Scoops!

Good afternoon! Today I have a card to share with you that I made for two challenges going on right now. The first challenge is the current MFT Sketch, I am loving these sketches. This one took me a bit of time to get into, but once I got an idea it all seemed to come together. Here is what I was to be working off of.
I wanted to use this adorable PI image and when I realized that I didn't have the little alphabet or the other banner dies that MFT has I decided to improvise and use the banner dies I did have. I also pulled out my Here's the Scoop stamp set and used the ice cream scoop image to create a banner of ice cream! I mean what could be better then lots and lots of ice cream?!
I do hope you enjoy what I created, I had a lot of fun with a challenging sketch, but I think it worked out in the end.I also wanted to play along with the current Ribbon Carousel Challenge, which is to create a card that is clean and simple, and I certainly think that this card would count for that. Not too many layer or embellishments, just the bare necessities and lots of cuteness!

I had so much fun with this card, it reminds me of all the warm weather and hot days. Have a great day, and thank you for stopping by!
Stamps: Make Mine a Double and Here's the Scoop form My Favorite Things; Paper: Whisper White, Lemon, Rose Red, SU! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration! This week our challenge is to use the color combination of black, pink and just a touch of green! For my card today I used this darling image from My Favorite Things called Flower Girl, I thought that she would be perfect for a Mother's Day card for my mom. I decided to use this current MFT Sketch for my card, I am trying to keep up with the sketches each week but it always seems that I save the sketch and by the time I start playing time is up. This week I am finally ahead of myself and got the chance to play along and I had a lot of fun with this layout, plus I got this fun gingham paper at my LSS on Saturday, they had a sale for National Scrapbooking Day!

A MFT Sketch and Color Throwndown Creation!

There are so many challenges out there that I really wish I had more time to play along with, but this weekend I was able to sit down and create one card that qualifies for two super fun challenges! Each week My Favorite Things hosts a fabulous sketch challenge on their Blog and the MFT Member Company Forum on SCS. It seems that each week I copy the sketch and book mark the entry thread but time runs away from me before I get the sketch completed leaving my desk in pieces of a to be competed MFT card! Here is this weeks sketch that I got the chance to finally play along with! Each week I also write down and save the newest Color Throwdown Challenge, these ladies make the nicest color combinations and they always seem to make me pull out colors I never seem to touch. This weeks colors included More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant/Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, and Early Espresso. I don't actually think I own most of these colors, but what I did was pull colors that I thought were very close to the shade and work with them, I think this combo was a bit of a stretch for me, but I really did enjoy challenging myself on this one.

I inked up this adorable little girl image from My Favorite Things called Being Cute is What I do, this little girl just makes me smile! I love her little pig tails and I thought that she would look great in a paper pieced top so I used some of the paper from the Echo Park Springtime DP I also used the same paper for the background of this card. I pulled out some fun Mat Arts linen ribbon and created a big bow and of course since I got the mini rolled rose die, so it HAD to be used!

I had a lot of fun getting the chance to play along with some super fun challenges this weekend, I am hoping that this chance will occur more often. I hope you like today's card and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I used the brand new Die-namics Flower Border Die (just too sweet) and the Die-namics Decorative Doily Die (I can't get enough of this die!).For my layers of paper I used three different sheets of paper from the Olivia pad and I think the shades really work with time image, in fact it seems to match these fun glitter brads that I picked up from My Favorite Things. For today I decided to ink up A Box of Love, one of four new Pure Innocence images to be released this month. I don't know about you, but the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things has grabbed my attention since I first saw one image posted with these cuties! It was so hard to decide where to start with these images for me this month since they were all so darn cute, I finally went with this image for today's card and I love how it turned out! I also got the chance to use one of this month's new Die-namics, are you ready for this one? It's called the Flower Border Die and it is just precious, simply perfect for any Pure Innocence creation, especially the adorable love-y ones that are being released this month!
Isn't this Die-namic just too cute! I used it as part of my ribbon embellishment, I thought it would be a different way to show off the die. I also layered the darling candy box so that it popped up at you, they are screaming my name they look so yummy! Then to finish off the entire card I added a few Baby Bradies from the Adornments section of My Favorite Things, I have these in so many colors that these cute little pink ones are just perfect for and some straight pins I found too!

