Pick of the Patch!

Guess what?! Our newest Paper Pretties stamp Pick of the Patch is on sale now, so run on over and pick this little guy up, he is the cutest pumpkin in the patch by far! With fall arriving and Halloween not to far away this little guy is the prefect addition to your stamp sets! The set has several sentiments and two adorable images, the main image being Cooper in his best outfit. When we had our Pajama Party last week Charmaine issued three wonderful challenges and this little box is one of my creations for her Halloween challenge. I wanted to create something a little different than just a Halloween card so I decided to make a little treat sliding box, complete with chocolate, perfect for any Pajama Party!

Isn't he just too cute! I used my DCWV Halloween Glitter paper, which is super yummy especially for those of us that love bling, the perfect addition to any creation! Pretties Wednesday!

You know what today is....Paper Pretties Wednesday Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share a card with you that I created from Danielle's challenge. She wanted all of the Prettie Girls to make a card using a "Fancy Fold", it could be any type of folder card as long as it was not the standard or normal card. So after thinking about it for a while I remembered seeing a card that had two flaps that I wanted to give a try, so after some searching I found out that it was called the 'Joy Fold' and I went to two. I wanted to create a fall card, but I don't have too much fall paper, instead I went for some fall colors, I think it works! I used my paper from the Pressed Petal Printed Paper Pad and selected some papers that complement each other in the fall spectrum. Paper Piecing

This past week was the My Favorite Things release, and with any good release is a great challenge! This month MFT was all about paper piecing so I decided to go to town and stretch my possibilities, I pulled out my Here's the Scoop stamp set and got to work! I waded through my paper over and over again and I just kept pulling out this black and white dotted paper and I finally gave in. I decided to use the dotted paper for the couch and I cut out all the little pieces then colored them in seperatly. Then to add another layer I added the criss cross paper in the background as wall paper. I know its a little bold, but I had so much fun with the bright colors contrasting and all the pink, I even went a little over board. Then to complete the card I added three little scoops of ice cream as embellishments. Enjoy!

Falling for Ribbon Weaving

Wednesday was our Paper Pretties Pajama Party and Charmaine really rocked those challenges! The first one of the night was to create a card using a technique that you had never tried before and I happened to received my TJN just the day before and inside was all different possibilities for ribbon. I decided to try the ribbon weaving for the first time and I just love it! Don't be surprised if I use it again, there is a lot of ribbon used, but the final product is just so much fun! I used the new Paper Pretties stamp Falling for You as my main image and some other great fall colors or brown, cream, and celery, a simple but fun card. Time to Share

This week I particpated in the My Favorite Things 'Who's That Girl Challenge" on Monday and I had a blast! This week we had to use the set Walk the Dog and dress her up with dots, so I decided to use the circles stamp on my Basic Grey background paper, then I colored in some dots to add a little more dimension. The I added some of my organdy dotted ribbon and some fun primas to add more colors to the card. I have been having a lot of fun creating cards for challenges, they are so addicting! Last night we had a great time at the Paper Pretties Pajama Party! We also got the chance to welcome our new Guest Designers and our wonderful Guest Designer Jackie Pedro joined the Powder Room! Pretties Wednesday!

Today I get to share with you the card I created for Jessie's Paper Pretties Design Team challenge, which was to find my own inspiration for a card. So after a long time of searching through sites and pictures I decided to go with this adorable holiday cake as my inspiration. I also got the chance to use the new Stamp of the Month Trim the Tree stamp featuring the one and only Sophia! Doesn't she look darling in this adorable little dress, reaching up to decorate the tree all by herself....I love it! I added a crystal to replace the little bauble that she is putting on the tree, I think it adds a little more sparkle. I attempted to draw little springs of holly on her little dress, even though the markers started to run a little bit I think the effect is still there. I love how cute she looks, trust me you are going to want to sign up to get here for yourself. Tonight is the Paper Pretties Pajama Party! I have been tagged by two people recently, and I am horrible about tagging others! So I thought I would try to post my taggings today!

