Oldie But Goodie Day!

Today is Thursday, which means that today is Oldie But Goodie day at Bugaboo Stamps! Now Oldie But Goodie Day means that team members are sharing creations they made using stamps that are not new, but those good ol' stamps that are a part of the Bugaboo Stamps collection!

For my card today I decided to use this fun image, A Kids View Too Fireman Fire Truck! My grandpa had a birthday recently and I was asked to make him a birthday card, he is a retired fireman so I thought that this image would be perfect and I am happy to report that he hasn't stopped talking about his cards since he opened them up. I thought this paper was simple but had a lot of clean lines, so it worked well.

I had so much fun with this, I hope you enjoy my card and be sure to hop on over to the Bugaboo Blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams creations! I do hope you like my Oldie But Goodies today, I am still having so much fun with these images! Have a great day all!

This card has been entered into the following challenges: Digital Tuesday Challenge - For the Kids; Woodware USA - Clean and Simple.
Stamps: AKV Too Fireman from Bugaboo Stamps; Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Spring DP; Ink: E00 Skin White, R29 Lipstick Red, E55 Light Caramel, Y08 Acid Yellow, N1 Neutral Gray No. 1, N3 Neutral Gray No. 3; Accessories: Pop Dots

Bugaboo Brats New Release!

It's Tuesday which means that it is time for a New Release at Bugaboo Stamps! That's right today we are releasing all new images at the Bugaboo Store! This new set is fabulous, and one of my favorite lines from Bugaboo, we have more Bugaboo Brats plus furniture and backgrounds too today! How exciting is that?! I am loving this little lady, she is super cute!

I have always been a huge fan of Jodie's Bugaboo Brats, these cute kids just make me smile and when I saw them on the list of upcoming images I get all excited, it's a fabulous feeling! I had SO much fun with this card, plus I finally got the chance to use one of the fun accessories that you can get for the Brats! I used this fun pile of books, she is obviously a reader like me. I do enjoy sketch challenges, so when I sat down to work on this card I decided to follow this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch! I decided to cut into my fun new Hopscotch Designer Paper from Basic Gray, I picked up this paper pad a few weeks ago at my LSS and I keep looking at it, it's such a fun pad! Plus I pulled out some of my Prima flowers to finish off the sketch properly, and of course now flower is complete without a center so I used one of my self adhesive rhinestones for the center and accents on the card layers.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today, I really had a lot of fun with this one! Be sure to check out the Bugaboo Blog and see the other DTs Members creations with today's new images, you are going to love these images! Have a great day and I hope that you enjoyed today's card fun!

Paper Pretties Cause and Crafty Ho's Challenge

So today is Sunday which means that it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, the 'Ho's', created a challenge blog called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration! This week we are challenging you to create a card using the picture below as inspiration! If you haven't heard yet Paper Pretties is offering a fabulous Easter digi stamp set for only $7 all of the proceeds from the sale of this set (minus Paypal fees) will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure for Alex and everyone else suffering from this disease! Here is what Heather said about this fabulous cause:

My good friend Chava (who I've known for more than 30 years) has a 3 1/2 year old son, Alex. Shortly after Alex was born, he was diagnosed with having Cystic Fibrosis. For those of you unfamiliar with CF here is a brief description:

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that: clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

Here is where the exciting part comes in...one of our Paper Pretties illustrators, Joni Stringfield, has drawn an ADORABLE Easter set called EASTER BABIES. We will be selling this set as a DIGITAL IMAGE SET. All of the proceeds from the sale of this set (minus Paypal fees) will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure for Alex and everyone else suffering from this disease!

If you get the chance, I would suggest picking up this set, you get so many adorable images and it all goes towards a fabulous cause, plus only $7, what a deal! Here is the proof of all that you get in this great set! For my card today I used the larger image of the three bunnies and the cute little chicks too! I also used my Dizzy Doily which makes such a pretty design, I thought it worked so well with the sweet Easter images and these bring colors.

Be sure to check out the rest of our great group of Hos, I know their creations will be fabulous!

You are going to love these ladies and all of their creations and I can't wait to see what you create along with us! Hope to see you back here next Sunday for our next challenge! Have a wonderful day all!

A MFT Sketch and Color Throwndown Creation!

There are so many challenges out there that I really wish I had more time to play along with, but this weekend I was able to sit down and create one card that qualifies for two super fun challenges! Each week My Favorite Things hosts a fabulous sketch challenge on their Blog and the MFT Member Company Forum on SCS. It seems that each week I copy the sketch and book mark the entry thread but time runs away from me before I get the sketch completed leaving my desk in pieces of a to be competed MFT card! Here is this weeks sketch that I got the chance to finally play along with! Each week I also write down and save the newest Color Throwdown Challenge, these ladies make the nicest color combinations and they always seem to make me pull out colors I never seem to touch. This weeks colors included More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant/Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, and Early Espresso. I don't actually think I own most of these colors, but what I did was pull colors that I thought were very close to the shade and work with them, I think this combo was a bit of a stretch for me, but I really did enjoy challenging myself on this one.

