Floaty Girl!

The summer will soon be coming to a close, in fact since school has started here they have closed the local pools. Totally not fair, I am not in school, why can't I go to the pool?! Anyway, since summer is quickly coming to an end I wanted to make another fun and summery card while I still can! So for my card today I pulled out on of my Whimsy and Stars Studio images and played!

I used this cute little girl image called Floaty Girl, she is perfect for a summer fun image! Plus, I played along with the current Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge! I love a good sketch challenge and I thought that this one would be a lot of fun to play along with! I did rotate the sketch, in fact I uploaded it here in the direction I made my card so you can see what I did. I also finally got to use one of these adorable crocheted flowers I have, too cute!

I hope you like today's bright and summery card! Enjoy your day and thank you for stopping by!

Birdhouse Girly!

Today I have a sweet card using an adorable little girl image from Whimsy and Stars Studio called Birdhouse Girly, she is so darn cute!

I stared to base my card off of the current Mojo Monday sketch, but it some how shifted to be this, so part of the layout works, I just don't have the strip of designer paper edged with scallops. I really do like the softness of this paper from Basic Grey and I think it was a perfect pair for this image and the colors I had used.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I do hope you enjoyed the card I shared with all of you today. Have a fabulous day!

Whimsy and Stars Studios and Try a New Tecnique

Today I wanted to share a card I was able to make yesterday that follows the current Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS! I decided to use this adorable little fairy from Whimsy and Stars Studio! This sweet image is called Posie Fairy, she is so darn cute!I have a blast each time I sit down and color in one of Mabelle's images, each image is so detailed and fun to work with. For this image I used some of My Mind's Eye Life of the Party designer paper and created a "Z-Fold" card. I can honestly not recall the last time I made a card like this, but I think it was at a card class I took forever ago. It's sort of silly how you forget some of the basic folds that really make a card so different. I had a lot of fun with this card, I used my ticket corner punch and added some pearls to each corner plus I used my Labels Four Nestabilities to cut the main image out, and this time instead of using a sponge to create a color in the background I outlined the image in a very light blue Copic marker and then I went back and dotted in some color. It is a bit hard to see the effect it created, but it looks so pretty in person. Then to complete the entire card I tied some satin ribbon, this really was such a fun card to make.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I do hope you enjoyed the card I shared with all of you today. Have a fabulous day!

Good morning all! Today is Sunday, which means that it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, the 'Ho's', created a challenge blog called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration! This week our challenge is create a card using the theme 'BBQ'!

For my card today I decided to use sweet Whimsy and Stars Studio image, Watermelon Boy. Whenever I think about a BBQ I just know that there will be watermelon, and if their are not plans for one, I make sure to bring one myself! I just don't feel like a BBQ is complete without some watermelon. Plus I also decided to use this card for two other challenge going on right now as well! I followed the current Taylored Expressions Sketch which is just so darn fun to play along with, and I think works perfectly with this image, plus I also used the current Ribbon Carousel Challenge as well which is "Happy Birthday America"! I thought that since this weekend is the 4th of July and I will be going to several BBQ's using a red, white, and blue color scheme would be perfect for the holiday!

Good morning all! Today I have a card for you using one of the soon to be released images from Whimsy and Stars Studio! You are going to LOVE this release, each image is cuter then the last, and they are all so much fun to work with!

I have a blast each time I sit down and color in one of Mabelle's images, each image is so detailed and fun to work with. For this image I used one of my Nestabilities dies as well as some Echo Park Summertime designer paper that I thought really matched this image. I loved the playful scene and the balloons as well that mimicked the image itself. I pulled a few different colors out from the designer paper and softened the image with using lighter shades, as well as matching some fun ribbon for some cute bows as an accent.

A Bit of Whimsy Mojo

Good morning all! Today I am sharing with you a card I made using one of the newly release Whimsy and Stars Studio spring images! This cutie is called Rosie Ballerina! It's just such a sweet image that it just makes me smile, oh heck they all make me smile!
I have a blast each time I sit down and color in one of Mabelle's images, each image is so detailed and fun to work with. For this image I wanted to play along with the current Mojo Monday challenge! I think that this sketch is pretty neat, I liked the idea of using strips of paper to make the background for my card, so I pulled out a bunch of scraps from a handful of my recent cards and added one more pattern to get the background. I really like how the dots worked so well with both this image and the flowers in the pattern I added from the same designer paper pad. I almost didn't add the ribbon since I couldn't find one ribbon I felt like worked, but as I was taking my photo I spied this stitched ribbon and adjusted the card to add it in, now I am glad I did so.

