My first card today uses one of our new Sassy Gals Sassy Beach, I mean look at her, if you went to the beach and this is what you saw I am sure heads would turn. I think this image really is a lot of fun, when I saw her I knew that I had to ink this one up for our challenge today!

I do hope you check out what the rest of the Design Team created, you can see all the cards at the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, but for some more information on the all cards be sure to stop by all our great blogs and check them out. She screamed bright colors, so I pulled out my summer fun DP and a few brightly colored cardstock and got to work. I also pulled out some of my Prima flowers, I have a container with an assortment of all sorts of patterns, colors, sizes, and designs. I also have been organizing my room and found these great swarski crystals I got months ago while in NYC in the Fashion District, they have been missing since I got them and when I found them I just had to use them as the center of my flowers on this card, I think they finish the whole creation off nicely.
I also made a card using one of the images from the Character Cafe! This super cute couple walking the beach is perfect for the summer challenge! I pulled out my Koh0I-Noor Woodless Pencils and started coloring in this fun image, in fact I almost used Gemasol on this one and decided that I really liked the rough look of the colored pencils as they are. I pulled out circle nestabilities and lots of ribbon and got to work finishing this card off, I are pretty happy with the final result.

Last but certainly not least, we are having a SALE at Bugaboo Stamps! That's right ALL STAMPS are now on SALE for 50%, all you have to do is enter in the following code at checkout: 967B4689

Sewing Paper!

It's Saturday so you know what that means, it's time for another Artful INKables post! For my creation today I am sharing with you my card for the current Think INK Challenge! Our current Think INK Challenge is being issued by Marti Wills and the challenge is to make your own background paper or use a special background technique! I LOVE to make my own background paper so this challenge was right up my alley, in fact it has been a while since I made my own DP so I took a while trying to decide which stamps to use for the style I had in mind.

I love this cute little spool of thread and needle image from our new Sew You stamp set! I was in a teals mood when I decided to create this card so I picked up my Baja Breeze and Bermuda Bay inks to create my background paper for this card. I used the sewing machine image as my focal point and added in this fun sentiment, 'Sew, What's New?'. Got to love the play on words there!

There is still plenty of time to join in on the Think INK Challenge, so be sure to hop on over to the Artful INKables Blog and join in on all the background fun! Well I do hope you enjoyed my card for today, I had a lot of fun with this one! Have a fabulous day all!

Boxed Envelope Tutorial with Bugaboo Stamps!

Today it's my turn to share a tutorial with you for Bugaboo Stamps, you can see my final product on the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog! So are we ready to see what we are learning to make today? Okay, here it is, we are making a boxed envelope! Now you might be thinking what the heck is that?! Well, its a deep envelope so that you can mail those great layered cards without messing up the card!

Materials:
1 - 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" sheet of DP or Colored Paper
Bone Folder
Cutter or Scor-Pal
Double Sided Tape
Scissors

Start by holding the 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" paper on an angle and measure 2 5/8" and make a scored line with your Bone Folder and Cutter or Scor-Pal. Measure over 1/4" of an inch from your first score line and create another score line. You will then want to rotate the paper 90 degrees and measure in to the 3 5/8" mark and create a scored line, then measure over 1/4" and create another score line. Rotate the paper another 90 degrees and measure 2 5/8" and make a scored line, again measure over 1/4" of an inch from your first score line and create another score line. Once more rotate the paper to the last triangle, another 90 degrees and measure in to the 3 5/8" mark and create a scored line, then measure over 1/4" to 3 7/8" and create another score line. You should now have something to look like this, I marked the difference and the places that were scored for you to see. The next step is to take your scissors and cut away where the scores overlap. Now fold on all the scored lines at once, so that the tabs are all folding up. Next step adhere double sided tape to the inside edges of the shorter sides as shown. Then folding up the bottom attach the bottom to the double sided tape. Now, you will end up with this small triangle shape extending pasty the side, you can certainly leave it, but I decided to use my scissors to cut it down, it looks a bit better in my opinion, more finished. My box envelope is now created, so I decided to make this envelope so it matched my multi layered card by using the same image on my envelope that is on my card, I placed it in the bottom left corner so that the box envelope can still be mailed! Just to show you what sort of card I use for this envelope box, here is a few shots of the card I made to match this creation. Not only is the main image base pop up on another layer, but I also made three layers for the image itself. Just to show you how well these box envelopes work, here is the finished card inside! I do hope that you enjoyed today's tutorial, I had a great time with this card and with sharing with you this easy way to mail your thicker cards. Have a great day!
Stamps: Poppi Intertube from Bugaboo Stamps; Paper: Whisper White, Lemon Tart, We Are Memory Keepers White Out DP, Only Orange, Pacific Point; Ink: N1 Neutral Grey No 1, N3 Neutral Grey No. 3, B05 Process Blue, Y08 Acid Yellow, YR04 Chrome Orange; Accessories: Pop Dots, Scissors, Double Sided Tape, Bone Folder

My card today uses two great Christmas Kid images, specifically Christmas Boy 2 and Christmas Girl 3. Now, these images are sold seperatly, but in order to get them standing next to each other like they are I used my free photo editing software, gimp, and worked with the png files. That's right I moved the images together in the same file so that they could be standing next to each other then printed the entire image out and started creating my card. I will admit that these Christmas cards have been a bit hard to create, but I do like how this one ended up looking. I used two different sheets of Christmas DP and cute a few squares of them to make the background on this cute image. I did use traditional colors on this one too and I think it works! I do hope you check out what the rest of the Design Team created, you can see all the cards at the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, but for some more information on the all cards be sure to stop by all our great blogs and check them out.

I do hope you enjoy your weekend, and find a way to get into the Christmas spirit and join us in our challenge! Thanks for stopping by, have a great one!

Bugaboo Stamps Tuesday New Release!

Today is Tuesday, which means that it's time for a brand new release at Bugaboo Stamps! That's right today we are releasing all new images at the Bugaboo Store! For my card today I decided to use one of the new Bobblehead Christmas images, isn't this Santa just perfect for any Christmas card! I colored in this cutie with Copics and then decided that it still needed a bit more, so I added the sponging on the boarder of the Nestability shape I used, I haven't done that in ages, so I think I need a bit more practice, but all the same I like how it came out.

I pulled out my Christmas Stack DP, which has been unloved for a few months now, and got to work. I liked this DP the most, since it looked sort of like a quit, a different take on Christmas, I used this DP as my card inspiration and went with a celery color instead of the typical darker green. I thought that this image needed some liquid applique for that special Santa touch, so with a bit of heat he was ready to go! I hope you enjoyed my card for today, I really had a lot of fun with this one! Be sure to check out the Bugaboo Blog and see the other DTs Members creations with today's new images, you are going to love these images!

Now Oldie But Goodie Day means that team members are sharing creations they made using stamps that are not new, but those good ol' stamps that are a part of the Bugaboo collection! I used this card as my swap card for a swap that fellow Design Team Member, Scrappy, hosted! I thought that pink would be Scarlette's color and I added some bright yellow and orange to finish off her look plus I used one of my mulberry paper flowers. I had so much fun with this, I hope you enjoy my card and be sure to hop on over to the Bugaboo Blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams creations!
