and red was the way to go. I pulled out my Koh-I-Noor woodless color pencils and gemasol for a really simple but elegant water colored look. I used two different decorative papers the red dotted paper is called Bitty Dots from PTI and the second is one of my favorite lines of designer paper from SU! called Bella Rose. For this card I followed the sketch point by point, a little afraid to think outside of the box on this one, but I took some more risks as my cards continued. Of course a 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment from the Gina K stamp set Kindred Greetings For Her which I think was the perfect way to complete the card.
The second card I created uses the Gina K stamp set Take Flight with the matching colors of white, blue, and a bit of purple. I really love the results on this card, I once again use my woodless colored pencils from Koh-I-Noor and gemasol and paired it with Pacific Point and Whisper White cardstock. I had a bit of a challenge finding just the right background paper for this card, but I ended up using some Pink Flamingo DP from SU!. Then for a finishing touch I added lots of little crystals called Tiny Twinklets and some shimmery flowers from the bridal section in Michael's. Then of course the sentiment to complete the card, I once again used the 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment from the Gina K stamp set Kindred Greetings For Her.For my third card I used this cute bouquet of flowers from the Taylored Expressions set called Fresh Flowers, this was my first time using this set and I really liked the results I got. Last month I joined their new Key Ingredients Subscription Service, each month a kit complete with everything you need to make at least 16 cards shows up, so I thought it was the perfect way to create some fun cards. I picked this super cute floral decorative paper and two matching papers from the kit, a light coral and a darker tone of coral. I also decided to use some of the satin ribbon that came with the kit, I love the dark shade of red, it goes perfectly with the background paper. Then to finish off the card I used the sentiment from the again from the Fresh Flowers stamp set plus some more Tiny Twinklets in the corners.For my last creation we had to make a 'Beyond the Card' project, I wasn't sure what to make, and then I found my DVD tins! After seeing my DVD tins I decided to create a DVD Tin Scrapbook, the perfect gift for Mom on Mother's Day! Plus, since I love the Bella Rose DP from SU! I decided to use it for my main paper. I love the look inside this adorable DVD tin, I lined the inside with the rose print of the Bella Rose DP. If have never made one of these little DVD Tin scrapbooks you really should, they are super simple and the end result is a lot of fun. For the outside of the tin I selected Pure Poppy and Certainly Celery to match the fun decorative paper! I used this beautiful Rose image from the Gina K stamp set called Spring Blooms, I love how elegant it looks, perfect for this DP, plus once again an amazing sentiement from Kindred Greetings For Her.

A Little Baby Fun

I was going through all my pictures and I realized that I had yet to share with you all the fun things I created for Jana when we heard she was expecting. The Pretties Girl's decided that we should either buy or create something for her and the baby as well as create a two page scrapbook layout. I decided to buy a few fun onesies and get to work stamping some fun kiddie images on them. I went with these little frogs, fishes, and an elephant from Paper Trey, as well as this adorable baby tin and washcloths to finish off the package! Don't these look adorable! Then it was time to try a fun two page spread for the 6x6 album all the Pretties Girl's pages would be able to fill. I rarely scrapbook anything anymore, but when I do I have so much fun! Baby pages are always a lot of fun to create!Christie was so nice to send us all the same papers so that our 6x6 pages would all flow together nicely in a cute little 6x6 scrapbook. I used my fun Baby First set from SU! (one of my all time favorite baby sets) and this adorable stickers I found for baby! I really did have a lot of fun laying out these pages, I missed it to be honest.
Plus, no present is complete without a fun baby card! I made this card using the fun Gina K set How Sweet it is, I love the images and the simplicity of this set. Hope you like this set of goodies today, I had forgotten all about the fact that I still had images to share with you from these goodies!

Springy!

Cleaning through the cards I haven't posted here yet and I found another one! I created this card a few weeks ago for one of the Gina K stamp release challenges, the challenge was to create a spring card, and I had a lot of fun with this one! I used the materials that came in my Gina K Stamp TV kit and followed the step by step tutorial that Gina K gave on Stamp TV to color in this image with pencils and gemasol. I've tried that technique before and I had a lot of fun following Ginas details, they made the technique seem easier some how. I just love this stamp, and I am thrilled that I ordered the kit otherwise I wouldn't have it and that would be no fun at all! Some Gina K!

