Snuggle Bunnies!

This week is the last week of My Favorite Things Idol and I just can't believe how the time has flied though! This week being the last challenge, the topic was open ended and I had no idea what to create, but then I heard all this baby talk on the thread and thought baby card! Plus I had yet to ink up my new Cuddle Bunnies stamp set so I got to work! I went blue for baby boys,
as of right now I have no plans to send this card to someone, but it is always great to have a baby card on hand for anything unexpected. Aren't these two bunnies just adorable?! I love how they are snuggling on a moon, with that little hanging star, the perfect little touch! I also got to use my cuttle bug a bit for this one and I really had a lot of fun with it. If you haven't heard yet, Shannon (Mrs.Mac on SCS) WON the competition, she has now been named the My Favorite Things Idol! Congrats Shannon, your creations were wonderful the entire competition, and congrats once again to all of the finalists throughout the entire process! Hope you got the chance to participate, and if not make sure you don't miss it in the future! Have a great day!

Pretties Pretty!

Today is Wednesday which means it's time for another great Paper Pretties Design Team challenge! Today I get to share with you the card I created for Jackie P's challenge issued two weeks ago to create an all white card with the exception of the image. Talk about being intimidated by a challenge! But, with all the great Pretties Girl's I know these cards are going to be wonderful! For my card I decided to use a stamp set that has been collecting dust recently in my collection, Soakin Up the Sun. This stamp set is still one of my favorites, but since the weather was cold I couldn't bring myself to use this beauty, but the weather this past week has been beautiful so I think a little bit of sun would be perfect! I decided that pink would be best as the main color of the image, I even lined the edge of the main image with a line of pink to break up the background a bit. Thank goodness I have my cuttle bug and nesties! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations!

Shopaholic!

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend, I know that I did! The best part about having a three day weekend was that for once I actually got everything I wanted to do complete, and I know that never seems to happen. I was able to catch up on a lot of swaps that I had fallen behind on, in fact I still have a few more I need to complete, but those aren’t due until early next month so I should be fine on those. The card I am sharing for today I created for Scrappy’s Elzybells card swap. It has been so long since I’ve inked up on of my Elzybells to create with and not stamp out images for a friend, and this little girl is one of my favorites, Shopaholic! I don’t know about you, but there is a little part in me that really identifies with this lovely lady. When I see new stamps I just want to click that ‘buy now’ button, but I know better. Okay, so I do buy a lot of stamps, but I try to be good from time to time, I think you know what I mean. Not only was I thrilled to use this stamp, but I was thrilled to use this adorable paper! This weekend I finally got up to AC Moore and they had these big boxes of 200 sheets of DP on sale for $14.99, I was so excited to see that when I got there I got the last box! So far I have used several different designs and I know I will be using this paper a lot more! Hope you enjoy today’s post! Have a great day!

The Case of the Curious Card!

I have always watched as some adorable challenges have been hosted at The Greeting Farm, but I never seem to take the time to play along, but this time I got the chance to create with everyone else! This past week a new Case of the Curious Card appeared on The Greeting Farm Blog and I took the time to try it out. Here is the card we had to use as inspiration: I loved how all the papers seemed to work together in some way, and the fact that the papers were angled I thought worked wonderfully. So when I started my card I knew that I just had to use one of the Wild Sprouts I ordered a few weeks ago at a Farmer's Market. I love these adorable stamps, in fact I now have a nice sized collection of stamps from The Greeting Farm and I am working on creating more cards with them. I used some fabulous May Arts ribbon as the based to the card, plus I used my ink pads and a sponge to create a nice triple layer flower that I used a button to center the flower. I really like how the layers turned out on this card, enjoy! I hope you like today's post, I know I had a lot of fun with this card!

Red, White, and Blue!

Yay! Okay, here is the post you were supposed to see this morning, I am finally home and able to post today's post!
Welcome to the last day of my Unity All Week Long! I have had so much fun this week sharing with you cards that I've created with my most recent Unity stamps. For today I am sharing with you a card I created in resp once to both of the wonderful challenges that Jeanne posted for Hip Hop! I love the weekly Hip Hop and the challenges are always a lot of fun to play along with. This weeks first challenge was to create a card using stars and the second challenge was to create a card with the sentiment as the main focus to the card, simple to combine! I pulled out my January Kit of the Month - Love Ect. for a great star image and my CONFESSION: i {luv} unity Scrapbooking kit! This sentiment, 'Free', is perfect for any Red, White and Blue card!

