Let's All Welcome the New Recruits!
That's Right! It is time to announce the new Artful INKables INK girls. First let me just say, I am tickled to have such a fun and talented group coming in to work with us for the next six months. I'm sure you all will be as impressed as we were with their talents, style and their personal blogs. So please welcome the new team by leaving them a big hello either here or on their blogs (which can be reached by clicking on their names).

I am also happy to announce that both Joy Stagg and Holly McMillen have agreed to stay on as members of our newly formed Senior Design Team. They will be taking the reigns of the DT and adding their own special flair to how we do things around here. In other words, they will be taking some of the load off of me...isn't that sweet of them? :) Seriously though they have some great ideas that we will introduce in the next 6 months and I KNOW they will continue to inspire our readers with their creations as they help make Artful INKables an even greater company.

Though we will soon be saying goodbye to the rest of our current DT we will not make today's happy announcement sad by dwelling on that now. Happily, they will be with us for a few more weeks as they help get the new team acclimated and share some final projects and tutorials with us. So we shall save that thought for another day and add to the the festivities by adding a bit of blog candy into the mix. I will draw a name on Sunday from all those commenting here to welcome the new INKgirls and the winner will get the set of her choice! SO...ON with the CELEBRATIONS!

Thank you so much Kristin! I can not wait to get to know the Artful INKables INK girls! They have already been super sweet! I know the next six months are just going to be amazing to say the least!

Time to Celebrate

Good morning everyone! Another birthday is coming up at work, tomorrow in fact, and I was once again asked to create a birthday card for the occasion. In fact, almost once a week now I have a coworker come up to me asking for a card of some sort. So how do I decide what to create? I start with the basics, what colors, what sorts of sentiment, any particular image. Sometimes these questions help and other times it seems to confuse people, so I now send them either to my blog for them to browse or a link to my SCS gallery. For today's card one of the secretaries are turning 60 tomorrow and I was asked to create a red, white, and black card. I was also asked to use the image from my My Favorite Things stamp set Pamper Yourself, unfortunately I can't find that set! So I went searching through my other stamps and decided that although this wasn't the image I had intended to use, nor the sentiment, it would completely work! So this cute set finally got some ink, and since it was a big birthday I had to make it dressy.

Hope you like today's creation and be sure to come back here tomorrow, not only is it Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge time, but tomorrow also kicks off the Sneak Peeks from the August stamp release at Paper Pretties! Here is the release information:

Good Knight

I was sorting through my card gallery and files and I never shared this cute My Favorite Things a few months ago. I created this card for the Guest Designer Challenge where we were asked to create something based off a painting that was posted to the challenge thread as inspriation. When I looked at the painting it made me think of little kids, bright colors, sort of childish, so I decided to use the colors from the painting and create a card that I thought a child would like. I thought the Good Knight set would be perfect for a fun child card, so I made a fun simple and brightly colored scene. This was the first time I tried top ink up this set, and while the card turned out really simple, I really like the overall look. Hope you have a great day! Enjoy!

A Bit of SU!

I never share any of my SU! cards, so I thought today I should do so. About once a month I get together with some wonderful local ladies for a group that we call 'KIT Club'. In fact I've been a member of this group for a few years now, one of the ladies is a demp and she always designs the nicest cards and projects for us to try out. These are some of the things we made a few months ago, we have all been so busy that we haven't seen each other recently, but I can't wait for the next 'meeting'. Hope you enjoy today's cards!

Wish RAK Cards for Troops!

Last weekend in the Wish RAK forum at SCS some wonderful ladies hosted a cards for Troops challenge weekend! I got the chance to be one of the many hostess and I challenged the ladies to create cards following a sketch I created! You know how I love sketches, so when there was still one spot open for hosting the sketch challenge I hopped aboard and got creating! After a little bit of thinking I finally got a simple sketch created that I thought others would enjoy, here is what I came up with:Also as a hostess you needed to create at least two samples showing how to create something for your challenge. Of course since it was challenges based in the Wish RAK forum, you had to use at least one item that came to you from a wish being granted to you. So I shifted through all my wonderful images and picked two that I thought would be a lot of fun!

Isn't this little mouse just the cutest thing! This little guy is from Whiff of Joy, just too cute! I love me some cupcakes, and after receiving some images of this stamp, he is SO on my wish list! I had to try him out in pink, lots and lots of pink! I mean look at that cupcake, super yummy!Of course I also had to use this cutie Stamping Bella stamp, actually shortly after I got some of these images I bought this stamp too....I tend to use the image then decide if the stamp is right for me. Love it! I hope you liked today's cards, I really had a wonderful time hosting the challenge, especially one for such a great cause! Have a beautiful day!

There She Goes Again....

I got the chance to participate in another one of Kate's great Swaps for There She Goes, after the first card I made with this stamp set really turned out nicely, I just had to use it again, with Red as the main color! I love the two tone look I was able to create. I found these tins at Joann's and they were on sale, so they were just perfect for the altering swap I joined for the May stamp release at There She Goes. I think this stamp set is currently my favorite stamp set from There She Goes right now, its so versatile, and the sentiments are so much fun! Here is a close up of just one tin, I really like how it came out, unfortunately I couldn't find any ribbon in my massive stash to match! How upsetting is that! I hope you have a great day!

A Bit of Baby

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s almost the weekend, well sort of; anyway I have another card to share with you today! For the April release at There She Goes Kate hosted a swap on SCS and I just had to sign up! This card I created for the second spot I had in the swap and I just loved how this one turned out! I went for a girlie baby card, and I think that is how this card turned out. I thought that the light yellow and white would accent the pink nicely, plus I love using scallops and ribbon, so of course I pulled both of those goodies out. The little carriage for this cute little birdie was a genius idea for this stamp set! Hope you like today's card, have a great day all!

Masking Pretties Style

It's Wednesday which means that it's time for another wonderful Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share with you the card I create for Chamaine's challenge from two weeks ago. Charmaine challenged the Pretties Girl's to create a card using masking! Masking can be a lot of fun, but I had no idea where to start with this one for some reason. I finally decided I should use a set that I haven't used in a while, so I picked up my Sweets for the Sweet set and added it to a Sending You Love image, I think it worked out, a little messy, but it will do. Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations!
