Altered Pretties Style!

Welcome to Wednesday! It's time for another Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge! For today's post I get to share with you the altered project I made for our next challenge, issued by ME!! Today we are not only sharing all of our creations for this new challenge, but to make the whole day a bit more fun, we are also hopping from blog to blog as well! We are kicking things off at Christie's blog, so if you haven't started there head on over, or if you are joining me from Jana's blog then you found the right place! We are all sharing with you altered items from my challenge, and then you will have until October 6th to try this one out for yourself! For my project today I decided to ink up Danielle's new stamp set that will be released tomorrow, Season Of Joy. I have so many different items that would be perfect for altering but for today I decided that this silver tin would be a wonderful match for the up coming holidays. I can easily use this tin to be part of a gift package, so with that thought in mind I used the main image of Season of Joy as well as the sentiment 'May the Joy of Christmas light up your heart & home'. I used this fun Holiday paper from Chatter Box called Holiday Candy to cover the tin then I pulled out my stamps, nestabilities and ribbon. I can't wait to see what the other ladies decided to create for today's challenge, but I know whatever it was all these creations will be amazing! So, be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations:

In addition to the wonderful snowman, Frosty, that I shared with you on Sunday I also get the chance to share with you the newest Prettie Royalty, Lady Sophia! Isn't she just super cute! I love her whole look, the pretty flowing dress with all the layers, the great princess hat (I always wanted one myself!), plus this adorable little bird signing it's song, I mean what more could you ask for! Here is a little blurb about what is upcoming for Paper Pretties:

For my card today I thought that Lady Sophia would look wonderful in blue, so I picked two shades a light and darker blue to compliment each other. I also decided that use so stunning floral paper that I have had lying around since this paper was released and make it really pop by using white paper behind it. I also used my Deckled Nestabilities dies to create some nice layers to the main image. Of course no proper lady would be complete without some shine, so I pulled out my May Arts Sheer Metallic Blue Ribbon to complete the look. I hope that you are loving what I have been sharing with you! Have a great day, and get ready for a fabulous release!

Some Sketching!

If you read my posts then you know that I love a good sketch challenge so for today I thought I would share with you two sketches I created cards for recently, both of which happen to be from My Favorite Things! For my first card I wanted to share with you this fun Tea Time creation I made for the My Favorite Things MFTSC99 last week, I liked how the main image was supposed to pop over the rest of the card, it gives the card a different look.I was thrilled when I got the chance to create a fun card for this one! I decided that Tea was the way to go, and when I think tea I think of a simple and distressed look. I set about adding some paper piecing and some rough edges plus lots of layers! I then added two different ribbons, one yellow twill and one scalloped trim to create a different kind of look. Lastly, I added some bling in the right corner, I know its a bit hard to see in this picture, but the color matches the darker color in the background paper and paper pieced area. I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch! The above sketch I really, really liked, not only was it another wonderful My Favorite Things Sketch, but it was also their 100th sketch so I just had to play along! I love the layout on this one, it looked like it was going to be a lot of fun to try and of course I wanted to use one of the stamp sets I had yet to ink up so for this sketch I selected I {heart} Books! To be honest, I truly do {heart} books, I am constantly reading something, and right now I finished all the books I have, eek! So trust me a visit to the library will be happening shortly. I decided that this sketch would look nice in shades of blue which would make it perfect for a guy card, hope you enjoy this one, I like the final look. Hope you enjoyed my sketch inspired cards for today! Have a wonderful Monday all!

There will be 9 different stamp sets released this month on October 1st at Paper Pretties!

So for today I am sharing with you one of the wonderful stamp sets to come, Frosty! One of the things I love about winter is the snow and getting the chance to spend times in the wonderful winter wonderland. This adorable little snowman, Frosty, is just perfect for that snowman building time! I just love how cute this little guy is! I also used one of the matching sentiments for this card, the full sentiment reads 'Feeling a little Frosty', but I decided that I wanted to use only part of the sentiment for today, so I punched out 'a little Frosty', hope you like it! Saturday Scales!