Have you checked out the Whimsy and Stars Studio Store yet? Well if you haven't, what are you waiting for! You are going to love these fun images, they all make me smile, I know they will do the same for you! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simple enough, the possibilities are almost endless!

For my card today I decided to use this adorable image called Superboy from Whimsy and Stars Studio! I think that this little boy is beyond adorable and I wanted to make a card that used all boy colors and stars in some way too so I used this fun designer paper from Bo Bunny called Blast Off! I just think that this green dotted paper matched perfectly for the look I was going for, and of course I added twine as well for the challenge!

Whimsy and Stars Studio Mojo!

Good morning all! Today I am sharing with you a card I made using one of the newly release Whimsy and Stars Studio spring images! This cutie is called Little Girl Garland! It's just such a sweet image that it just makes me smile, oh heck they all make me smile!I have a blast each time I sit down and color in one of Mabelle's images, each image is so detailed and fun to work with. For this image I wanted to play along with a few challenges that are going on right now. First I decided to play along with the current Mojo Monday challenge, it has been a while since I did one of those and they are always a lot of fun. Plus, I also decided to play along with a brand new challenge from a new company, Ribbon Carousel at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog!
I love playing along with challenges whenever I can, and I had a lot of fun playing with both of these challenges with this one card! The inspirational photo was so sweet and fun but I was really drawn to the bundles of ric rac in the image, there is a light pinkish one and a darker shade, so I went with this designer paper since it had the same effect as the ric rac and I went with two shades of paper as well to mimic it as well.

Have you checked out the Whimsy and Stars Studio Store yet? Well if you haven't, what are you waiting for! You are going to love these fun images, they all make me smile, I know they will do the same for you! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Birthday Sweetness

Good morning all! Today I am sharing with you a card I made using one of the newly release Whimsy and Stars Studio spring images! This cutie is called Birthday Chickie, this image clearly perfect for any birthday card and I thought for today that was what I would create! It's just a sweet image, it just makes me smile, oh heck they all make me smile!

I have a blast each time I sit down and color in one of Mabelle's images, each image is so detailed and fun to work with. For this image I wanted to use bright colors and something that would match the birthday feel to this image, so I pulled out my American Crafts Confetti decorative paper and started pulling colors from it. I decided to use yellow and a shade of orange to match the balloons as the layering colors and aqua mist cs as my base. Plus, I also decided to play along with a brand new challenge from a new company, Ribbon Carousel at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog!
I love playing along with challenges whenever I can, and when I heard that Ribbon Carousel was starting a challenge I just had to check it out! I don't know about you, but I am SO getting one of these babies, I have so many ribbon spools that are such a hassle to organize but the carousel seems like a fabulous way to solve that problem. Well, anyway...this week we are supposed to use the Ribbon Carousel as inspiration and for mine I went with the joy of getting one....or what I thought would be the joy of course! The one requirement is that you use ribbon, lace, ect just something that comes on a spool so I used this fabulous satin ribbon that I got from Michele!

Have you checked out the Whimsy and Stars Studio Store yet? Well if you haven't, what are you waiting for! You are going to love these fun images, they all make me smile, I know they will do the same for you! I hope you have a wonderful day!

That's right, a great group of friends of mine, the 'Ho's', created a challenge blog called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration! This week our challenge is to use both Digi and Regular stamps on your creation and/or follow the attached sketch! For my card today I used this super fun and sweet Whimsy and Stars Studio image called Sunflower Teddy, which would be my Digi Stamp. For my 'rubber' stamp I used a sentiment from a PTI set I have. I think putting this image and sentiment together works really well, plus I followed this weeks sketch, I really do love the layout that Scrappy created for us to follow this week! I used the colors of the sunflower for the color scheme for the entire creation!

Spring Chickie!

I wanted to play along with another fabulous Whimsy and Stars Studio image for my post today and I decided that the image Spring Chickie would be perfect! It's just a sweet image, it just makes me smile, oh heck they all make me smile!

I have a blast each time I sit down and color in one of Mabelle's images, each image is so detailed and fun to work with. For this image I wanted to use lots of bright spring colors so I went with Ice Mint Copic Marker for most of her outfit with touches of Begonia on the flowers and some bright yellows to compliment the other shades. I used my Nestabilities Labels 14 to cut out the image and used some pop dots to make the image pop more, and if that wasn't enough I also got out a sponge and shaded the space around this cute Chickie!

Have you checked out the Whimsy and Stars Studio Store yet? Well if you haven't, what are you waiting for! You are going to love these fun images, they all make me smile, I know they will do the same for you!