Now onto my creations! I couldn't decide which of these two sets to play along with, so I inked them both up! First up today is the soon to be released Flopsey, Ice Skating Flopsey! I used this fun and wintery blue paper and a few different shades of blue. I also used the Die-namic Let It Snowflake dies to create this layered snowflake and finished off the embellishment by adding a white button with a bit of bakers twine tied in a bow. He is always such a cuddle and cuddly bunny!I also got a chance to play along with the new Flapper Doodles stamp set Cheers to a New Year! I pulled out this fun and bright dp that I found in my stash and paper pieced the Flapper Doodles Dresses. These girls know how to party and no party is complete without some shine, ribbon and bling. I also pulled out my Die-namics Decorative Doily Die, this die might be my current favorite, I love the elegant detail it adds to any card. I also used some of this fabulous May Arts Chevron Ribbon, it matches the party mood of the card.

MFT Teaser Time!

Today is the first Teaser Time at My Favorite Things! That's right, I was invited to be part of the December Temp Team at My Favorite Things! Today we are sharing with you creations using three fabulous stamp sets! I decided to play along with the soon to be released stamp set Tweeny Teen: You Give Me Wings!

Teaser prizes begin today, so be sure to leave comments at each stop! Just by commenting, you could win one of two $10 gift vouchers! (Two prizes will be awarded every day of previews.) You can check back with Kim each day for winners.

This stamp set is from the Tweeny Teen Line at My Favorite Things and she is simply fabulous! Not only do you get this adorable main image, but this set comes with four different sentiments. I picked out the sentiment 'Spread Your Wings and Fly' for my card and layered it on some oval punches and then popped it up on pop dots!

For the focus of my card I cut out this adorable fairy image and popped her up on a nestabilities large oval and sponged in a field of color. I also went through my Die-namic stash (yes, I have lots) and used my Scalloped Scallop Die as part of my card. I love this Die-namic, in fact this was the first one I owned and I got it as part of one of the VIP kits before Die-namics were released. Then of course, no card is complete without some ribbon and a giant bow for good measure.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today, be sure to head on over to Kim's Blog after 11 am EST to see who else is sharing a teaser with you today! Be sure to come back here tomorrow for more teasers! Have a fabulous day all!

I pulled out my Catch Some Rays stamp set from My Favorite Things and got to work! I got this text dp from a local store, I just thought it was a lot of fun! For some shine I added some stickles in turquoise and a few dew drops along the edge.

MFT Guest Designer Contest!

This month for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer contest is to create a card using fabric or felt! I had chatted with my friend Michele about this great sticky felt she had found at her local Michale's, so last night on the way home I stopped and picked up some, I found it right in the kids craft section and there were all sorts of colors to pick from! I decided on a few, I picked up a red, pink, black, white, and this soft sky blue. When I got home and looked at all my stamps I just wanted to ink up one of my Joleen stamps from My Favorite Things, this cutie was part of her debut and she badly needed some inky love.

I pulled out my cuttlebug and got to work trying out these new fabulous DIE-nymaics! I received this one in my VIP kit about 2 weeks ago now and I am so thrilled with it! I wasn't too sure about what sort of 'sandwich' to use for this, but my typical die layering worked perfectly! The cut was so clean and crisp on my sticky felt, made my day! I also wanted to use this new punch I picked up at the store, a Martha Stewart corner 'around the page' punch, it really looks cute in the corners! In fact I thought it needed a bit more so I added some bling to the center of the flowers, and I love how it turned out.

I do hope you like what I am sharing with you today, I had a lot of fun with this card. I am hoping that I get more chances to ink up my unloved stamps, so many stamps and not enough time! Have a great day all!