Welcome to another Saturday with Arful INKables! I am still loving the two new stamp sets the went on sale on the 14th at Arful INKables. Have you checked out the store yet to order? If you haven't taken the time to visit the store, why not head over while its on your mind, just in case here is the link: Arful INKables! For today I thought I would share with you a card I created using the stamp set South of the Border from last months release! I just had to use this snake image with this cute matching sentiment 'Hey Hot Stuff'! I used the sentiment to create a bit of a background to the card. I then layered the main image of the card on the matching paper in a darker tone of green then the base and the main color of the card. I also added some May Arts Ribbon in both a dark green and a red, both accenting the main image. Hope you like today' card! Have a great weekend, be sure to stop by tomorrow to see a Pretties Peak!

More September Release Verve Challenges!

For the September release, Verve celebrated the release with some great challenges leading up to the party last Friday night! I only got the chance to complete four of the five issued challenges, so I thought that I would share with you the other two I created! I try to play along with as many challenges as I can when it comes to Verve, I love all the various types of challenges they issue within their forum on SCS. This first card I created based on a color combination challenge. This challenge was to create a card using the colors of Orange Yellow, Cream, Deep Brown and Grey Green. I had so much fun with this one, in fact I inked up two of my new stamp sets from last months release, both A Cup of Life and Bountiful Backgrounds and I really like how the distressing turned out on this one!
This challenge was a wonderful sketch that Julee created for us to use! I love sketch challenges, so this was certainly a challenge that I had to complete! I had a lot of fun with these colors, the light blue and light green always looks so nicely together, and I really wanted a bit of pop so I used Enchanted Evening ink from PTI for the blooms and the sentiment. I hope you have a wonderful Friday and you enjoyed the Verve creations for today!
Cup of Tea - Stamps: A Cup of Life, Bountiful Backgrounds from Verve; Paper: Cream, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Summer Sun; Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Ocean Tides; Accessories: May Arts Twill Ribbon, Pop Dots, Glue Dots, Sponge

Farm Fresh Friday

Hello all! I thought for today I would share with you the card I created for this past week's issued Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at The Greeting Farm! I have been adding these challenges to my list to complete every week, but it always seems like the deadline arrives and no card is created! So when I got the chance to play along on Sunday evening I was thrilled! This week's challenge was to create a card using embossing in some way, so I got to work on just that! I used the cutie Wild Sprout Edward to create this grey and red card! I first heat embossed Edward so that he would pop out on the paper, then I ran a sheet of Going Grey cardstock through my Cuttlebug and Embossing folder to create this fun textured background.

Then had to add more, it just needed more, so I used on Candy Lane DP in the background on a smaller piece of paper and layered the dry embossed piece over that. I am loving how all these layers came out, it looks a lot better then I thought it would...lol....Then of course it was time to pull out the embellishments! I decided that Edward needed some matching ribbon so I pulled out my PTI Satin Dotted ribbon and created this cute little bow. This bow in particular is created separately then attached to the strip of ribbon on the paper piece by a glue dot, one way to get the perfect looking bow! I also grabbed my silver nail heads, I love these things, and I think it really pulls the whole card together! Hope you liked today's card! Have a great day!
Stamps: Edward from The Greeting Farm; Paper: Whisper White, Pure Poppy, Going Grey, Candy Lane DP; Ink: Versamark, C5 Cool Grey No. 5, Cool Grey No. 7, E00 Skin White, R29 Lipstick Red, Y13 Lemon Yellow, Y15 Cadmium Yellow; Accessories: Argyle Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Pop Dots, Silver Nail Heads, Pure Poppy Dotted Satin Ribbon, Black Embossing Powder

For my card today I decided to ink up Game On! I thought that this stamp set would be a lot of fun to use with some Fun Foam! Treats and Tails!

