Try a New Technique!

Today the challenge at SCS was to stamp and image and use your aquapainter (or paint brush) to blur the lines of your stamped image. This was a lot of fun to do, so I thought I would share my creation with all of you today. I used the set Sketches from Stampin Up to create the main image and the words. I stamped the image in Brillant Blue and mounted the words on Brocade Blue. Using my aquapainter I only blured the chair the woman is sitting on, her hat and the birds flying over her. I then chose my card color or So Saffron and placed a diagonally cut piece of background paper. As a final touch I added Grosgrain Ribbon (SU) to the right side. TFL!

Crafting Meets Cheer Leaders...

Today I woke up bright and early to sell some of the many things I make at a Cheer Leading competition that was being hosted at my old High School. The entire day was crazy! Girls running all over, lots of yelling and clapping, several disasters and I sold nothing! Yes, nothing at all. On the plus side I did not pay for the table, my SU Demo rented the table and invited me to join her so that the table would be filled. Basically I spent the day sitting in a loud and crowed hallway chatting with my friend and demo. It was a nice day, but I am now exhausted!

I also realized that I have no pictures up here! We can't have that now can we, so here are some things I've made. The first one is hard to see but it is a three layer card, I think it turned out to be wonderful! All SU products paper, inks and stamp set.

The next image is of a lunch tin I decorated using the Enchante paper from the Stampin Up Winter Mini. I added white organdy ribbon and celery grosgrain ribbon to complete the look. I was able to order eight lunch tins before the sale at CreativExpress was complete and they are currently being shipped. I can't wait to get them all dressed up!
On a final note for today...my Bella is being shipped on Monday! I can not wait to get it! I want to get stamping with it, I may even send in a card or two to the Member Only Gallery over at Paper Pretties! Just remember is you use my name when you sign up your registration fee, $7.50 is waived, but you have to say that Jackie sent you there! Happy Stamping!

Bellas! Primas! & Paper Pretties!

Yes, you have read right! I have recently discovered all three things listed above. I've been roaming around the online stamping world discovering things as I go, so I thought I should share all of my new found knowledge with each and every one of you.

This past weekend after viewing countless cards with Primas on them I set out to find some for myself. I found none at my local craft stores so I turned to SCS to see if anyone could recommend a site I could order from. What I found was astonishing! I discovered the Ribbon Addict herself, Jody. She has hosted many ribbon shares and had just completed hosting a Prima share. I read her post stating that she had a few spots left in her massive Prima share and jumped at the chance. Needless to say $97.00 later I have three different brands each with their own style coming my way some time in March! YAY!

I also discovered the wonderful stamps and artwork created by the ever talented Emabella who creates Stamping Bella. If you have not been sucked in by the craze yet, I warn you, it is coming to find you! LOL...The stamps are adorable, cute, fun and I can't wait till the one I ordered, yes you read correctly I ordered only one for myself, to arrive!

After finding Bella herself I was interested in some of the links offered on Emabella's blog, particularly Christie's site. I had found Paper Pretties a card of the month club that sends members one package a month. You can choose your box size, basic and large, and receive all sorts of fun things every month. Each month you receive one Bella stamp (Yay! More Bella's) and supplies to make the same card six times over. If you haven't signed up I suggest you do so! If you do decide to sign-up, please let her know that "Jackie Rakoski" sent you her way.

The links to all of these pages can be found under my Stamping Ladies or Links. That is all for now...I am going to catch up on my SCS Challenges and complete some projects for a craft fair I will be at tomorrow! Happy Stamping!

I Have Arrived!

After roaming around the world of blogs, all stamping blogs of course, I decided I wanted in! So I registered myself for a blog! I'm so excited. I hope to post some information about me and my stamping ways and I look forward to getting to know some of you better as well. I am active in Splitcoast Stampers, after recently finding it again, and I can't wait to come home for work or school to see what is going on in the stamping world! That's all for now!

Happy Stamping!
