Crafty Ho!

Since today is Sunday it's time for another Crafty Ho's Challenge! That's right, a great group of friends of mine, to who we call the 'Ho's', kicked off a new challenge blog last Sunday, called Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog!

So for our second week our challenge is to create a one layer card and use both ribbon and buttons on it! That's right, only one layer plus some great embellishments! Here are all the rules for our challenge so that you can play along and maybe win some goodies:

1. Please use only original artwork designed for this challenge - not previously made for other challenges, swaps, etc. Feel free to combine your project for this challenge with any other challenges, only required to be something new.

2. You may submit as many entries as you like, just make sure that they are all different.

3. Challenges will be posted every Sunday and will run til 11pm EST the following Saturday. This should give you plenty of time to get them done and entered.

4. Post your link directly to the post for this challenge project - not a general link to your blog - to Mr. Linky.

5. Most importantly: HAVE FUN!! If you have any questions or comments, please let us know, we are here to be as supportive and inspiring as we can:)

So for my card I used this adorable stamp set called Chocolate Bunny form My Favorite Things! I wanted to make a fun and simple card, and since it was supposed to be a one layer card I used my scor-pal to create a little grid in the background then I used a sponge and shaded the areas outside the main image. I also used these cute buttons and added this great twill I got from PTI. Be sure to check out the rest of our great group of Hos!

You are going to love these ladies and all of their creations and I can't wait to see what you create along with us! Hope to see you back here next Sunday for our next challenge! Have a wonderful day all!

Birdie Fun!

Good morning all! It's Saturday which means that it's time for me to share another Artful INKables creation! For today I decided to ink up one of our newest stamp sets, Any Birdie Home. I just love this set, the images included are so pretty, and they look great in a variety of colors! Speaking of colors, since I thought this stamp set really would work with any color combination, I decided to play along with this weeks current Color Throwdown Challenge!
So for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge Kristin issued the challenge to use Brown, Pink/White, and Olive! The pink and brown was simple enough to use, and I got to also finally use this adorable leaf edging on my card as well, but I wasn't too sure about the olive. I decided that the leaves could simply all be done in olive and use the card base in the same color to tie it all in together! I hope you enjoy my creation for today, I had a lot of fun with it!

Just a little reminder today is the LAST day to apply to be an INK Girl for the next term, if you are still wishing to submit make sure you get your submission in by Midnight MST, time is about to run out! All the information can be found on the blog, at Design Team Call! I can't wait to see who the next INK Girls will be, I do know that this team was fabulous and I will miss working with each of you immensely! Have a wonderful weekend all!

We are all sharing with you our cards for this great challenge which is to use embossing, heat or dry on your creation, then you will have until March 2nd to try this one out for yourself! For my project today I decided to ink up Apple of My Eye, and I went with dry embossing on the background as well as some dry embossing the scallops on the main image mount. Since my yesterday card was all red apples I decided to use green apples on this one, you know 'mix it up' a bit! You will notice that we are featuring two great stamp sets this week, and not only are Apple of My Eye and Apple of My Eye Scripture being featured, but if you decide to order either of these featured stamp sets this week they are both on sale for 20% off the regular price! A Pretties Peek!

I love this time of the month, that's right, today marks the first day for Paper Pretties Peeks! I am so excited to start the Peeks for this release, in fact this month we have some big news and a few changes happening at Paper Pretties, you are going to love them too! First off we will be releasing a total of seven sets this month and previewing the next Sophia stamp! You are going to love this release ladies! So on to my creation...for today I am sharing a creation using a new DIGITAL set called Apple Basket! That's right, you read that right, Paper Pretties will still be releasing rubber images, but a select number of sets each release will now be released exclusively as digital images. How neat is that?! This month of our seven releases, three sets will be exclusively digital sets!

For my card I used a few different colors and I like how it all came together, the light green and the light pink I think really works, plus I love how cute the little basket came out. I really wanted it to stand out from the rest of the card, so I kept the base and the acessories to a minimum. Now, I am not the only Prettie sharing with you peeks of our March 1st release today, so be sure to check out the other great creations that I am sure will make you squeal! Here are the other fabulous Pretties' sharing with you there peeks of some of these great sets:

Paper Pieced Dance!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, I know I did! I got the chance to work on a bunch of cards and today I thought I would share with you the card I created for one of the ladies I work with. One of the secretaries in the office celebrates their birthday this week, and I have two different people I work with asking for some fun birthday cards. For this one she wanted something classy, sort of party girl, and fun so I pulled out my Dance the Night Away set from My Favorite Things!

