Oldie But Goodie at Bugaboo!

Today is Thursday, which means that today is Oldie But Goodie day at Bugaboo Stamps! Now Oldie But Goodie Day means that team members are sharing creations they made using stamps that are not new, but those good ol' stamps that are a part of the Bugaboo collection!

For my card today I decided to use this cutie Pumpkin Boy! I made this card using one of the images from the September Digi Stamp Club! If you haven't check out this offer, I suggest you do so, you get 20 images for $20...wow what a bargain! But it's only being offered for a limited time only, so get it while you still can! These images will all eventually be available, but why not get a sampling of sets to come now, before you have to pay full price for them later!

I also entered this card into the current Cooking It Up With Katie Challenge, which consisted of using a digital image, using some yellow, and having a bit of sparkle!

I had so much fun with this, I hope you enjoy my card and be sure to hop on over to the Bugaboo Blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams creations! I do hope you like my Oldie But Goodies today, I am still having so much fun with these images! Have a great day all!

An Inspiration Challenge!

So today is Sunday which means that it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, the 'Ho's', created a challenge blog called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration! So for our challenge this week we challenge you to create a card based on the above picture, a bit of fun inspiration! I love the darker colors in this image with the purple tones, so I pulled out my Artful INKables stamp set Plant Prints! I stamped my image in Rich Razzleberry and then added some Memento Tuxedo Black to the edges to darken the outer part of the image. I also wanted to keep the card the same tones so I used only black and rich razzleberry, I think the whole card ended up just as I intended, I love when that happens!

Be sure to check out the rest of our great group of Hos, I know their creations will be fabulous!

You are going to love these ladies and all of their creations and I can't wait to see what you create along with us! Hope to see you back here next Sunday for our next challenge! Have a wonderful day all!

Operation Write Home Birthday Bash with Bugaboo Stamps!

Guess what?! Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring a challenge for Operation Write Home's Birthday Bash! I think this is such a great cause and as soon as I heard about it I wanted to help as well, so I started making cards to donate. Here is one of the cards I made, it's simple but I think a lot of fun! In fact we are hosting a challenge, and our challenge is to create a card for holidays in general so it does not have to be a Christmas card it could be a Kwanzaa or Hanukkah card as well so I hope you will join us!Here is all sorts of information about this fabulous organization, Operation Write Home:

Operation Write Home is an organization that sends blank handmade greeting cards for all occasions to deployed service members to write home on. They’ve mailed approximately 500,000 cards so far—and are still going strong! Our challenge to you is to make cards to send to them for our nation’s heroes.

Please read the basic guidelines here; it’s important to; it’s important especially to remember that glitter is NOT allowed (it’s a safety hazard to our heroes), handmade cards only, and OWH needs A2 sized cards. “Operation Write Home” needs to be on the backs of your cards—it can be stamped, handwritten, or printed on labels. Please include a packing slip inside your box or envelope, and mail them to any of their shippers listed on the Mailroom page. In your package, you can also include notes written to a deployed service member.

Please consider entering a card for Operation Write Home into Jo-Ann’s Craft for a Cause Contest. You can win $1500, and OWH could win $50,000! How many boxes would that ship! Please see their site for detailed rules and regulations.

If you get the chance please join us and help donate and participate in our challenge! The troops need our support, and if we can make at least one person smile with our cards, it really is what our cards are all about. I hope you consider this, at least read the information about Operation Write Home! I had a lot of fun with this card, I used this adorable JJ image from Bugaboo Stamps from the JJ Hobbies line. I love the attitude this image has, the way she's standing and holding herself, she always makes me smile. I pulled out my Spellbinders Labels 13 because I wanted to add a bit of drama to the image, and I think it works well. Staying with the fall colors theme I used orange shades and some yellows to color in the image and then used those papers as well as some of the green to really make it all come together to be fall. I decided to finish off the card with some fun felt flowers that I cut out and used matching buttons to create the flower centers. I did have a lot of fun with this, getting into using colors that I haven't used in a while was nice.