Just today the wonderful Michele tagged me from her blog Enchanted Stamper. Michele is one of the many 'Hos', for those of you that have seen me mention this there is a group of ladies that all chat and participate in swaps together (that's the calm version of course). We have become a great friend, she is one of the ladies I have attended a few shoebox swaps with, every time we get together we have so much fun!

I was also tagged with the very same award from the amazing Jessica from the Paper Pretties Team! Not only is she our Design Team Coordinator, but she is an amazing stamper and sweet person. So I thought I might as well combine the two awards, since I did receive the same tag twice! So here we go 7 random/weird facts about me:

1- I am a neat freak! But I have problem where if the mess gets to be too much I have to ignore it or clean it all up completely...thus my room is a disaster.

2- I am a huge HP fan, complete with 2 trips to meet other fellow HP fans. Both trips were amazing and I would go to them again in a heartbeat. I got to see Chicago, so much architecture! Plus I got to go to London and several parts of Scotland for the 7th book release. I had so much fun and met some really great people on both trips.

3- I am a super fast reader, I picked up the Twilight series books 2, 3 and 4 on two Saturday's ago and all three were complete by Tuesday.....plus I did other things as well.

4- This one is funny......my pinky toe acts like a regular pinky, I can make it grab things and bend on its own....odd, but fun to make people squirm sometimes....lol

5- I am a huge DP hoarder, in fact I have been trying to use my DP since I feel bad about hoarding it so much.

6- I can quilt....but I have never completed a quilt. I have three different ones started but I can't seem to sit down and complete one.

7- I have a massive sweet tooth, I try to keep it in check but several candies get me going.

Trick or Treat!

I wanted to play with my Whisker stamp again today, isn't she just the cutest! I decided to make a trick-or-treating Sophia this time. I tried to think of different types of cats and I came up with striped cats, so I pulled out a pall point pen and got to drawing, I think it worked out pretty nicely. And she is on sale now at Paper Pretties in rubber! That's right, Paper Pretties is making the switch to rubber, you know you want those stamps even more now! You can purchase Whiskers now! You Need This One!

When I saw the next stamp to be released at Paper Pretties is all I can think of it....OMG, I need that stamp! Her she is, Whiskers! She is begin released tomorrow (9/27) at Paper Pretties and you just have to have her! This little girl will be our first official rubber stamp and she comes mounted on foam cling, how could you possibly resist. Next week we will be releasing Falling For You to the public at the October 1st Stamping In Your Jammies Party, she was the September Stamp of the Month, and soon you can get her as well! Let me tell you, each upcoming stamp I see from Joni our marvelous illustrator I get more and more excited about creating with these stamps. I love using the monochromatic color schemes, its all matchy-matchy which is so me! Blue Bunny

I received my swap cards from Jules so I thought I would take this time to share my creation with all of you. Jules hosted a Paper Pretties Swap on the Paper Pretties Forum and I decided to create something using Bunny Slippers Sophia who tuned out adorable as always. I wanted a strong color combination so I pulled out my Dark Chocolate PTI paper and paired it with some Tempting Turquoise and finished it all off with some white paper to make a large contrast on the card. I don't normally use bold colors, but I think that bold colors really seem to do wonders with this stamp, isn't she cute in her little slippers! Hope you enjoy my creation! Have a great day!

Tin Time!

Joanne gave us the go ahead to share the cards we created for a Gina K. swap this past month. Mel thought it would be great to create cards that were slightly smaller than the regular ATC card so that they could fit within a Altoid tin and made the suggestion to Joanne who thought it would be perfect for a little swap. I took two spots and got to work, I decided to use my Little Tees set for one of the spots and the new Spooky Silhouette for the second spot. I used some little primas to embellish my Little Tees card and some of that wonderful purple ribbon I got on the Halloween card. Monster House

This past weekend I went to a mini shoebox swap and had a blast so I thought I would share my second card with everyone. I wanted to use the My Favorite Things stamp set Monster Squad since one of the ladies attending loves the set, so I knew she would enjoy it. So I made a fun Halloween card, simple but a lot of fun. I used some of the sticky jewels I found at Michael's for Halloween plus the wonderful ribbon I ordered with this stamps release. I love this ribbon, its a funky purple and black mix, whats not to love! This paper I also picked up at Michael's in the DCWV Halloween Paper Pack....I love those paper packs!

