Har Repotter Digi Release and Blog Hop with Bugaboo!

The day is finally here, that's right Bugaboo Stamps is having a massive blog hop! If you getting here from Joy Stagg's blog then you are on the right track! If you are just hopping in at my blog, be sure to head on over to Jodie Mackrell's blog, that's where today's Hop is kicking off and you don't want to miss anything along the way!

For my card today I am show casing one of our new images! You may know her from the popular series....and if you anything like me you love her, we are calling her 'The Brave One'! Today Bugaboo Stamps is releasing 7 new digital images for our Har Repotter inspired line! The first installment of the 7th movie is coming out next month and if you are anything like my you are thrilled about it! I have been an avid Harry Potter fan for years, ever since I first read the books back when my sister was in elementary school, she is now in college and I still love the series! Here is something you might not know about me...I used to be a moderator and staff member of a Harry Potter website years ago, yup that's right! I would help out on the forum, brain storm ideas for website activities, and create graphics to use on the page as needed. Just something for you to think about!

When I first saw this image I had to color her in right away, so I used the colors of red and gold, and added more of those shades on only in her robes and dress but in the card base and paper choices as well. I also created today's card based on the current Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge! Now on to more fun! You have four chances to win digis today! As you're hopping today, do the following:

1. Comment on each blog - one random commenter will win one (1) image of their choice!

2. HUNT DOWN HAGRID: Take note of how many Hagrid pictures are in the hop- e-mail BugabooChallenges@gmail.com with your answer by 10/16/2010 at 7:00 AM EST. One winner will be drawn from all the correct answers to win one (1) image of their choice! Write in your subject line: HUNT DOWN HAGRID pictures.

3. Take note of the Harry Potter related questions, write down the answers to all the questions, and e-mail your answers to BugabooChallenges@gmail.com by 10/16/2010 at 7:00 AM EST. One winner will be drawn from all the correct answer to win seven (7) images of their choice. **You will also get to participate as a guest designer for an upcoming challenge!! Write in your subject line: Harry Potter related questions.

**You need to send separate e-mails for #2 and #3, if you combine them, you will not be eligible for the drawing

4. Make a Harry Potter-inspired project and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, by 10/16/2010 at 7:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs - seven (7), four (4), or two (2) digital images of their choice.

So with all that being said, please hop on over to the next stop on the Blog Hop today... Tammy Miller! I know she will have something fabulous for you!

An Inspiration Challenge!

So today is Sunday which means that it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, the 'Ho's', created a challenge blog called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration! So for our challenge this week we challenge you to create a card based on the above picture, a bit of fun inspiration! I love the darker colors in this image with the purple tones, so I pulled out my Artful INKables stamp set Plant Prints! I stamped my image in Rich Razzleberry and then added some Memento Tuxedo Black to the edges to darken the outer part of the image. I also wanted to keep the card the same tones so I used only black and rich razzleberry, I think the whole card ended up just as I intended, I love when that happens!

Be sure to check out the rest of our great group of Hos, I know their creations will be fabulous!

You are going to love these ladies and all of their creations and I can't wait to see what you create along with us! Hope to see you back here next Sunday for our next challenge! Have a wonderful day all!

Bugaboo New Release!

Today is Tuesday, which means that it's time for a brand new release at Bugaboo Stamps! That's right today we are releasing all new images at the Bugaboo Store! For my card today I used this super fun Stella image, isn't she just TOO funny! I will admit that for the longest time Stella intimidated me, but man these images are just too fun to resist! Since she is dressed as a Fairy I went with lots of soft and sweet colors from the Olivia Basic Grey paper pad, and I paired them with these sweet purple pearls that I found.

I also entered this card into the current Stamp Something Challenge, which for this week is to create something using a digital image, I do that all the time! So I thought this card would be perfect for this challenge!

Operation Write Home Birthday Bash with Bugaboo Stamps!

Guess what?! Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring a challenge for Operation Write Home's Birthday Bash! I think this is such a great cause and as soon as I heard about it I wanted to help as well, so I started making cards to donate. Here is one of the cards I made, it's simple but I think a lot of fun! In fact we are hosting a challenge, and our challenge is to create a card for holidays in general so it does not have to be a Christmas card it could be a Kwanzaa or Hanukkah card as well so I hope you will join us!Here is all sorts of information about this fabulous organization, Operation Write Home:

Operation Write Home is an organization that sends blank handmade greeting cards for all occasions to deployed service members to write home on. They’ve mailed approximately 500,000 cards so far—and are still going strong! Our challenge to you is to make cards to send to them for our nation’s heroes.

Please read the basic guidelines here; it’s important to; it’s important especially to remember that glitter is NOT allowed (it’s a safety hazard to our heroes), handmade cards only, and OWH needs A2 sized cards. “Operation Write Home” needs to be on the backs of your cards—it can be stamped, handwritten, or printed on labels. Please include a packing slip inside your box or envelope, and mail them to any of their shippers listed on the Mailroom page. In your package, you can also include notes written to a deployed service member.

Please consider entering a card for Operation Write Home into Jo-Ann’s Craft for a Cause Contest. You can win $1500, and OWH could win $50,000! How many boxes would that ship! Please see their site for detailed rules and regulations.

If you get the chance please join us and help donate and participate in our challenge! The troops need our support, and if we can make at least one person smile with our cards, it really is what our cards are all about. I hope you consider this, at least read the information about Operation Write Home! Be sure to visit the Bugaboo Blog to see some more great holiday creations and find out more details about this organization and our challenge! Hope you have a great weekend!