I also wanted to use purple as my main color since I know that she really likes purple, so I used this lavender lace cardstock and this fabulous DP from Wisteria Paper Pad from Basic Grey. Since I was taking the time to create another card I decided that I would use the chance to play along with a challenge that I saw Joanne post earlier this week in celebration of her Blogaversary! The challenged she issued to use paper piecing, which I thought would be perfect for this birthday card anyway, so why not give it a shot and play along! I hope you like this one, it has a lot of layers to the base, not as many as I usually use in one card but I thought it seemed fitting some how. Enjoy your week!
Stamps: Dance the Night Away from My Favorite Things; Paper: Rustic Cream, Lavender Lace, Basic Grey Wisteria DP, Basic Black; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, C1 Cool Grey No. 1, E42 Sand White, E43 Dull Ivory, V06 Lavender; Accessories: Pop Dots, Kaiser Self Adhesive Rhinestones, Satin Ribbon

Miss Anya and My Guy Ian

Good afternoon all! For today I wanted to share with you these two fun cards I created for the wonderful Miss Gabby’s Miss Anya and My Guy Ian’s swap! I have a pretty large collection of stamps from The Greeting Farm, in fact I think I need to order some more after seeing their newest release, but a of now I am being ‘good’ and not ordering anything. When Gabby posted this swap I totally wanted to play along, in fact I had yet to ink up the My Guy Ian set so that had to be remedied! I tried to make his card sort of manly, so I stuck with a grey and maroon color combination plus I pulled out my diamond plate embossing folder to make it even more ‘manly’. I had no idea how to finish this card though, I finally decided that I would create an overlapping of satin ribbon and offset the main image in the upper right corner.

For my second spot I used Rain Miss Anya image from the set Rain Snow Shine. I think this may be one of my favorite Miss Anya’s in fact after I made this card I love this stamp even more. You know I have been on a bit of a ‘where is spring’ kick and this card is just perfect for spring! I used yellows and blues to create this super fun and cute Rainy day card! I also used my Swiss Dots embossing folder for the background on this card to go with the dots in her little umbrella. After I finished all the cards for the swap I realized that I didn’t even use any decorative paper, and that never seems to happen anymore! I do hope you liked both cards for today; I had a lot of fun with them!

My Guy Ian – Stamps: My Guy Ian from The Greeting Farm; Paper: Whisper White, Scarlet Jewel, Shadow Grey; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, B14 Light Blue, E00 Skin White, E55 Light Caramel, E57 Light Walnut, R39 Garnet; Accessories: Satin Ribbon, CB Embossing Folder Diamond Plate, Pop Dots

For my card today I am using the brand new mini stamp set called Fanciful Flowers! This set is just so much fun, not only are there two great flower images, but there is also a pair of matching leaves and a stylish swirl AND a simple sentiment of 'Just Because'. I really love the sweet look to this set and I decided that a fun bright and sunny card would be the way to go for today's hop! I pulled out my June Bug paper from Basic Grey, I am really loving that pad! For my focal point to the card I used the large flower in this set and masked it several times over to create this sort of sprig look, I do really like how this came out, I hope you like it as much as I do. I don't know if you can see it, but I used some of the new Illuminate Smooch on the blossoms, I love how it makes the center of each flower shine. The best part of this set is that the possibilities are almost endless, you have so many options and choices of what to create with these images, you will love this mini set!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning all and a Very Happy Valentine's Day to you all! I wanted to share a v-day card today, but I wasn't sure which one. While I did make one for my guy, he hasn't received it yet, so I won't be posting that here today, but I will be sharing a card today that I made for one of the guys at work. I have a few people I work with who love the cards I make so every now and then one will ask for a card made for a special occasion, which was the case for today. I was asked to make a 'girlie' Valentine's Day card, but no roses. So I decided that Hearts were the way to go for this one! I pulled out my Hearts on Fire stamp set from Verve and some of my Be Loved paper from MME and got to work. I have already made this same guy a Birthday and Christmas card for his wife, so I wanted this card to not compete or compare to those creations. I do hope you enjoy this card, I had a lot of fun with it! Have a wonderful Valentine's Day all, I will see you back here tomorrow bright and early for a wonderful Artful INKables Blog Hop and new release!