Angel Wings

So if you have been reading along week to week then you know what today brings....Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share with you the ATC I made as issued by Charmaine, if you haven't been to her blog be sure to check it out, she creates some amazing things! I have only made one or two ATCs before, but I had a blast with this one. I decided to use pink with this little Sophia, and she looks darling. Rain and Shimmerz

So this week on the My Favorite Things Forum at SCS Kim and the gang started a whole new list of daily events. Yesterday was Monday which means 'Who's That Girl', each week they will be listing a set to use in conjunction with the challenge. This week its all about Rain and Shine, and yesterdays challenge was to create a card with glitter! Lots of glitter! So I pulled out my brand new paper stack from Die Cuts with a View called Blossoms and Butterflies for my bling. I paper pieced the little dress, her boots, and the doggies little coat then used it as a background paper. I want pink and bling on this card and I think it all worked out nicely. Hope you enjoy!

Isn't She Sweet

It's Monday! And you know what that means…..I get to share with you another Paper Pretties creation! This week I wanted to use this adorable Sophia stamp from the October Stamp of the Month, Angel Wings Sophia. Sweet Cake

Yesterday I had a blast with a few wonderful ladies who live near by. We got together and stamped the day away and for the 'event' we decided to each make one project and two cards so I thought I would share one of my cards tonight. I had the hardest time on what to create for my second card, so after asking my mom to pick a stamp set, this is what I created with it. I was so excited to use these new cupcakes I ordered from Verve, they are just too cute! I used some paper I got at a local scrapbooking store and I think it really works. I colored the cupcakes with my woodless colored pencils and minerial spirits then added a little Spica shine to the cupcake top. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Waste Not Want Not!

So I found a wonderful challenge in the Gina K. Forum and I HAD to play along! The challenge was to create a card using an entire sheet of 6 x 6 DP, so I pulled out my Basic Grey paper and got to work! I have been reaching for this Rupa set over and over again, something about this dress and these purses just catch my eye every time! I love this set, if you haven't seen it before it is called Retro Boutique and its something every girl has to have! I had a little more paper left after the card front so I decided to layer to insert to write on. I also received my Gina K September order tongiht and I am loving the Spooky Silhouettes...it is just too much fun! Hope you enjoy the card, I had a lot of fun creating this one, have a great night!

Shapes and Size

So today is the Design Team Challenge for Paper Pretties, this week we get to share the card we created for Jules challenge which was to create a card that is a different shape...so no squares here! I wanted to create a card in the shape of something I felt this cute little Angle Sophia makes me think of. This stamp is the Stamp of the Month for October, isn't she just charming! When I look at this little girl I think about Christmas and Church, when I think of the two all I can picture is candles, so I thought I would give it a go. A simple shimmery candle, complete with ribbon adornments. After creating the shape for this card I pulled out my ribbon and my woodless colored pencils and got to work. Enjoy!

Howdy Blue

I really do like this Sophia stamp, when I first saw her I wasn't sure if I could do the cowgirl thing, but the more I use this stamp the more I love it! Today I created a shiny Sophia card, complete with metallic May Arts ribbon and metallic paper. I wanted to create a different type of ribbon/bow so I decided to tie two knots facing two different directions to create a different ribbon embellishment. So what do you think? I think its fun a little different, but different is a good thing. Tomorrow is Paper Pretties Wednesday which means I get to create a shaped card as issued by Jules...its going to be great! Wanna Roll?

