Home Tweet Home

With every Gina K stamp release a few of members of the Design Team host challenges, and this release was no different. There were three great challenges posted for everyone to play along with, and although I wasn't able to complete them all, I did get the chance to create one card for one of the challenges. I decided that since I only had time for one card I would create a card for the color combo challenge. This time around the challenge was to use the colors pink and brown, with an option for a neutral color added to the mix. I used white for my neutral color and got to work coloring in this fun image from the Home Tweet Home set. I still can't believe that this set has sitting there uninked! I only have a few more Gina K sets that haven't seen ink, slowly I am working my way through, unless of course I order more stamps and the list continues to grow! I used some Pink Pirouette paper as the card base and layered Scarlet Jewel over that and added this fun dotted DP I picked up in a large paper pack I bought at a garage sale a while ago. But it seemed to be missing something, then my mom saw something in my room and suggested I used it, so raffia ended up on my card and I think it really worked out. I hope you like today's post, be sure to stop by tomorrow for my weekly Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! Have a great day!

Hey There Lady!

Tonight there is a stamp release for There She Goes and of course not only will there be a great party, but there was also a super fun contest! This month's contest was to create a card not the typical size of regular cards, it had to be a different shape and size. I decided to use some of my new and fun Nestabilities to create my card size and shape! Then came layers, lots of layers and some fun red and cranberry shades for this super stylish lady to wear. I was able to find so many embellishments that matched my colored image, I just love when that happens! Hope you like it! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Prettie Animals!

Today is Wednesday, which means it's time for another Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share with you the card I created for Jules' Animal challenge! Two weeks ago Julie challenged us to use animals on our creation, simple enough but something to think about none the less. I wasn't sure if I should use one of the animal stamps that Paper Pretties has or if I should use one of the Sophia stamps and add animals to it in some way, oh the choices! I decided to go along with my most recent theme and use one of the stamps that hasn't seen much ink in my Paper Pretties collection. I typically use the main image of a set, but the super cute additional images sometimes get left behind, including this little turtle that comes with the Copper set Beach Bum. I used some fun and bright colors, complete with a bit of ribbon and some fun oval punches. Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations!
I hope you enjoyed today's creation, as always this weeks Design Team challenge was just so much fun! You should play along if you get the chance, the more the merrier! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Some Paper Piecing!

I had so much fun this week creating a gift card in a card! I had never made one so when I saw the My Favorite Things challenge for the week to be to create a gift card I just had to give it a try! I really do like this stamp set, it doesn't get nearly enough ink. Coloring the main image in this stamp set is just so much fun, there are so many little parts to color in and I had a lot of fun with it.I love the colors used in the My Favorite Things Summer Paper Pack and the matching ribbon is perfect for it too. Aren't these 'summer' colors so bright and fun! I love the brighter colors of the summer, glad to see some fun colors in my creations again. Hope you like today's card, have a great day!

A Father's Day Pretties

Good morning! Today is Monday, so you know what that mean?! It's time for a Paper Pretties creation! Today I decided to share the Father's Day card that I created for my Dad to match the cute little box I made a while ago. For Father's Day this year we had a lovely time, the entire family went to dinner. My Dad wanted some ribs, so we brought him to a nice restaurant known for their ribs, then after dinner we went to his favorite diner for desert, it was all very yummy! Then we came home and opened gifts and cards, all in all it was simple but a lot of fun. I hope you all had wonderful days with your family for Father's Day! Have a great day!

A Bit of Bella

It has been ages, or at least it seems like ages since I have used any of my Stamping Bella stamps. Then, while at work earlier this week a coworker asked if I could possibly create a graduation card for her to use, the only catch was that the graduation was on Thursday, and she asked me on Tuesday. I agreed to create a card for the graduation gift. Of course I asked what her school colors were and what sort of card she would like, I was told to just create what I thought would work, and so I did. I dug through my binders till I found my Diplomabella and got to work! I colored in Bella with her school colors and used my Nestabilities to create a great focal point for the card. Then I wasn't sure what sort of background paper to use, and I decided to create my own. So after some more digging I found my Tassel Time stamp set from SU!, perfect for some background paper! So I create some fun green and yellow background paper, plus plenty of layers in the matching paper and some bling to just complete it all together. Then at the last minute I thought it needed a little something extra, so I used this great green and golden ribbon. Hope you like my Bella creation, it was so nice to use some of those Bellas again! Hope you have a great weekend!

Girl's Night Out

I thought today would be a fine time to share some of the creations I made while participating in the My Favorite Things Judges challenges. I didn't get the chance to create something for all the challenges, but I did participate in most. I got my Girl's Night Out stamp set as soon as I could and it arrived in time to create some goodies! As soon as I saw this set I just had to make wine charms! Plus, my Mom has a friend who I thought would love a pair of margarita earrings to go with the charms!