Artful INKables Color Throwndown Style!

Good morning all! I hope you had a wonderful week, mine was a bit touch and go, but I survived to say the least. So since today is Saturday it's time for another Artful INKables creation! I decided that since I have been enjoying the Color Throwdown Challenge recently to play along this week with my weekly Artful INKables post for double the fun! How does that sound?! I think its a great idea! This weeks Color Throwdown Challenge is being hosted by Bar who picked the colors Blush Blossom, Sage Shadow, and Riding Hood Red, in fact she said she picked this color combination due to the wonderful decorative paper called Be Loved from MME. After hearing about the inspiration for this color combination I just had to use some of this great paper too! It seemed fitting since I was using this lovely Valentine's Day paper to pull out Creature Comforts, the prefect set for a lovey card! I decided that these cutie bunnies was going to be my focus to this card, this little lady bunny and the strong manly bunny, they look so adorable! I had a lot of fun with this card it uses lots of layers and lots of few fun embellishments, all matching the color scheme of course. I do hope you like today's card at least half as much as I do.

I used to use a lot of 'naked' buttons and now I sometimes 'dress' my buttons and I like how these finished buttons seemed to complete my card for today. I love a good challenge, and this paper makes you want to make something wonderful and using Artful INKables stamps always does that! Have a wonderful weekend all, and be sure to hop on over here on the 15th, you may find some new goodies from Artful INKables...but you won't find out unless you stop by, so see you then!
Stamps: Creature Comforts from Artful INKables; Paper: Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom, Be Loved DP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, E33 Sand, E37 Sepica, RV11 Pink; Accessories: Pop Dots, Red Buttons, Silver Cord, Kaiser Self Adhesive Rhinestones

Some MFT Umbrella Fun!

Good morning all! For today I thought I would share with you a super cute card I made using one of my new favorite stamp lines from My Favorite Things called Pure Innocence. This stamp line has so many precious images and for my card today I used this cute little My Umbrella! I picked up this super yummy paper at the Pine Cone Press booth at CHA and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had to use this paper with this adorable little girl! I created this card not only to ink up this cute little stamp, which needed some inky love, and use my new paper but also for a kit swap I joined that Joy is hosting on SCS. Each month by the 5th of the month the 'hostess' for the month sends a package to each of the group members with the same images and background paper plus embellishments. When everyone in the group recevies their kit they have to create something based on the contents of the kit adding their own adhesives, coloring, and of course cardstock. So far this swap has been a lot of fun and I hope the ladies like my kit for this month, I know I had way too much fun making this one! Have a great day all and thanks for stopping by once again!

This time our fearless leader Kristin is hosting the Think INK Challenge and for this one she has created a fabulous sketch challenge to play along with! I loved the sketch once I saw Kristin upload it, but I wasn't sure which stamp set to use, so after rummaging through my Artful INKables collection for a while I selected License to Chill! I love this set, and with the winter storms that most of the country has been getting I thought it would be fitting to say the least. Some Simple Innocence

I was sorting through my photos and I realized that I never posted my My Favorite Things card from a few weeks ago and I just had to share! I don't know if you follow MFT but each week Kim and her fabulous Design Team members are hosting a Wednesday Stamp Club! How fun is that?! The last one I participated in was all about using line images, but the catch was we were not allowed to color in the images, talk about oh no moment. I was so intimidated by this challenge, but at the same time I really wanted to try something new, so I created a set of four cards all four using the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things and not picking up a single coloring tool. I pulled out my Kraft paper, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, and some fun elements from around my work area and got to work. I used this wonderful Sugar Rush DP for my color palette and used it as a stepping off point in all four of my cards, and if you can't see it, I used just a bit of Taffy Smooch on each of the little hearts on the images.I really like the third card I made, the one above, not sure why, but the paper piecing is just so much fun! I think this may be one of my favorite images from the PI line, she is just so cute! Well, I take that back, My Umbrella is my favorite, but I haven't finished that card yet to share with you! So stay tuned, eventually that card will be done for you to see, in the mean time enjoy these creations!Even without the coloring, which is honestly what takes me so darn long to create a card, I really like how these cards came out, they all turned out simple and sweet, something I wasn't expecting to say the least. Hope you enjoy seeing some of my cards from a few weeks ago, have a great day!