So, after thinking about it I love the card I made yesterday, but there was just so much more I could do. So after sitting at work and thinking I came up with a great little project to illustrate another fun sentiment included in My Favorite Things set Twisted Sentiments! I used the legs from the Call Me set and the sentiment 'Roll, roll, roll in the hay' then created a little box from Jody's tutorial and cut it out and colored the box to appear to be hay! Then inside the box I had to put something fitting...so I filled it with tootsie rolls! I think this is a little more fitting for this months challenge and I had a blast creating it! Enjoy!

So Wednesday was the My Favorite Things release which means there is a new Guest Designer Challenge, I made sure to complete this months before time was up and I decided to use two sets that I had yet to ink up! I have been waiting to use these two great sets, but I haven't found the perfect challenge for it...until Wednesday night! This months MFT Guest Designer Challenge is to create a "sassy, sarcastic, or ironic" creation....perfect for these two sets! I started coloring with my Koh-i-noor pencils and the rest fell into place. This was the first card I actually completed that I colored with these pencils and I love the effect! Enjoy!

I don't do mornings!

Wonderful title consider this didn't get posted this morning....lol....I had planned on sharing a different card, but after a change in plans I went back to the first card I created for my own challenge. I decided when I issued the Paper Pretties Design Team challenge two weeks ago, that I would have to use an image that the other DT members may over look. I went with this adorable little bird from the Rainy Day Friends set, I stamped about a million of these little guys on half a sheet of CS and got coloring! Took a while to get all those little birdies, but I think it was well worth it. I wanted to accent the yellow birdies with a brighter yellow and another bright color, in came Tempting Turquoise! So here is Miss Sophia in her morning glory, hope you enjoyed today's DT challenge, I had a blast coming up with something for the other wonderful ladies and I love how everyone did with this challenge. Great job ladies, I can't wait to host another challenge!

Paper Pretties Paper Fun!

So today is the Design Team Challenge Day at Paper Pretties and everyone is sharing the cards that were created by the challenge I issued two weeks ago. I challenged the Pretties Girls to create their own Designer Paper and then to use it in a paper piecing application on that same card. You have to check out the other girls creations, they are just fabulous! I will be posting mine later due to a change of plans....but I loved how it came out!

A little Verve Goes a Long Way...

I still have cards to post from the Anni-Verve-sary....lol. That's right here are two more creations from all those great sketch challenges that Julee issued. I love the ribbon I used with the first one, the overall all colors seem to work well together, I like to pair light and dark colors when I get the chance.
This next card I wanted to be simple and clean, quick lines in an organized manner. I was also able to use some of the papers from the previous challenges, a girl has got to use those scraps when ever she can! Leaves Falling

Today is Wednesday so that means its Pretties Wednesday! Today's card challenge was issued by Danielle to make a shaker card. I pulled out my Falling for You Sophia, October's Stamp of the Month Club stamp, if you haven't signed up yet make sure to stop by the Paper Pretties page and learn more. If you do sign up, you know you want to, let Christie know that I sent you her way. For the shaker I used some fall confetti I found in the craft store and some yellow glass beads, for the shaker part I used some of the foam sticky strip I bought through Jody in one of her bulk buys. I wanted to use some fun fall paper, but I couldn't find anything I liked until I remembered that I received a paper grab bag and started digging. Unfortunatly I do not know which company this paper is from but I just love it! I hope to see you all in the Paper Pretties forum on Monday night for our Pajama Party and Howdy Girlfriend stamp release, its going to be a blast! Pretty in Pink

As you can tell I am going through a color stage right now, today its all about pink! This is a lovely Magnolia stamp, called Tilda with Lace Skirt and she is just precious! A few months ago I signed up for the Seasonal Stamp Club from Magnolia and this little girl arrived on my door step in my summer kit. I love fun and cute images and these definitely work, a quick way to create a cute and fun card. Hope you liked today's card, tomorrow is Pretties Wednesday so that means its shaker card time!