Hope you enjoy what I made, I really had a lot of fun creating this set! Of course, these stamps really scream to be used for some fun goodies! Hope you have a great day!

Surfs Up!

Surf's Up Man! A few weekends ago I had a lot of fun with several stamps from The Greeting Farm, this one being Surfer Ian. Of course with this image it needed to be bright and summery, I love the floral paper with this one, perfect for a surfer dude! I told you that you would be seeing more summery stamps around here, and this is a great starting point. I really do love the summer, the smells, the weather, the fruit, the outdoors, all just a blast! I hope you enjoy today's card, I know I had a lot of fun with this one! Have a great day!

Pretties Sketch Time!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and now that it is Monday, it's time for Paper Pretties fun! I love when Danielle hosts the weekly Pretties Challenges, and this one is one of my favorites, a sketch challenge! Each week Danielle hosts a new challenge, and they seriously seem to get better and better with each week! For this one I decided to use my Beach Bum stamp, its been ages since this guy has seen ink, and it was long over due! Isn't he just adorable! With the summer coming I have been digging out my summer stamps, so get ready for some summer splashing! I didn't want to use a flower with this stamp, didn't seem 'manly enough' for our cutie Cooper, so I decided to create a stacked button detail instead. Now onto the challenge details! How to Enter: Make your card using the provided sketch and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s). Upload the card to the Paper Pretties gallery. Please include it in the Weekly Challenges category and use keyword PWC56.

Pretty in Pink

I am so glad that some of my uninked stamps are getting inked up, I have been doing great with that! Hoping to cintune creating more things this weekend using some stamps that have never seen ink. Today I thought I would post a card I made a few weeks ago for one of the VSN challenges. The challenge was to create a card using seven of one embellishment, so I went bling! I had so much frun with this card, fun, pink, bright, and blingy! I really love this Bitty Dots paper from PTI and it really makes the background pop, plus I had a lot of fun with layers, can you tell?! Hope you have a great day! Enjoy the weekend!

Another Father's Day Creation

Good morning! I finished all the Father's Day cards for my coworker on Wednesday night, this card being one of the last three. I have lots of PaperTrey Ink stamps, but to look at my card collection or my blog you seriously wouldn't know it. I use their papers all the time, their buttons have become one of my favorite embellishments, and their DP is yummy....and those you see several times a week here, but their stamps never seem to get their ink time! Well this set finally saw some ink, and although this card is very simple, I really like how it came out. In fact, my coworker just loved this card, he wasn't sure if he wanted to give it to his brother anymore. I hope you like it, a little Fatherly love. Have a great day!

Happy Father's Day

With Father's Day right around the corner, I have to get these Father's Day cards done! I had two more to create, and I decided to use the same stamps that I used on my last card. This Gina K stamp set is just so much fun to use and I just love how these images work so nicely. Two of my coworkers' brothers were in the coast guard, so these cards are completely perfect! For this one I used a different color pallet and I love how it came out. I think the red and brown mix really worked out nicely with this card, plus I had a lot of fun coloring this super cute image again! I also used my Copics this time instead of my colored pencils, both styles of coloring showed up wonderfully with this image. Hope you like today's card, have a great day!

Pretties Wednesday!

Today is Wednesday which means its Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge time! Today I get to share with you a card I made for Christi's challenge. Two weeks ago Christi issued a challenge to the Pretties Girl's to create a 3x3 notecard and have buttons on your creation. How simple and fun is that challenge! I decided to use my Lady Liberty stamp on this weeks challenge, she looks so pretty and cute on this little card. I know the tones are a bit on the darker shade of things, but I really wanted to use this fun star paper I got at my local Costco in a big box of paper. I think the darker tones in the background really makes her pop in this card. Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations!
I love buttons, so this challenge was right up my alley! Hope you enjoy today's card, always fun! Have a great day!

Unity Blues

Each month Unity is issuing a challenge for a Guest Designer spot the following month. How exciting is that! This months challenge is to create a monochromatic card, and I went with blue, blue, and more blue! When I sat down and started thinking about which stamp to use for this challenge, I just had to use my favorite stamp from the Unity Kit of the Month for May...another sweet day! I really love this adorable bunch of flowers, isn't it just too cute! After I stamped the flowers in Pacific Point ink I wanted to shade the image, but I wasn't sure how. I eventually decided that some shimmerz would be perfect to complete this flower. I then ran the image through my cuttlebug and started digging through my decorative paper. It took a little while, but I found this fun blue paper to use with this main image. Of course no card is complete without at least one embellishment, and I started shifting through my ribbon stash to find this super yummy May Arts ribbon! In all it's shimmery goodness this ribbon just finished off my card. Hope you like this blue Unity card as much as I do! Have a great day! Enjoy!

Aloha!

