Toonie Tuesdays at Paper Pretties!

Toonie Tuesdays or $2 Tuesdays for those of you in the US. In case you don't know a 'toonie' is the Canadian $2 coin (I had no idea! How about you?)

Every Tuesday we will have a special on in the Paper Pretties store - 1 or 2 (or maybe more items, you never know) are on sale for only $2.00. These items are deeply discounted and are all great additions to your paper crafting supplies.

Today's special is the Queen & Company Think Pink buttons:

Do you have these yet? If you don't they are so much fun, I know I have some of these in my craft room and I am horrible at using them because then I won't have anything to horde, but at this price I may have to go and order some more!

Be sure to check out the Paper Pretties Store and see these great buttons!

Volturi are Watching...

I had scheduled this post to set up itself this weekend but unfortunately if never posted. I don't know about you but I was pretty busy this weekend which believe it or not ended up in a non-stamping weekend, I know I am shocked too! I spent a lot of time with my family and some friends, and due to that I wasn't on the computer either, but here I am now getting this card finally up for all to see!
The current Think INK challenge from Artful INKables is all about taking an album cover and creating a card based on one, so I pulled up the Amazon CD sales page and picked this pretty neat CD cover as my inspiration. So for my card I thought the new Twilight inspired stamp set Epic Tales would be perfect! I created a little template for the clouds background and stamped one solid image of these piercing eyes at the center of the card. Now, no card is complete without a sentiment, so I used the sentiment "The Volturi are watching", and with one look at this card you can feel their gaze!

I do hope that you will play along with us, there is still plenty of time to get your creations in, I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to head on over to the Artful INKables Blog for all the great details to play along! Have a wonderful day all!

1. Please use only original artwork designed for this challenge - not previously made for other challenges, swaps, etc. Feel free to combine your project for this challenge with any other challenges, only required to be something new.

2. You may submit as many entries as you like, just make sure that they are all different.

3. Challenges will be posted every Sunday and will run til 11pm EST the following Saturday. This should give you plenty of time to get them done and entered.

4. Post your link directly to the post for this challenge project - not a general link to your blog - to Mr. Linky.

So for my card I used this adorable stamp Lilith from Kraftin' Kimme stamps and a new punch I picked up this weekend. I used this great Lindt Truffle packaging that I had used this past holiday to create some fun little gifts. I took the punch and used the baggie the truffles come in as my DP, super simple and a lot of fun, plus this paper is different colors in it so it gives it a great shaded look. Be sure to check out the rest of our great group of Hos!

Paper Pretties Release day!

The day is finally here! Today is the April release day at Paper Pretties! This month we are releasing some amazing stamp sets, like we typically do of course! We are releasing 5 fabulous rubber stamp sets and three amazing digis, plus we are previewing our next Sophia! Today I get the thrill of sharing with you our newest Sophia, Fan-Tastic! This girl is just too cute! As soon as I saw here during our previews I knew that I was going to have a blast creating things with her, in fact today I have created an altered take-out container!

I recently found a wonderful bakery near by and they package their cupcakes in these adorable take out containers! I stopped by to get a friend of mine something sweet on her birthday and now it has become my favorite bakery, plus they are a nut-free environment which I love since I do have a pretty bad allergy to nuts, knowing that there are no nuts in my baked goods is a great relief!I had so much fun with my altered box, but I just couldn't put down these new images so I also created a card using our other new Sophia, Your Maaarvelous! This little girl so reminds me of when I used to play dress up and I simply love her! Of course I don't think I had a fabulous fur coat, but all the same she is too cute! I love the over sized hat, shoes and of course this wonderful coat! That Sophia is always stylin!

I do hope you enjoyed my creations for today, be sure to check out the Paper Pretties site to see all the new stamps and be sure to place an order, you know you want to! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Pretty, Pretty Peacock

Good morning all! Once again the weekend has arrived and I am thrilled to relax a bit, and with every Saturday comes a Artful INKables post! For my card today I wanted to share with you the design I created for a card front swap that I am participating in while at a Shoebox swap today! In fact, most of you will be reading this while I am at the SBS! I decided to use the fabulous new Peacock set from Artful INKables called Paisleys & Peacocks as my main image, I just simply love this set!
I wanted to go with bright and fun colors in my Peacock so I used a light blue, a pale yellow, and a green for the outer part of the feathers. I used one of my new Nestabilities, Labels Eleven, for the main piece and then sponged the edges in a light blue. I got this wonderful ribbon that I think makes the whole look pop a bit more, and no card is complete with out some fun embellishments, so I used these great Prima flowers I picked up from my local Michael's. I had so much fun creating todays card, and I hope you love it as much as I do! Have a wonderful day all, see you all soon!
Stamps: Paisleys & Peacocks from Artful INKables; Paper: Whisper White, Sping Rain, Certianly Celery, America Crafts a La Carte Pumpernickle; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, B12 Light Blue, Y11 Pale Yellow, G24 Willow; Accessories: Pop Dots, Sponge, Nestabilities Lable Eleven, Grosgrain Ribbon, Prima Flowers

I used this great paper from the Green Stack that DCWV cam our with, it includes this cute DP with this fabulous owl on it, perfect for this particular birthday card! I decided that this piece of DP would not only be my inspiration for today's card, but I would use the piece as a background too! Last week I shared with you a card I created for the Bugaboo Challenge, today I wanted to share with you a card I created using Bugaboo Stamps for a great digi card swap hosted by Michele on SCS, in fact Michele is one of my good friends and fellow 'Hos' too. The both of us will be traveling to a shoe box swap this weekend for a day of card making fun, I have been busy working on the card fronts and card kits for my projects, so I decided to show you a card I created two weekends ago when I bought this cutie digi image!