Pretty Purple Pretties

So today begins a new week, that's right today is Monday, so that means Paper Pretties! This weekend I got the chance to create a few different altered items for a fun swap on SCS, I can't share any of them yet since the person who I sent these goodies has not yet opened there box, but I can say that I had a lot of fun creating. While creating I used this paper from Paper Trey called the Guide Lines Collection and I loved this pattern. I decided that today's card must use this paper so I dug through my Paper Pretties stamps and pulled out the great stamp Flutterby, featuring Miss Sophia in all of her glory! I used several different shades of purple with this card, the Lavender Moon which is the light purple and Plum Pudding which is a darker shade. Hope you enjoyed today's card! I had a lot of fun creating it!

Sketched Shapes

How about some more sketches?! I really do enjoy creating cards based on a sketch, I don't know why but sketches seem to be inspiring for some reason, it my be my architecture training but who knows. Here are two more cards I created for the Anni-Verve-sary earlier this month, these two cards are my favorite from all 12 that I created, the colors are some of my favorite and I just love how the overall cards came together. The first card I wanted to make the center image come in and out of focus so I used a marker and colored in the sprials using two different shades to get the desired effect. In the card below I used the stars that for some reason intimidate me, and they just look so great layered....don't you just love these stars!Today I went shopping and picked up a few items I plan on altering for the next Paper Pretties release, and I can't wait! Catching Up!

So I have a few things to share with everyone today, two creations from the last Paper Pretties Pajama Party and a blogging award! A fellow 'Ho' Gabby from Confessions of a Stamper awarded me a blogging award, how cool is that! I am horrible at nominating people, so please let me know if you would like an award, I can never decide these things. Thank you very much Gabby, if you have not visited her blog yet be sure to do so, I love her cards! Today she posted her first Magnolia card and it is just too cute!On to the Paper Pretties Pajama Party! We will be hosting a Pajama Party with three wonderful challenge to be hosted by Charmain on the 1st of September. We will be releasing our wonderfully cute Howdy Girlfriend stamp, the August Stamp of the Month, to the general public so you are going to want to place that order if you are not a member of the SoTHC yet. Our monthly release will be later in the month, that date is still to be determined. Above is one of the cards I created for the August Pajama Party challenge, the issued challenge was to create a black and white card with a 'splash' of color. So being the 'smart' person that I am I actually added splashes!Doesn't Copper look ready to party! I created this party favor based on the issued challenge which was to create something for a party. Since the August releases were all about the summer, I created a party favor for a kids pool party, I know if I went to a pool party and got some goodies that looked so bright I would look at it admiringly then tear it open, but it may make a child pause for a second or two. Hope you enjoy this look back, I had a blast at last months Pajama Party and the September Pajama Party is sure to be even better, so join us!

Pretties Ablum!

Its Paper Pretties Wednesday so today is all about Joni's challenge. Two weeks ago Joni, our fabulous illustrator, challenged the Prettie Girls to create a mini album, so after a little consideration I decided to create a coaster album following a wonderful SCS tutorial. I wanted to use some fun fall colors and I was able to use our wonderful Falling For You Sophia who is the September Stamp of the Month. If you have yet to sign up for Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month club what are you waiting for! These images are all super cute, you can't go wrong!Today is my turn to challenge the other Prettie Girls, so after putting on my thinking cap I decided that I would love to see all of the Prettie Girls create their own decorative paper and then use that paper as the main card element and in paper piecing. I have become addicted to finding new fun papers, but nothing is better than creating your own paper, and using it in paper piecing makes it all the more fun. I can't wait to see what the girls come up with! Be sure to drop by the other Pretties Girls to see their mini albums for this weeks challenge.

Last week I participated in the Verve celebration for hitting the one year mark. Big congrats to the Verve Divas for all the amazing sketches, quotes, and creations. I had a blast trying to completed all 12 sketches and I am thrilled to say that I completed all 12 cards and made the deadline. Another Monday has come which means some Paper Pretties fun! If you haven’t noticed yet, Monday is my Paper Pretties day when I try to create at least one card or item using Paper Pretties stamps. Today I was going back and forth on what to create, there were a few choices and I decided to support our Pretties Girl Jessie and participate in the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.