I also figured since this weekend was Memorial Day, this card would help celebrate the freedom that our fine Men and Women have maintained for us with their services. I created a simple one layer card, complete with some fun ribbon, and super wonderful stars! I hope you liked today's post, I love how this background came out! Oh, and we have a winner!

I randomly selected one winner from all of yesterdays posted comments, and the winner is:

jan farnworth said...
i love your flowers. this is one of my favorite stamps out of this kit that i have not inked yet i just got my kit yesterday but yellow is one of my fav colors anyway.

Congrats Jan! Please e-mail Eryn at Unity and let her know that I selected your name from the comments during my Week Long Unity posts! I hope you enjoyed today's post! Have a great weekend!

A Bit of a Delay....

Good morning! I am unfortunately having some ‘technical difficulties’ with my blog and the post I had ready for this morning to post. I still have all the text but my wonderful card images have disappeared! Unfortunately, I have work until late this afternoon, but as soon as I get home and have access to my images my Unity post for today (the last of my Unity All Week Long!) and I will post, and hopefully blogger will cooperate! In the meantime make sure you commented on yesterday’s post below for a chance to a free Unity single!

It's Hip Hop!

That's right boys and girls today is Thursday so today is all about the Hip Hop over at the Unity Forum on SCS, and you know you can't miss that! As with every Thursday, today includes a fabulous hop through the Unity Design Team members, stamp specials, challenges, and give-aways all day long! What more could anyone want for a fun filled day of Unity? Today I am sharing a card I created for my Grandma's birthday, her birthday was actually last week, but since she was coming to visit this week we are celebrating her birthday today! Today after work we are eating a nice dinner, cake, and of course presents! So when I was deciding which stamp to use for her birthday card I was instantly drawn to this wonderful Unity stamp from this months Unity Kit of the Month - ...another sweet day! I think this floral stamp is my favorite image that comes with this set, it is just so darn elegant! Plus, this card works perfectly with what I used to do while I visited my Grandma growing up. I used to spend hours upon hours on my Grandma's living room floor with a pair of scissors and construction paper, I think I've come a long way since then...but have I?Do you like the coloring details? I love how these flowers came out, I masked the first image after I stamped and duplicated the image. I used two shades of green on the leaves and two shades of yellow on the petals with my Copic markers and I think it really works well together. Plus the color combination of brown and yellow really pops off the page, I am hoping she likes what I created. And before I sign off for the day....be sure to leave a comment on this post to be entered to win a Unity single! That's right ladies, blog candy! Not any blog candy either, but Unity blog candy! I will select one winner to get a great Unity single, so be sure to comment! Have a great day everyone, enjoy the Hip Hopping!

Paper Pretties DT Challenge!

Today is Wednesday which means its Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge time! This week I get to share with you the creation I made for Jodi's challenge from two weeks ago. Jodi issued a color combination challenge with the choices to include Apricot Appeal, Baja Breeze, and Pacific Point, what a great combination of colors! I had so much fun using this stamp set Home Sweet Home as well! Isn't this set just too cute?! I love the images that come with the set and the sentiments are wonderful as well, like this adorable 'For Sale' sign, perfect for any card. Hope you like this color combination, I know I sure do! More Unity Fun!

Today marks day three in my Unity All Week Long and I am thrilled that I can continue to share some Unity creations with all of you. Today I am sharing two cards that have shown up in the Unity gallery on SCS from me, but have never been posted to my blog and I doubt many people have seen either card. The first card was from Shannon's (Mrs.Mac) VSN challenge this past weekend on SCS. Her challenge was to create a card using food or drink as inspiration so I went the drink route! I have been eyeing this stamp set since it arrived on my door step and I was thrilled to find a challenge that would work well with these adorable drinks! Plus I love the bright colors that worked perfectly with the set and matching sentiment. For my second card I am sharing one of the cards I created about three weeks ago now for one of the Unity Anniversary challenges. Did you play along with the Anniversary challenges in the Unity forum? The whole week was a blast, unfortunately I only got the chance to complete one challenge for the week, but I had a blast none the less! This was the first card I created using my April Kit of the Month and I had a blast with it! The challenge was to create a card using the color combination of Kraft, So Saffron, Pacific Point, and Ruby Red. I know its a bit hard to see, but the leaves on the branch are actually So Saffron and I think it works. I love the soft look to this bird and the simplicity of this card was just wonderful. Hope you liked today's creations, be sure to check back to see what I have in store for tomorrow

Beach Days with Unity!