Today is Monday, so you know what that means, its time for another Pretties Post! I hope everyone had a great weekend, I finally got some much needed gardening done and I planted some wonderful flowers in a newly cleared flower bed! So for today's card post I decided to share a card I created at the last Paper Pretties Pajama Party! That's right, during out June release party at Paper Pretties Charmaine hosted a great techniques challenge! She asked us to use baby wipes in some way and create a card, so I got to work. I did finish the card while at the party but I ran out of time to post it that night, since everyone else had already headed off to bed, so I thought today would be an excellent choice to share my creation! I used my baby wipes to create a fun background for this fun Aloha Sophia card. Isn't Aloha Sophia just adorable, I think she may be one of my favorite Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month. All I did was use my baby wipe as an ink pad, that's right I picked three reinkers that I thought worked well together and ran the baby wipe over a piece of glossy cardstock. It gave me this fun streaky effect to the background paper, doesn't it look sweet! I love this technique and it has been ages since I dug these reinkers out of there box! Hope you enjoyed today's Pretties Post! Have a great Monday!

There She Goes...

Each month There She Goes releases fun new stamp sets, and with those releases Kate on SCS hosts a swap! Last month I created a fun card for the swap, and I had a great time making this one! I went pink, pink, on pink. These little cupcakes are just adorable, and you can't see them from this shot, but I used my Copic Spica pens to give each cupcake a bit of shine! The paper is from my K&Co box of decorative paper, it really is a nice pattern, don't you think. Plus I used my new favorite ribbon, this super cute and thin May Arts ribbon. Hope you liked my There She Goes creation and that you have a great day!

More My Favorite Things!

I was starting to fall behind on my swaps so I decided to create two cards not only for last weeks My Favorite Things sketch and WTG challenge, but also as the cards for a swap I signed up for on SCS. The first card features not only the great sketch that was posted in the My Favorite Things Forum, but also one of my favorite flopsey, Cupcake Flopsey! I wasn't sure which paper to use for the background and I found this adorable background paper from my K&Co box! Then for my second card I followed the challenge issued by Joanne last week to create a card using two stamp sets! I had plenty of stamp sets to pick from for this one and I went with my Hangin' With My Peeps set for the cute sentiment, and the images from the Girl's Night Out stamp set! I really like the colors I picked for this one, its not only a lot of fun, but really bright! Hope you liked today's card, I had a lot of fun creating these! Have a great day!

Flutter On By

I had a lovely time this past weekend creating some fun and summery card featuring stamps from The Greeting Farm! I answered the Summer Design Team call issued from The Greeting Farm and we were asked to create cards using the colors yellow and orange, so my first card was this fun and springy Flutter By Anya. I had the hardest time finding decorative paper to match the purples and yellows I used in my main image, but after much sorting through paper and paper packs I found this sheet of paper that I bought last summer while at a crop, pretty isn't it. Then I had to use some sparkle, and I pulled out the crystals I bought while in NYC this weekend as well, aren't they pretty! I found myself in a bead store staring down possible gem colors and I had to pick a few, in fact I went with 7 different colors and 72 of each....oops! But I am loving these things, I used them on this card, and the card I posted here yesterday. Super fun and super shiny! I also thought that the corner to this card seemed empty so I got out my Prima flowers until I found one single flower that seemed to match and I dug through my PaperTrey buttons to find the one perfect to finish off the center. I hope you liked today's card, I know I had a lot of fun creating this one!

Butterfly In the Sky

It's Wednesday which means more Paper Pretties fun! Today I get to share with you a card I created for Jessica's challenge from tow weeks ago. Jessica challenged the Pretties Girl's to create a card with butterflies! I mean who doesn't love butterflies, I couldn't wait to get started on this one! I went through my decorative papers until I found a bright and happy butterfly paper that I wanted to use, and this paper in particular reminding me of dancing, so Sophia Ballerina would be perfect for this card! So I stamped her out and got to work, know that this card should turn out to be a lot of fun. I had a great time with this challenge, thanks Jessica! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations!
Hope you like today's creation, I had a lot of fun with this card. Have a great day!

A Bit Masculine

This weekend I got the chance to participate in one of the Gina K release challenges over at the SCS forum and I had so much fun! This challenge was to create a masculine card, and since I have been asked to create Father's Day cards, I decided this was the perfect time to create one! I love using my woodless colored pencils from Koh-I-Noor especially with gemasol, the results are just so neat. The way an image can be shaded this way, I just love it! I have three more cards to create for this holiday for one of the guys from work, I don't know which stamps I will be using, but I think this card works wonderfully, in fact, one of the recipients works for the coast guard. When I was asking for color and hobbies I mentioned lighthouses as a possibility, and he was so excited to hear that I had a lighthouse stamp, hopefully he will like this card as much as I do! Hope you have a great day!