I do hope you like my creation, enjoy the rest of the Design Teams work and be sure to play along! Be sure to go and check out all the fun at the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog! Have a fabulous weekend too!

Inky Fun Easel!

In my blog browsing I came to find that Inky Impressions Challenges have been reinstated! I was so excited, all summer Inky Impressions has been on break, but back to school has now also become 'back to Inky'! The first challenge back from their break was to create an easel card, but not only is the card for the challenge, it's also for a spot to be a Guest Designer for a month. I had a blast on the Design Team earlier this year and just had to try my hand at this challenge too!

So after pulling out my Inky Impressions stamps and picking an image, I got to work. I decided to ink up Flower Lili, she always makes me smile and I also decided to play along with two challenges that were on my 'to do list' this week.
While I go through my blogs I save sketches, color combinations, and challenges that catch my eye and this post also serves as a creation for the current Mojo Monday Challenge and the current Color Throwdown Challenge! This weeks Mojo Monday Challenge uses a tag element and lots of different areas for color or pattern paper, perfect for all the colors that are part of the current Color Throwdown Challenge! I really love how this all turned out, the colors really seemed to work well with this image, or maybe it was my mood, either way I am very pleased with what I came up with, I hope you enjoy it too!

Oldie But Goodie at Bugaboo Stamps!

Today is Thursday, which means that today is Oldie But Goodie day at Bugaboo Stamps! Now Oldie But Goodie Day means that team members are sharing creations they made using stamps that are not new, but those good ol' stamps that are a part of the Bugaboo collection!

For my card today I decided to use this cutie Skelekinz Balloon! I made this card not only for today's Oldie But Goodie but also for Joy's card swap! I love these Skelekinz images and I decided to make an easel card, which I haven't done in a few weeks, in fact I am going to make another one to post today as well I think! I love these images in red, white and black, I guess because the contrast really makes the image pop off the card more then other colors.

I had so much fun with this, I hope you enjoy my card and be sure to hop on over to the Bugaboo Blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams creations! I do hope you like my Oldie But Goodies today, I am still having so much fun with these images! Have a great day all!

Prettie Brads or Eyelets!

Today is Wednesday, so you know what that means, it's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge! So this week our challenge is to create a card and use brads or eyelets! I decided to ink up one of my new stamp sets from Paper Pretties, Give a Hoot!

Not only did I use this weeks Paper Pretties Challenge, but I also wanted to use this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge! I love using sketches and this one was so much fun and perfect to use with this fun stamp set! I have this paper pad from Basic Grey called Marrakech that I have never used and for some reason this patterned paper grabbed my eye when it was time to make my card, which I guess explains the color combination, because this is not my typical color palette.

Just a few reminders about Paper Pretties! We are now State side, which means faster shipping times, lower shipping costs, and fabulous customer service! Now head on over to the Paper Pretties Blog to see all of the creations for today's challenge!

We'd love for you to play along, in fact one random challenge participant this week will win a stamp! You do not need to use Paper Pretties stamps in order to play along, but if you do, you will get a bonus entry into the drawing! Please be sure to mention our challenge and link back to the Paper Pretties Blog in your project posting. When uploading to SCS or PCP please use keyword PWC118. I can't wait to see what you create! Have a wonderful day!

Crafty Ho's - Day of Peace

So today is Sunday which means that it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, the 'Ho's', created a challenge blog called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog! Each week on Sunday we share with everyone more creations using the same challenge as inspiration!

So for our challenge this week we challenged everyone to create a card based on the fact that September 21st will be the Day of Peace! I took that to mean a relaxing day, a day of being peaceful, so I decided to use this fun Fancy Sunbonnet Flowers image from Bugaboo Stamps. I don't know about you but when I am in my garden I am so relaxed and peaceful. Everything just seems quiet and lovely, so I thought that this image would be perfect for today's challenge!