Welcome to day two of Unity All Week Long! Today I decided that I would share with you some more cards I made for this weekends VSN challenges over on SCS. On Sunday I had the chance to participate in another super fun VSN challenge. When I read the challenge description I instantly thought of my Unity stamp set Beach Days and Sun Rays! I create these cards for the first challenge of the weekend Double Down, where you had to make two of the same card. The hostess also listed a few things that one may think of when they think fun times, and my mind went directly to the Beach! So I pulled out my Beach Days and Sun Rays stamp set and got to making some fun monochromatic cards! I have been trying to find some ink time for this stamp set since it arrived on my doorstep since there are so many great images in this set, and I finally got the chance to ink it up! I really like how my little 'Beach Days' list turned out. I started by cutting the edges a little roughly then sponging the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, followed by crumpling the paper itself to look so distraught. I also included a few things on my list with a nice copper gel pen, gives it a bit of a shine. Hope you liked today's creations! Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more Unity fun!

How wonderful is that! I am so excited to share with you my creations with these new sets, I mean could I have asked for better timing or what?! So lets get started! For my first card this week I wanted to use my Everyday Adorable stamp set! I love how these adorable images come with matching sentiments, makes for an easy and fun card. Not only did I create this card for my first post, but I also use the VSN challenge Hitting the Tables for a starting point. The challenge was to create a Black and Red card with White as the only Neutral tone, and I love how this card turned out! I stamped the cute flower image first then colored in all the little dots that create the flower but, then I ran it through my Cuttle Bug using my Curved Rectangle Dies. Unity KoTM Hop!

Today is the Unity Kit of the Month Blog Hop! All sorts of wonderful ladies have signed up and are posting great creations as we speak! The Hop started at the Unity Blog, where Angela kicked things off, if you haven't stopped by, please make sure to start the Hop at http://theunitystampco.blogspot.com/ ! It's going to be wonderful! For my card I used my July Kit of the Month - It's the Little Things and I love this stamp, in fact it's one of my favorite stamps from a KoTM. I normally go really cutesy with my Unity images and card, but a friend from work had asked me to make a birthday card for his mom, using a butterfly and earth tones. So, when I was laying out my posts for this week I instantly thought of using a Unity butterfly for my card, and this one I thought would be perfect!I hope you liked my card for today, I love the elegant feel to this card, plus I think it shows how versatile Unity stamps can be!

The next stop on the Unity Kit of the Month Hop is Sherry at http://workingandstamping.blogspot.com! I can't wait to see what the rest of the Hop holds!

Verve-y

I sometimes make masses of cards and don't have enough time to share them all on my blog, and since I had nothing scheduled for today's post, I thought I would share a few cards in my 'to post' folder! For the April release party for Verve Stamps Julee issued three great sketch challenges and one fabulous color combination challenge. These are the last two cards from the three sketches that were posted for the April stamp release that I haven't had the chance to post about. I went with pink and more pink with this first cupcake card, isn't it just cute fun! I love this cupcake stamp set and all my little embellishments, not too much, but super fun!
I think this card is perfect for something baby, and after my sister saw this card she 'stole' it. Now let me elaborate on that a bit, after I create a card I share it with my family members, sometimes if they have an event or something coming up they ask if they can use it. Now, sometimes I create cards with an intention in mind, and sometimes I just create cards to have that creativity rush, this card had no intentions. So my sister decided that she would like to use this card as part of her friends baby shower card! She is thrilled that I let her 'steal' the card, hopefully her friend will enjoy this card as much as my sister does! Hope you like today's cards, tomorrow I will be posting my Unity Blog Hop post, then all next week I am hosting 'Unity All Week Long' so lots of Unity creations coming your way soon!

Colors, Colors, Colors!

Today is Wednesday, which means Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge! This week I get to share with you a card I created for my own challenge! That's right, two weeks ago I challenged the Pretties Girl's to create a card using their favorite color and two shades of that color, one shade lighter and one shade darker. I love so many colors, but I would have to say that my favorite color would have to be blue, I am partial to teal, but blue is definitely my favorite color. I decided that Ballet Blue was my favorite shade, and Sky Blue and Pacific Point would be a great lighter and darker shade. I also wanted to use the new stamp Canadian Sophia, but blue just doesn't work, so instead I went floral! So she is a cheering Sophia, and I love it! Be sure to check out the other Pretties Girl's creations:
I can't wait to see what everyone created for this challenge, I know everyone did a great job, I mean they are the Pretties Girl's! Hope everyone has a great day!

