Hip Hop Hangover!

Yesterday was Unity's Hip Hop Thursday and as every week has been so far, I had a blast chatting with some wonderful ladies and gentlemen in the SCS Unity member forum. Of course there were two wonderful card challenges, I was only able to complete one of the issued challenges but I had a lot of fun! The challenge I completed was to make a card about something sweet, so I thought the stamp 'so & so loves' would be perfect to use! This stamp just came in the mail earlier this week and I love it. Pretties Wednesday

So two weeks ago I challenged the Pretties Girls to use their brayer, I knew the challenge may be a bit hard, but I have seen so many great brayered creations I wanted to try using mine more as well. So I knew if I issued the challenge I would have to play along, sorry it this challenge was a bit much, but its a technique that looks so great when you get the hang of it. So without further ado, here is my brayer creation for today! I decided I wanted to give this little Sophia a nice backdrop for her trip to school, doesn't it look lovely. I think this technique actually worked out pretty nicely today. I used a brayer to create the foreground first then I masked the edges and brayered the sky, then to add a little more I sponged the ground a little bit to add some texture. Then to create he path I added a little bit for sponging in brown to complete the overall look.

A littl Paper Trey

I could have sworn I posted this box forever ago, but it seems I was mistaken, so I thought I would share it today. I was in a Secret Sister Swap where we had to create something for our Secret Sister and my Sister was a massive fan of Reece's Pieces and I wanted to make something that looked super pretty. I used some of my PaperTrey DP and my Floral Frenzy set to create the little flower centers on each piece. Then placed everything into these cute little boxes I ordered a while ago to create different gifts from. I finished it all off with some ribbon and a great tag. Enjoy!

Hip Hop Hangover!

I have been having the greatest time hanging out in the Unity Stamps members forum at SCS every Thursday, in fact, last week Angela thought it would be a good idea to start a Hip Hop Hangover! That's right all the people who take part in Hip Hop on Thursday are welcome to post on their blog with their creations while at Hip Hop and I think its a great idea. I particpated in three challenges yesterday, the sketch challenge of the week plus the challenges hosted by Jeanne which was to create a card with pink and a card with stripes. Last month I signed up for the Unity Kit of the Month and I am so thrilled I did so! All three cards for today are created using the same stamp set, the October Kit of the Month called Thinking about the Good Times. There is such a variety of images to pick from its hard to decide what to stamp first! For the first card I decided to color in these cute little owls and create a more masculine card. For the second card I used the cute little three flowers stamp three times in a row to make a mega image! I used the same bright colors on the card base to complete the fun!For the last card I used this adroable house that also came in my kit, plus one of the several sentiments inside. I really like how this house looks like something you would find down a cobble stone road, so homey and roomy. I can't wait to see what next weeks Hip Hop brings our way, plus what the November kit will have in store for the subscribers. I know that everything coming our way is sure to be great! Hope you enjoyied my Hip Hop Hangover. hopefully I will be able to post something from now on using these fun stamps on Fridays!

Pretties Wednesday on Thrursday!

I am back and I have a super cute card to share! But first I would like to say thank you ladies for the kind words, I really do appreciate it, your the best! Now enough about me....you want to hear about the card! Today I get to share a card I created for Jessie's glitter challenge and I hope you like it. I am not a fan of using glitter because it makes such a mess, but I love the effects of sparkle and shine on cards, it looks so pretty. So in order to not create a mess I used shimmerz for my card, a bit of cheating I think, but I just received 3 colors and I had yet to used them and we can't have that! This week on SCS the challenges are all pink in honor of the cause of the month Chemo Angels! Earlier this week the Pretties Girls decided that we would be donating our cards to the cause instead of sending them off to each other and I am thrilled! I try to help out and send cards when I get a chance and this is a great group to donate to. If you haven't heard before this adorable stamp Trim the Tree is the November Stamp of the Month at Paper Pretties, you can only get her if you sign up for the Stamp of the Month, you have until October 30th at midnight to get in on this offer. She will not be available until December 1st to the general public, so be sure to sign up today and let Christie know I sent you her way! Hope you enjoy today's card, its pink in honor of this weeks challenge on SCS and I think Sophia look super cute with my new Pink Shimmerz! Have a great day!