Paper Pieced Dance!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, I know I did! I got the chance to work on a bunch of cards and today I thought I would share with you the card I created for one of the ladies I work with. One of the secretaries in the office celebrates their birthday this week, and I have two different people I work with asking for some fun birthday cards. For this one she wanted something classy, sort of party girl, and fun so I pulled out my Dance the Night Away set from My Favorite Things!

I also wanted to use purple as my main color since I know that she really likes purple, so I used this lavender lace cardstock and this fabulous DP from Wisteria Paper Pad from Basic Grey. Since I was taking the time to create another card I decided that I would use the chance to play along with a challenge that I saw Joanne post earlier this week in celebration of her Blogaversary! The challenged she issued to use paper piecing, which I thought would be perfect for this birthday card anyway, so why not give it a shot and play along! I hope you like this one, it has a lot of layers to the base, not as many as I usually use in one card but I thought it seemed fitting some how. Enjoy your week!
Stamps: Dance the Night Away from My Favorite Things; Paper: Rustic Cream, Lavender Lace, Basic Grey Wisteria DP, Basic Black; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, C1 Cool Grey No. 1, E42 Sand White, E43 Dull Ivory, V06 Lavender; Accessories: Pop Dots, Kaiser Self Adhesive Rhinestones, Satin Ribbon

Some MFT Umbrella Fun!

Good morning all! For today I thought I would share with you a super cute card I made using one of my new favorite stamp lines from My Favorite Things called Pure Innocence. This stamp line has so many precious images and for my card today I used this cute little My Umbrella! I picked up this super yummy paper at the Pine Cone Press booth at CHA and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had to use this paper with this adorable little girl! I created this card not only to ink up this cute little stamp, which needed some inky love, and use my new paper but also for a kit swap I joined that Joy is hosting on SCS. Each month by the 5th of the month the 'hostess' for the month sends a package to each of the group members with the same images and background paper plus embellishments. When everyone in the group recevies their kit they have to create something based on the contents of the kit adding their own adhesives, coloring, and of course cardstock. So far this swap has been a lot of fun and I hope the ladies like my kit for this month, I know I had way too much fun making this one! Have a great day all and thanks for stopping by once again!

Some Simple Innocence

I was sorting through my photos and I realized that I never posted my My Favorite Things card from a few weeks ago and I just had to share! I don't know if you follow MFT but each week Kim and her fabulous Design Team members are hosting a Wednesday Stamp Club! How fun is that?! The last one I participated in was all about using line images, but the catch was we were not allowed to color in the images, talk about oh no moment. I was so intimidated by this challenge, but at the same time I really wanted to try something new, so I created a set of four cards all four using the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things and not picking up a single coloring tool. I pulled out my Kraft paper, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, and some fun elements from around my work area and got to work. I used this wonderful Sugar Rush DP for my color palette and used it as a stepping off point in all four of my cards, and if you can't see it, I used just a bit of Taffy Smooch on each of the little hearts on the images.I really like the third card I made, the one above, not sure why, but the paper piecing is just so much fun! I think this may be one of my favorite images from the PI line, she is just so cute! Well, I take that back, My Umbrella is my favorite, but I haven't finished that card yet to share with you! So stay tuned, eventually that card will be done for you to see, in the mean time enjoy these creations!Even without the coloring, which is honestly what takes me so darn long to create a card, I really like how these cards came out, they all turned out simple and sweet, something I wasn't expecting to say the least. Hope you enjoy seeing some of my cards from a few weeks ago, have a great day!

That Krafty Santa!