I joined a fun Gina K swap on SCS hosted by another 'Ho' McFadden where you had to create a card using two images from Gina K. Two images? That took me a while to decide which two images would be best to use for this one, I finally decided on using two sets that Melanie Muenchinger illustrated, two of my favorite Gina K sets. The first set being 'A Year of Flowers' and the second set being 'Hand in Hand', I think these two sets really worked well together. I just love these roses, in fact I collect roses to a certain extent, and I used a copic marker to give the roses in the background a bit of shading. Then I added these adorable hands and cute matching sentiment to the card, overall the feel was a pretty sweet card I think. Then for the finishing touches I added some tiny twinklets and some super yummy PTI dotted Satin ribbon.

This month brings another great release from Gina K and with this release comes some great challenges! This challenge was to create a card following Donna's sketch! I had a blast this weekend watching the great StampTV videos that Gina K has created. I got the chance to watching the 'thumping' video on StampTV and I used what I had from that tutorial to create the flower images for this card. I think it all works together, the stamps, the colors, the flowers I love how it all came together! In fact all the supplies for this card came inside the first Kit called Floral Frenzy from Gina K. In fact I plan on giving this card to one of my coworkers today for his birthday. Hope you have a great day all! Enjoy!

Really?! No Way!

I got some great news when I woke up this morning! Not only did I receive my Gina K stamps order but I also got an e-mail from Jana letting me know that Gina K posted a card of mine on her blog! That's right Gina from Gina K Designs posted today about how she wanted to share some cards that her customers were creating. "I decided to start a new feature on my blog where I will periodically show you some of the fantastic projects created with our stamps." One of my cards that I created for a Secret Sister Swap in the Gina K forum was selected, so I decided I had to make another Gina K card today! If you stopped by here from Gina's blog, thank you so much for stopping by and thank you to the new subscribers I have gotten today, my e-mails keep rolling in! I never posted it, but that card had a matching heart shaped tin, so I posted that above, I just love making matchy sets. A Little Gina K

Its T-Shirt and Hoodies time! I was sorting through my pictures and I never shared these cards! I made these cards forever ago for Gabby's swap, the first card was for the humor group and the sweatshirt was for the Hoodie swap. I just love these stamps, when Mel create stamps they are always so much fun and exciting to try out. These two sets have quickly become my favorite stamp sets of hers, I guess because of how versatile they are.

I made the football inspired hoodie since it was during football season for my brother, of course after I made it my Mom was bummed that I didn't use his school colors. But none the less I love the looks, the simple color scheme the fun stripes, what more could you ask for. Its Almost Christmas!

With Christmas coming and almost here I have been trying to get some shopping done. I had intended to post something on here yesterday but my three hour shopping just drained me completely, so instead I am posting the Gina K card I made last weekend today! This month's Gina K release was wonderful and with any great release there is a challenge. This month there are three great challenges and I got the chance to create one card for one of the challenges. The challenge was to create a card using monochromatic color scheme and I went with red and white, and I just love the results. I used my aqua painted and a red ink pad to shade the pointsettas and then I used some fun shimmerz to really make those flowers sparkle. An Ornament

Before the Gina K release party this month Melanie issued a challenge based on her new stamp set called 'Hand in Hand'. You were supposed to make a card, 3D project of scrapbook page that reflects a memory of yours. Well after thinking it over I wanted to share with everyone a story about my Mom and my Grandma. Nine years ago my Grandma passed away and one of the things she left my Mom was a very pretty ornament and an Angel that my Mom adored and always put on the Christmas tree. Well two years ago the Angel broke, it some how slipped from the very top of the tree and she has not had the heart to replace it with another angel yet, instead we now use a star at the top of the tree. I know that every time she looks at the ornament that we still have she thinks about my Grandma, I know it makes her feel like she’s with us somehow in that ornament. This year my Mom has only asked for one thing for Christmas from each of us, she wants an ornament for her Christmas tree, so I am trying at the moment to find one that in some way will be as special as my Grandma's ornament. I think I will find an ornament that she loves, and when I do I plan on giving it to her with this card. Thank you for reading and looking.