Hanna Fun

I just realized today that I had yet to share a few of the cards that I created for Hanna Stamps birthday celebration. The first card was created for a button challenge at the release party, and I just had to play along. I have always had buttons but only recently I started using them, I was saving them for some reason and I finally opened up one of the packages I had to create this fun cooking card. For the little bows I used some silver cord I had from SU! and threaded it through each of the button holes and tied a little bow. I love how it came out, it looks so cute and seems to work perfectly with this card.
The second card was an inspiration challenge where we were asked to use something in our home for inspiration. My mom has this beautiful heart shaped wreath that she added some dried flowers to a few years ago that now hangs in the dinning room and I decided to use the wreath for inspiration to create this card. I used the browns and pinks from the wreath and the style to create this card. I even got to use my Martha Stewart edge punch on something and I am thrilled with the results!
Buttons - Stamps: Kiss the Cook from Hanna Stamps; Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Dark Chocolate, Basic Grey Mellow DP; Ink: E00, Y11, E31, B00, BG05, E51; Accessories: Silver Cord, SU! Buttons, Prima Got Flowers

Triple T's!

I just had to use the November Stamp of the Month from Paper Pretties today featuring Sophia in Trim the Tree! I wanted to use the typical Christmas colors, but with a bit of a spin, so I went for my pinky paper and I think it really works well together. I love greens and reds together, but this combination is wonderful as well. I finished off the card with some Satin Dotted Ribbon from PTI, I love the overall look. Enjoy!
Stamps: Trim the Tree from Paper Pretties; Paper: Whisper White, Berry Sorbet, DCWV Christmas Glitter Stack; Ink: E00 Skin White, E11 Bareley Beige, G17 Forest Green, YG03 Yellow Green; Accessories: SU! A Little MFTs

This week I was able to play along with two of the challenges hosted in the My Favorite Things forum on SCS and I had so much fun! I am still working on using my stamps more often instead of pulling out the same sets all the time and these challenges are really helping some rubber get some love! The first challenge this week was the Whose That Girl challenge where we had to use the stamp set Going Places and eyelets so I went to town and used some fun papers that I typically don't use.The second creation was to make a box and use the set Window Shopping and I was in a very Halloween mood the other day so I created a box with a Halloween theme. I even pulled out my fun Halloween Glitter Stack and got to paper piecing, which as you may notice by now, I love it! I have to create a Halloween package for a secret friend though SCS and I plan on sending this box with all sorts of goodies, I hope she enjoys my creation! I hope to play along this week if possible, challenges have started to become something I ave to try!

Happy Birthday!

Today is one of the Prettie Girls Birthday! That's right ladies, Jessie is celebrating her birthday today! Jessie keeps all of us organized and is always there to help us out, at least I know she helps me whenever she can, if you have yet to check out Jessie's blog you are missing out on some amazing work! In fact this week she was revealed as one of the SCS Dirty Girls, I mean it doesn't get bigger than that! So each of the Pretties Girls are bringing the party with them, I was asked to bring the music, so I decided to create a card with Sophia dancing to the music. If you look at her dress I paper pieced her dress so that the dots radiate out from the top of her dress and I know the results! Now that's a party! Be sure to check out all of the ladies blogs to experience the party! Here is all the ladies blogs, go party!
So Miss Jessie have a wonderful Birthday, hope you enjoy YOUR day!

A Little High Hopes

I have a small collection of High Hopes stamps but I never dig them out, but the High Hopes DT has been cranking out some amazing creations recently so I used one of my High Hopes stamps for a friend of mine swap. The swap criteria was to use a stamp that had never been inked up and this Polar bear just jumped to mind. I really like this paper I think it works perfectly for this little guy, what do you think? Then I finished of the card with some snowflake brads and some yummy grey ribbon, which I adore. Just a simple card for today, but a fun one none the less!

Pretties Wednesday!

Today is the day, the Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! Today the card I am sharing is from Jodi's challenge two weeks ago which was to use Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip as the color combination for the card. I don't think I have ever used these colors together but they work wonderfully! I picked Whiskers as my stamp, wanted to mix things up a little bit and give another super cute Sophia some stamping time. I have been having so much fun using layers in other challenges that I thought I would continue the layers with this card, hope you like today's creation! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girls creations, as always they are fabulous! Plus big news! I would like to give Jessica Deidrich a huge welcome, she has joined the Pretties Girls Team and we are thrilled to have her, she is sure to be a huge asset to the team, be sure to drop by her blog and give her a hearty welcome!