This adorable little girl is from the Bugaboo Brats line, specifically BB Desiree. When this line showed up on the Bugaboo Site I had to order a few, they are just too fun and cute to pass up! I went with some bright colors on this card since I was making a fun kids card, I added some red rhinestones and a great big white satin bow to finish off this card. I do hope you like it, and I hope that all the ladies who receive one of my cards in the digi card swap enjoy this creation too! Have a great day all!

Since today is Sunday it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, to who we call the 'Ho's', kicked off a new challenge blog last Sunday, called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog!So for our fifth week our challenge we are using this great sketch created by Scrappy! Here are all the rules for our challenge so that you too can play along:

Linky.
5. Most importantly: HAVE FUN!! If you have any questions or comments, please let us know, we are here to be as supportive and inspiring as we can:)

So for my card I used this adorable stamp set called Loads of Love from There She Goes! Jules' Birthday Hop!

Today is a Pretties Birthday Hop! Today our fabulous Jules'! That's right, its time for a Pretties Birthday Celebration! We are kicking things off at Christie's blog, so if you haven't started there head on over, if you are joining me from Jana's blog then you found the right place!

I decided to use this fabulous Sophia, Under the Sea, for my main image to create this fun birthday card for Jules! I went with a teal and pink color combination, which was a lot of fun to color! I didn't want to use the typical birthday image, you know a cake or balloons, I wanted to do something bright and cheery, especially with spring trying to sneak it's way back into the area. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jules' earlier this year in the fall and she was more wonderful then I thought she would be, I do hope she has an amazing brithday, cheers! I can't wait to see what the other ladies decided to create, check out the other Pretties Girl's creations:

I used lots of pink and had a blast with a bit of purple punches, I hope you enjoyed my creation!

I have to apologize for my absence for the last two days. I had this post scheduled and for some reason never posted and I was supposed to post something on Sunday for the Crafty Ho's Challenge, but I lost power on Saturday and it didn't return until Sunday, of course the power outage made the sump pump turn off, so the basement flooded and we got a lovely phone call from the power company telling us that for the next 24 hours we were subject to random power outages. Needless to say I didn't turn my computer on until today, and only briefly.

I wanted to share with you this little address book I made using the Any Birdie Home set from Artful INKables, I had something else planned to share on Saturday, but when I went shopping this weekend I found this cute little address book and just had to use it! Loving Chemistry

Good morning all! For today I wanted to share with you the card I created for Joy's Card Kit Swap! I have been enjoying this swap immensely! I am in two groups and for the second group I wanted to use this adorable set that was release in February from There She Goes for Valentine's Day. Not only do I think this set is wonderful, but added to the great images is the fact that my friend Michele worked with Jessica to bring about such a fun theme to an entire set of stamps! I wasn't sure where to start with this one, but after finding this great DP at Michael's I knew what the color palette had to be simply Cream, Pink, Blue, and Green! I just love the graphic look to this paper, it really pops. I used my Nestabilities to cut and emboss my main image then I used pop dots to bump it out off the base. I also used my Illuminate Smooch over all three beakers to add some shine and finished the card off with some simple ribbon! I got these great straight pins but I haven't had a use for them, then I saw them while I was making this card and just had to use them to finish it off, I pulled out the Prima flowers that I found on clearance this weekend and added the flowers to the pins before inserting it into the ribbon that fronted the card. I do hope you enjoy this card, I really had a lot of fun with this one! Have a wonderful day all!
Stamps: Chemistry from There She Goes; Paper: Rustic Cream, Sweet Blush, America Crafts A La Carte Croissant; Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, B21 Baby Blue, C1 Cool Grey No. 1, G94 Grayish Olive, RV11 Pink; Accessories: Pop Dots, Maya Road Pins, Prima Flowers Teal, Sweet Blush Grosgrain Ribbon, Large Scalloped and Regular Nestabilities, Illuminate Smooch

Six Pack Butterflies!

Since it's Sunday morning, it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge, and this week is an interesting one. The theme of the week is 'Six Pack' to be interpreted in any way you seem fit. I decided to create a six 'pack' of butterflies! I used my new stamp set caller Butterfly Dreams from Paper Trey, this set is just so pretty and I decided to pick three colors and use them for the card. I really like how this one turned out, I picked the six larger butterflies in the stamp set and stamped two in Lemon Tart, two in Summer Sunrise, and two in Orange Zest. I also used some fun matching floral DP to go with the 'pack' of butterflies, after I stamped each image I cut them out, folded them and then used glue dots to attach them to the background. Be sure to check out the Crafty Ho Challenge Blog to see who else played along this week, everyone did a great job!