Good morning and welcome to another Saturday! I can't believe that the weekend is already here! For today's post I am sharing with you a project I made using the new Holiday Treats & Tails set from Artful INKables. This set is just a lot of fun, I was thrilled to see such a fun set when Kristin shared it with the Design Team, I mean what's not to love! For today's project I wanted to make a Christmas treat, unfortunately the stores are selling Halloween candy now and nothing for the Christmas holiday yet, so I instead decided to use some fun Avery Labels and create some holiday nuggets! I used the little Christmas light stamp for the little nugget wrappers, I am loving this stamp set, there are so many great images included! I used the light bulbs for the nuggets, and this cute little sprig of holly for the nugget cover! I also love the sentiments in this set, I thought this one was perfect for my little gift! I hope you liked what I shared today from Artful INKables, I had to much fun creating with this cute little gift, and I am continuing to enjoy this stamp set. If you are on the fence about this one, I suggest you take the dive and get yourself a super cute Christmas set! Have a great Saturday all!

Enjoying Some Verve!

I can't believe it is that time again! It is time for another great Verve release and I can't wait! As with every Verve release there are some wonderful challenges being posted in the Verve forum to play along with! I got the chance last night to create two cards based on some of the challenges posted, I had so much fun using some of these stamp sets from the last release! The first card I created was for Charmaine's challenge to create a card using a great color combination! She decided that Deep Purple, Olive, Burnt Orange and Teal would be a great combination, I would never have put these together! The second challenge that I got to play along with was issued by Lynda to create a card and make it shine! So I pulled out this great foil paper that I've had for a while now and I thought it would look great with this super stylish heel from the Express Yourself set! I also had to add these great little pieces of bling, and since I haven't used it yet...some smooches! What more could be added to make a card shine! Shine on!

I knew it would be perfect, so when I heard that this weeks challenge was to use metal in some way, I had to play along and add them both together! I added some fun dotted paper from PTI and the whole lot of layers! I really wanted to layer this card up, hot pink and black, followed by more hot pink and black! I really like how this turned out, I hope you enjoy it too! He likes it...by the way. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Welcome to the Artful INKables blog hop! I hope you enjoy the party! We are celebrating the September release at Artful INKables, trust me you are going to love both of the new sets that are coming your way with this release! Today I'm showing you a card made with a new set called Holiday Treats & Tails! I wanted to use red and greens, but with a bit of a twist on the traditional colors. I pulled out one of my Christmas DP Stacks from last year and shifted through the pack until I found papers that I thought would work together. Take me to the Circus!

Good morning! For today I thought I should share with you one of the card I created for the last The Greeting Farm DT call. The assignment was to create a circus themed card, and I wanted to use one of the Miss Anya stamps, since they are some of my favorites, but I didn't know where to start. I finally decided that a clown was not the way to go and a trapeze artist might work. I will say that this card turned out to be pretty elegant, but I don't think it was what my intentions were when I started this one. I did have a lot of fun color this cutie in and I do like the finished product, just not where I thought it was going to end up. Oh well, I hope you liked today's card, have a wonderful Friday! I will see you all tomorrow for another Artful INKables post!
Stamps: Miss Anya from the Greeting Farm; Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Going Grey, Pacific Point DP; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, B12 Ice Blue, B14 Light Blue, E00 Skin White, E35 Chamois, E55 Light Caramel; Accessories: Kaiser Blue Self Adhesive Gems, Silver Cord, Large Regular Circle Nestabilities, Scalloped Edge Punch

Taylor Made!

This weekend Taylored Expressions celebrated their first birthday with a huge birthday bash! I know, how exciting! On Saturday there were 13 challenges issued, one every hour! I just had to play along! I have plans to complete all 13 challenges, but as of now I have two left to complete. I thought that today I would share with you two cards that I created. My first card is based on three different challenges! I used not only a sketch challenge issued by Karen, a color combination challenge hosted by Jodi and also I pulled out my mom's sewing machine and got to work on Jackie's challenge! I had so much fun with this card, and it was great to use some of the supplies that I had in my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kits, I have been loving my kits and having them all near by was just perfect for all these challenges! For my second card I not only created a card following Laura's sketch challenge but I also added Charmaine's color combo to this card as well. I have had these simply adorable floral stamp set since it came out, but I only had the chance to create a few other cards with this one, so it was nice for this set to get some time time. I also love how these three colors turned out looking like together, just so pretty! I hope you like the cards I shared today, I really did have a lot of fun with these challenges this weekend! Have a great day!