This week it is my turn to issue a challenge to the rest of the Paper Pretties Design Team. I had the hardest time picking my challenge, but after some thought I would love to see the Pretties Girls use their brayers! That's right ladies, I have been seeing some amazing brayer action recently and I would love to see what you can do with your Pretties stamps and a brayer! So get to work ladies, I know its going to be amazing!

Falling for MFT

Every week the design team at My Favorite Things hosts an 'Oldie but a Goodie' challenge and I played along this past week. The featured stamp set was Falling for You and I had a blast! I used lots of fun fall colors and I had a lot of fun using my dew drops and these cute fall leaf brads. I added a bit of ribbon to bring the colors from the decorative paper to the foreground. A bit of a different card for me, but I had a lot of fun with it, enjoy!

Pick of the Day

I have such a hard time picking which Paper Pretties stamp to use! My collection has grown leaps and bounds since my first little fella Snowflake all the way to the newest released cute stamp Pick of the Patch. So today I thought I would share the newest Cooper stamp with you today again, perfect for the fall season and the soon to arrive Halloween. I wanted to use bright colors with this little guy since he looks even better in bold bright colors than anything else, so I pulled out this fun Halloween paper and added one of the sentiments included in the Pick of the Patch set 'You're the Pick of the Patch'...prefect! Hope you enjoyed my Pretties creation for today!

Gina K Time!

With the latest Gina K Stamps release their wonderful design team posted three challenges. I was able to get all three challenges completed in time and they were so much fun! So I thought today (since I just got my new Gina K Stamps) I would share with you all three of my creations, so here we go! The first challenge was hosted by Joanne, we had to take her card and use the layout as our sketch. I just had to sit down and give it a try, the sketch was just too cute to ignore. So I pulled out my stamps and nestabilities and got to work! The second challenge was to use the colors red and white with a third color of our choice. Since the first card was a winter theme, I thought I should continue on the theme for all three challenges so I added green to the red and white. I decided to use my super cute Sandy Claws stamp and I was thrilled with the results. The last challenge was to use a new technique where you take glossy paper and run it through your cuttlebug then use ink and a brayer to bring out the texture of the embossed paper. I love the results! I decided to pull out my Snow Dots folder and flip the embossed part, so what is typically above, is actually below, giving this card a different look. Hope you enjoy my creations for today, and don't worry I have all sorts of cards to share!
First Card - Stamps: Got Snow? from Gina K Stamps; Paper: Whisper White, Aqua Mist; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, B12 Ice Blue, B21 Baby Blue, BG10 Cool Shadow, C1 cool grey no. 1, E00 Skin White, G000 Pale Green, G00 Jade Green; Accessories: May Arts Satin Ribbon, Circle Nestabilities

Some Unity Fun!

Yesterday was Thursday which mean that things were HOP HOPping in the Unity forum all of their Design Teams blogs. All day long Angela and the girls from Unity party and I joined in on all the fun again this week. I have had a blast at these get togethers, lots of great conversation and every once in a while there is a challenge with free stamps on the line, so you have to partake! Last week I created a card using my Growing in Unity stamp set, the challenge was to create a card using your favorite sentiment, and its always been 'wish' so the card about is what I created. Then yesterday Jeanne posted a challenge to create a masculine card so I had to play along. I pulled out my Wispy Grass single from my last Unity order and got to work! I used my PTI Spring Moss ink pad and inked my stamp up, then I took one of my Copic markers and colored over a few parts for some pretty results. Hope you have a great day everyone!

Pick of the Patch!

Guess what?! Our newest Paper Pretties stamp Pick of the Patch is on sale now, so run on over and pick this little guy up, he is the cutest pumpkin in the patch by far! With fall arriving and Halloween not to far away this little guy is the prefect addition to your stamp sets! The set has several sentiments and two adorable images, the main image being Cooper in his best outfit. When we had our Pajama Party last week Charmaine issued three wonderful challenges and this little box is one of my creations for her Halloween challenge. I wanted to create something a little different than just a Halloween card so I decided to make a little treat sliding box, complete with chocolate, perfect for any Pajama Party!