I inked up this adorable little girl image from My Favorite Things called Being Cute is What I do, this little girl just makes me smile! I love her little pig tails and I thought that she would look great in a paper pieced top so I used some of the paper from the Echo Park Springtime DP I also used the same paper for the background of this card. I pulled out some fun Mat Arts linen ribbon and created a big bow and of course since I got the mini rolled rose die, so it HAD to be used!

I had a lot of fun getting the chance to play along with some super fun challenges this weekend, I am hoping that this chance will occur more often. I hope you like today's card and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Stamps: Being Cute is What I Do from My Favorite Things; Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Spring Green, More Mustard, Echo Park Springtime DP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, E97 Deep Orange, E00 Skin White, YG17 Grass Green, V09 Violet; Accessories: Glue Dots, Pop Dots, May Arts Linen Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Mini Rolled Rose Die from MFT

For my card today I used this sweet Skelekinz image! I used my Labels Ten from Nestabilities die so that my main image would stand out, and have some scallops as well. Then I pulled out my MFT scalloped scallop die, a nice touch I think, and used it as a layering accent to the right of my main image. Of course no Skelekinz card is complete without a bit of bling so I added some to the scallops on the main image itself.

I hope you enjoyed my creation for today, I can't wait to see what you create for this weeks challenge! Have a fabulous weekend all!

I am so excited that today marks the first Whimsy and Stars Studio release for this Design Team term! To say that I love this image is an understatement, she is just fabulous! Today we are releasing this cutie, Molly's Cupcake! You may recognize this image from our Design Team badge, I know when I saw the badge I was hoping that she would be released as a digi!
I had a lot of fun with today's image, and I also go the chance to play along with this months Sketch for You to Try and I think it works well with this fun image! I loved being able to use this DP and some different colors then I normally use for this card, I also love how there were just so many layers to this sketch, it gave me a lot of choices to make and I enjoyed all of them.
I realize it might be a bit hard, but I wanted to point out the Illuminate Smooch I used on Molly's outfit, flower on her hat, and the cupcake in her hand. It is still a bit hard to see, but the close up also gives you a more detailed look at how adorable Mabelle's images are! I simply can not wait to see what it so come next! Be sure to stop by the Whimsy and Stars Studio Blog and see all the fabulous creations by our Design Team members, I know that this group will be sharing some stunning work. This new set is fabulous, and one of my favorite lines from Bugaboo, we have more Bobbleheads today! How exciting is that?! I am loving this little lady, she is super cute!

I love how much fun these Bobblehead images are that Jodie has been drawing, every time I see Bobblehead on the list of upcoming images I get all excited, it's a fabulous feeling! I had SO much fun with this card. I haven't been able to sit down and enter one of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenges in a while and when I saw this weeks sketch I thought that it just worked perfectly with today's release!I decided to cut into my fun new Hopscotch Designer Paper from Basic Gray, I picked up this paper pad a week or two ago at my LSS and I keep looking at it longingly, but I haven't been able to cut into it for some reason. I think between this weeks sketch and this adorable image I was able to rip out a sheet of DP and get to work. I also picked up the Rolled Die from MFTs that I haven't been able to get to work properly, but with a bit of work I got this rose to come together for today's card as well! I do hope that you liked where I went with this image, it was delightful to say the least to create this one!

Paper Pretties Whatnots...Tuesday Time!

Good morning! Today is Tuesday, which means that I get to share with you more 'Monday Whatnots' form Paper Pretties! Now, that sentence may have confused you a little bit, so here is a bit more information as to why I am sharing a 'Monday Whatnot' on Tuesday. With our new Digi Design Team at Paper Pretties we have so many wonderfully talented Design Team members that we decided to spread all the Digi creations over the course of two days. You will get to enjoy samples from half of the Design Team on Monday, and the other half on Tuesday, how great is that?!
Yesterday at Paper Pretties we released Dunker and Bugle Bear. For my card this week I decided to use Dunker who I think is simply perfect for the current NCAA Basketball standings. Now, my brother goes to K State, and while I don't watch basketball that often I have been watching a lot of this year's games and I must say that there have been some good games. So in an effort to support the team a bit I decided to use the school color, Purple! Plus, this weeks new image uses a Cat dunking, and K State is the Cougars, enough said!

I hope you enjoyed my creation for today, be sure to come back on Tuesday to see more great Whatnots from Paper Pretties! Have a great day!