A Little Tee

I thought I would share another one of my Little Tee creations with you! I created three different cards using Mel's Little Tee set from Gina K for Gabby's Little Tee swap, today's card is from the 'Naughty' group. I wasn't sure what to create for this group, but after a lot of thinking about it I came up with this pink and black card. I love the Little Tees so much, in fact this tank top was from the main image in the Little Tee set that I cut down to be a tank top. I stamp the main Tee image on this great Rock Star Paper Pack paper then cut out the tank top and outlined the sides that were cut. I then used this fun pink paper to create a Nestabilities background which I then mounted on more of this great Rock Star paper. The it needed more....so I went through the included words in Mel's set to fun 'Go Big Boy', which works perfectly with this little tee! I used my Nestabilities Ribbon Slider Dies to create this cute little Ribbon Slider, then of course I needed ribbon! So off to my ribbon stash I went and after digging around for a while I found this great May Arts ribbon that I have been hoarding away for a special card. I decided that it worked perfectly for the overall look and used it. Hope you like today's creation, I had a lot of fun with these cards for Gabby's swap and I just had to share them some more!

Little Tees!

A few months ago I signed up for a Little Tees swap hosted by Gabby on SCS and I took three spots. Today I thought I would share one of my creations for the swap, with the three spots I took one in each groups which were humor, naughty and nice. This card was my nice spot, I wanted to use a winter theme, but I also wanted to use some colors I typically don't use with winter so I pulled out a few plum colors and got to work. I hope you like it, I had a lot of fun creating this card, in fact I love all these cute stamps! I have a few more Little Tee creations I will be sharing with everyone soon, hope you enjoy them all! Gina K Time!

With the latest Gina K Stamps release their wonderful design team posted three challenges. I was able to get all three challenges completed in time and they were so much fun! So I thought today (since I just got my new Gina K Stamps) I would share with you all three of my creations, so here we go! The first challenge was hosted by Joanne, we had to take her card and use the layout as our sketch. I just had to sit down and give it a try, the sketch was just too cute to ignore. So I pulled out my stamps and nestabilities and got to work!The second challenge was to use the colors red and white with a third color of our choice. Since the first card was a winter theme, I thought I should continue on the theme for all three challenges so I added green to the red and white. I decided to use my super cute Sandy Claws stamp and I was thrilled with the results.The last challenge was to use a new technique where you take glossy paper and run it through your cuttlebug then use ink and a brayer to bring out the texture of the embossed paper. I love the results! I decided to pull out my Snow Dots folder and flip the embossed part, so what is typically above, is actually below, giving this card a different look. Tin Time!

Joanne gave us the go ahead to share the cards we created for a Gina K. swap this past month. Mel thought it would be great to create cards that were slightly smaller than the regular ATC card so that they could fit within a Altoid tin and made the suggestion to Joanne who thought it would be perfect for a little swap. I took two spots and got to work, I decided to use my Little Tees set for one of the spots and the new Spooky Silhouette for the second spot. I used some little primas to embellish my Little Tees card and some of that wonderful purple ribbon I got on the Halloween card. Waste Not Want Not!

So I found a wonderful challenge in the Gina K. Forum and I HAD to play along! The challenge was to create a card using an entire sheet of 6 x 6 DP, so I pulled out my Basic Grey paper and got to work! I have been reaching for this Rupa set over and over again, something about this dress and these purses just catch my eye every time! I love this set, if you haven't seen it before it is called Retro Boutique and its something every girl has to have! I had a little more paper left after the card front so I decided to layer to insert to write on. I also received my Gina K September order tongiht and I am loving the Spooky Silhouettes...it is just too much fun! Hope you enjoy the card, I had a lot of fun creating this one, have a great night!

Happy Birthday to Me!

That's right! Today was my 24th Birthday and in celebration of this big day I am spending tomorrow in NYC with my best friend, it should be great. We have plans to see a few buildings that are old and are up to be taken down for an expansion project, take a air balloon ride, have lunch, and see a waterfall! It should be great, I am looking forward to it. Then I am going home to spend time with my guy to buy golf clubs, thats right I am going to try to take up golf to spend some time with my man. Wish me luck!

Did You See?

Last night Gina K. from Gina K. Designs explained the new Guest Designer selection process, and I think its a great idea! Each month one person will be selected to join the Design Team and participate with the other Design Team members in an entire months festivities...how neat is that! All you have to do to enter is post your creations using Gina K. Designs, how super simple is that, in fact I already do that! So to that point I decided to check and see if I have shared all of my creations with everyone, and I realize there are a few things I haven't posted yet, so here we go!

This card I created for one of Joanne B's fun swaps, all we had to do was create a card using one of the beautiful Kindred Spirit stamps, this one uses Rebecca. I went with a simple layout to make the image pop more and dots! There are dots on the background and on the satin ribbon, enjoy!