If you haven't noticed yet I love glitter stacks of all sorts and having holiday ones are just a no brainer! I hope you enjoy my creation, be sure to add this little guy to your cart at Paper Pretties, he is too wonderful to miss! Pretties Wednesday!

You know what today is....Paper Pretties Wednesday Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share a card with you that I created from Danielle's challenge. She wanted all of the Prettie Girls to make a card using a "Fancy Fold", it could be any type of folder card as long as it was not the standard or normal card. So after thinking about it for a while I remembered seeing a card that had two flaps that I wanted to give a try, so after some searching I found out that it was called the 'Joy Fold' and I went to two. I wanted to create a fall card, but I don't have too much fall paper, instead I went for some fall colors, I think it works! I used my paper from the Pressed Petal Printed Paper Pad and selected some papers that complement each other in the fall spectrum. Thanks for stopping by, be sure to check out all of the Prettie Girls creations, there are some fun folds to be seen! Have a great day!
Stamps: Falling For You from Paper Pretties; Paper: Summer Sunrise, Whisper White, Ballet Blue Pure Poppy, Pressed Petal Printed Paper Pad; Ink: B23 Phthalo Blue, E00 Skin White, E31 Brick Beige, E35 Chamois, R37 Carmine, Y38 Honey; Accessories: Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dew Drops, Mavry Giga Scalloped Punch

Paper Piecing

This past week was the My Favorite Things release, and with any good release is a great challenge! This month MFT was all about paper piecing so I decided to go to town and stretch my possibilities, I pulled out my Here's the Scoop stamp set and got to work! I waded through my paper over and over again and I just kept pulling out this black and white dotted paper and I finally gave in. I decided to use the dotted paper for the couch and I cut out all the little pieces then colored them in seperatly. Then to add another layer I added the criss cross paper in the background as wall paper. I know its a little bold, but I had so much fun with the bright colors contrasting and all the pink, I even went a little over board. Then to complete the card I added three little scoops of ice cream as embellishments. Enjoy!
Stamps: Here's The Scoop from My Favorite Things; Paper: Sweet Blush, Pink Passion, Black, Whisper White, DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies Glitter Paper; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, B00, E00, RV04, RV13, RV21, Y17; Accessories: Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Spica Glitter pen

Falling for Ribbon Weaving

Wednesday was our Paper Pretties Pajama Party and Charmaine really rocked those challenges! The first one of the night was to create a card using a technique that you had never tried before and I happened to received my TJN just the day before and inside was all different possibilities for ribbon. I decided to try the ribbon weaving for the first time and I just love it! Don't be surprised if I use it again, there is a lot of ribbon used, but the final product is just so much fun! I used the new Paper Pretties stamp Falling for You as my main image and some other great fall colors or brown, cream, and celery, a simple but fun card. Hope everyone had a great weekend and made some great cards for WCD. Have a wonderful day!

Time to Share

This week I particpated in the My Favorite Things 'Who's That Girl Challenge" on Monday and I had a blast! This week we had to use the set Walk the Dog and dress her up with dots, so I decided to use the circles stamp on my Basic Grey background paper, then I colored in some dots to add a little more dimension. The I added some of my organdy dotted ribbon and some fun primas to add more colors to the card. I have been having a lot of fun creating cards for challenges, they are so addicting! I was able to participate in all of the card challenges. This card I created for the challenge to use two embellishments, I used only two, but I really loved the stamp and went for it. Pretties Wednesday!

Today I get to share with you the card I created for Jessie's Paper Pretties Design Team challenge, which was to find my own inspiration for a card. So after a long time of searching through sites and pictures I decided to go with this adorable holiday cake as my inspiration. I also got the chance to use the new Stamp of the Month Trim the Tree stamp featuring the one and only Sophia! Doesn't she look darling in this adorable little dress, reaching up to decorate the tree all by herself....I love it! I added a crystal to replace the little bauble that she is putting on the tree, I think it adds a little more sparkle. I attempted to draw little springs of holly on her little dress, even though the markers started to run a little bit I think the effect is still there. I love how cute she looks, trust me you are going to want to sign up to get here for yourself. Tonight is the Paper Pretties Pajama Party! I can't wait to chat with the other Pretties Girls, and the challenges are sure to be a blast, be sure to stop by and join us!