Be sure to check out the rest of our great group of Hos, I know their creations will be fabulous!

You are going to love these ladies and all of their creations and I can't wait to see what you create along with us! Hope to see you back here next Sunday for our next challenge! Have a wonderful day all!

For some more fun I also entered this card to this weeks My Time to Craft Challenge which is 'In the Garden'!

Happy Birthday Pam!

Today is a Paper Pretties Birthday Hop, that's right our fabulous Pam is celebrating her birthday today and in true Pretties spirit we are hopping along to party! We are kicking things off at Frances' blog, so if you haven't started there head on over, but if you are joining me from Cindy's blog then you found the right place!

For my birthday creation today I decided to ink up Bubble Time Sophia! I love how sweet Sophia always looks in these stamps, and this one looks so darn relaxed, prefect for a birthday card! I also used the sentiment that comes with this stamp that reads 'It's your day-spoil yourself silly!', even more perfect for a birthday card!
I also decided to use this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for this card and I pulled out my DCWV Garden Party DP Stack and got to work. I thought that the pink and green look would go nicely with this sketch, and make this image pop! I didn't use the scallops in the sketch, but otherwise I followed along...don't you just love a good sketch!

Thank you for taking the time to celebrate Pam's birthday! I hope you enjoy the rest of the Hop, you know I am loving getting the chance to celebrate another wonderful Pretties Birthday! Now hop on over to Jana's blog, she has more great celebration goodies! Also, be sure to hop all the way through and wish Pam a fabulous birthday! Have a great day all!

Treat Goodie Bag Tutorial with Bugaboo!

Today it's my turn to share a tutorial with you for Bugaboo Stamps, you can see my final product on the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog! So are we ready to see what we are learning to make today? Okay, here it is, we are making what I call a 'Treat Goodie Bag'!

Materials:
1 - 12" x 12" sheet of DP
Bone Folder
Cutter or Scor-Pal
Double Sided Tape
Scissors
Ribbon
hole punch or crop-a-dile
First decide what paper to use, I pulled out some great Halloween paper to go with this super cute Hoppy Halloween image!
Scor along the top of the paper at 1", 5", 7", 11", then turn the paper to the right and scor along the 1", 4", 5", 6", 9", 10" and 11". At the 5" mark cut over 2" and down 2" and remove that square. Then cut over to the 8" mark and then at the 7" mark and cut down 2" from there and again across along the same line to the 12" mark. I did this on 12" x 12" paper so that we could create two Treat Goodie Bags out of one paper, more bang for the buck! Fold and score over those lines so that the lines are more defined and easy to create with. Now use the top piece to make one, cut the first 1" x 1" square, leave the 3" piece where it is and cut away another 2"s, leave the 3"s following that cut and continue to the rest of the 12" x 12" paper. Also make tabs along the bottom two flaps so that you can attach the entire paper together for the goodie bag! Place stips on the tabs on the bottom and along the 1" side to the left.Begin attaching the sides with sticky strip so that the edges can attach into a bag. Once your goodie bag is attached you have to decorate! I decided to add some ribbon to mine, it's also a great way to hold the whole thing together. I used my crop-a-dile to thread the ribbon along the top and tie a bow. I love this ribbon by the way, it's prefect for this patterned paper too! I then added some pop dots to my main image so that it would pop off the goodie bag, just a little added dimension. That's the last step, attaching the image! Of course you should fill it with candy before you tie the bow, but those are little details and I have no candy on hand...that's right all, I am on a diet for the time being. Here is my final product!Hope you enjoyed my tutorial, these things are a lot of fun to make. Not only did I create this fun Goodie Bag as part of my tutorial, but I also played along with the current Christmas Stampin' All Year Round Challenge, which was to create a card that is a non-Christmas card, Halloween totally counts! My creation today also follows the JUGS Challenge, or Just Us Girls, the challenge was to create something with a template, so I made my own! or Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