I still can’t believe it is already December, I know I have said this before but my goodness, where has this year gone?! With the mark of a new month comes another My Favorite Things Guest Designer Challenge! This month the challenge was to create a card using Kraft as the focus, I love my Kraft paper but I just don’t use it often enough, in fact for the longest time I had no Kraft paper in my room, I know that I reached for it a few times and I was all out! I finally reordered some from PTI last month when I got some other goodies, so I was able to participate in the challenge! I decided to ink up my new Santa Baby stamp sets, this poor set has been sitting there wanting to see some some ink! As soon as I saw this set I knew I would love it, and I simply do! I love the playful feel of this image and all the matching sentiments and images that compliment it! I thought a holiday card would be totally awesome to make, since I haven’t really made many yet this year…but you will be seeing more of them, I have several people who have ordered Christmas and Holiday cards from me this year, so I need to kick it into high and get creating! Hope you enjoy my card for today, and be sure to stop by tomorrow too! Not only will I have my weekly Artful INKables creation, but the Stamping Bella Blog Hop will be coming through too! Have a wonderful day!

Stamps: Santa Baby from My Favorite Things; Paper: Whisper White, Kraft, Pure Poppy, DCWV Christmas Stack DP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, C1 Cool Grey No. 1, E00 Skin White, E31 Brick Beige, R29 Lipstick Red, R39 Garnet, W7 Warm Grey No. 7; Accessories: Kaiser Self Adhesive Rhinestones Wine, Pop Dots, May Arts Ribbon

Bunny Snuggles!

Well, this week is the start of the new My Favorite Things new contest, 'So You Think You Can Stamp'. Each week there will be a challenge that we will need to base a card on, talk about ekk! This weeks challenge was to create something based on the West Coast Swing, so after thinking about it for a long, long time, I created this card. This stamp set is one of my favorites, these bunnies are just too cute to pass up!It is a spinner/suspension card that also rocks. Its sort of hard to photo, but the main image on both sides rock left and right, plus the central piece spins too! I hope you enjoy it, and I went with pink, lots of pink! Plus no card is complete without some bling and ribbon! This is the front when it 'swings' or 'rocks' to the left. I really love how sweet the card turned out, I ahve never made a rocking card so that was a new things for me, and its been a while since I have create a spinner card. Hope you enjoy my entry, I really did enjoy myself with this one!

Some Sketching!

If you read my posts then you know that I love a good sketch challenge so for today I thought I would share with you two sketches I created cards for recently, both of which happen to be from My Favorite Things! For my first card I wanted to share with you this fun Tea Time creation I made for the My Favorite Things MFTSC99 last week, I liked how the main image was supposed to pop over the rest of the card, it gives the card a different look.I was thrilled when I got the chance to create a fun card for this one! I decided that Tea was the way to go, and when I think tea I think of a simple and distressed look. I set about adding some paper piecing and some rough edges plus lots of layers! I then added two different ribbons, one yellow twill and one scalloped trim to create a different kind of look. Lastly, I added some bling in the right corner, I know its a bit hard to see in this picture, but the color matches the darker color in the background paper and paper pieced area. I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch! The above sketch I really, really liked, not only was it another wonderful My Favorite Things Sketch, but it was also their 100th sketch so I just had to play along! I love the layout on this one, it looked like it was going to be a lot of fun to try and of course I wanted to use one of the stamp sets I had yet to ink up so for this sketch I selected I {heart} Books! To be honest, I truly do {heart} books, I am constantly reading something, and right now I finished all the books I have, eek! So trust me a visit to the library will be happening shortly. I decided that this sketch would look nice in shades of blue which would make it perfect for a guy card, hope you enjoy this one, I like the final look. Hope you enjoyed my sketch inspired cards for today! Have a wonderful Monday all!

Hot Pink Party!

I finally got the chance to play along with this weeks My Favorite Things My Favorite Challenge! A very close friend of mine wanted me to make a hot pink and black guys card, and I instantly thought of this stamp set recently released from My Favorite Things, Party Girl! I knew it would be perfect, so when I heard that this weeks challenge was to use metal in some way, I had to play along and add them both together! I added some fun dotted paper from PTI and the whole lot of layers! I really wanted to layer this card up, hot pink and black, followed by more hot pink and black! I really like how this turned out, I hope you enjoy it too! He likes it...by the way. Hope you have a wonderful day!