More My Favorite Things

Good morning everyone! As the weeks go past My Favorite Things Idol has continued, each week getting more exciting! We are down to four more ladies, and as a Judge I am still playing right along. Last week the challenge was to create a card about Inspiring Women and using the colors Brown and Pink, simple enough. I try to get something for my Mom for Mother's Day every year that is about pampering her in some way, this year I got her a gift certificate for a Mani/Pedi plus I treated her to breakfast and made dinner for the whole family. She loved it, and no gift certificate is complete without a card to be inside of, so I used the My Favorite Things Idol Judges Challenge to create a card perfect to match the gift certificate. My mom is by far the most inspirational person in my lift and she loved the card! I hope you enjoy it as well, also be sure to stop by the forum on SCS to see who makes the top three after tomorrow night!

This past month I ordered the stamp set called Fresh Flowers, my very first Taylored Expressions stamp set! I was so excited when it finally arrived, but I've only had the chance to make a few cards with it so far. Yesterday after work I remembered that I had one more Mother's Day card to create for one of my coworkers so out came this Fresh Flowers set and I got to work! I decided to use this adorable flower and vase and the colors of Hibiscus and Lemon Tart. I am loving this new color from PTI and the way it matches the rest of their colors is great! I wanted a little bling do I added some Gold Glimmer Shimmerz to the petals and finished of the card with a simple bow over the sentiment. Hope you enjoyed today's post, I had a lot of fun making another Mother's Day Card! Have a great day!

This past Friday Paper Pretties released three new stamp sets, included in those three stamp sets was a brand new line of stamps from one of the Pretties Girl's! That's right Danielle is now the extremely proud illustrator of a new line of stamps called Fat Cat Stamps! How is that for exciting news! During the release party Charmaine issues three great challenges and I just had to use this new set of stamps called Home Sweet Home for the great color challenge. We were asked to use Tangerine Tango, Kraft, and Chocolate Chip in one card and this super cute house image from the new stamp set Home Sweet Home was perfect! I used my new Curved Rectangle Nestabilities and some fun Bitty Dots paper. I really am loving working with this new stamp set, have you see some of the other great examples the Pretties Girl's have created with this set! I think we all are loving the new releases, be sure to stop by and view the Paper Pretties Gallery, there are so many great creations to ogle over! Hope you have a wonderful day! Pretties Wednesday!

Today is Wednesday which means its Paper Pretties Design Team Challenge day! Two weeks ago, Jessie challenged the Prettie Girls to a use one of the older Prettie stamps and "Make It New Again"! How wonderful is that?! I did a lot of digging through my old Pretties stamps to find the Look Out World stamp set. I haven't used this poor Cooper stamp in what seems like ages, he really has been neglected, so glad that Jessie made us "Make it New Again" today! So I started using that Chatter Box DP that I have been using a lot lately, its just the perfect colors for a guy card, you know. I also wanted to add a little scallops today, so I pulled out the scissors and the Nestabilities for today's card! Thank you for stopping by to see today's creation, be sure to check out all the other Pretties Girl's creations!

Viva La Verve!

I have a bit more Verve to share today! This past week I completed all the Viva La Verve challenges all with the 'twists' of course and I was eligible for the Viva La Verve Champion. Guess what?! I actually won, I am still in shock, my name was randomly selected and I will be getting an either release worth of stamps from Verve. Its been a few days and I swear I haven't come down from hearing that I won! So I would like to say thank you to Julee for having theses great challenges and prizes and thank you to Amber for posting some amazing sketches every week! Now on to the cards! Since I won for completing all 5 challenges, today I am posting all five cards together, hope you enjoy!

Surprisingly enough, each sketch I seemed to pull another color to use, what are the odds of that?! Honestly that never happens with me, I tend to get stuck in color families but not this time. My second card is my favorite sketch and favorite card from the grouping, although a lot of people seem to like the first card I posted above.I am a bit behind in my birthday card stash and the two cards above I plan to give out as birthday cards to friends and family. I can't wait to see the response I get from them, I have some people in mind for these cards too, I know they will love them! Both this Mother's Day card and the first card I made for one of the guys at work, I still have two more I need to complete for his cards. Can you believe that Mother's Day is almost here? Its already the beginning of May, I can't believe that its already that late in the year, where did half of 2009 go? Oh yea, I slept through about two months of it...oops!My last card I followed the sketch and made it a nice spring card, I love how I worked with the shades of these colors, I think it really works well. A little too simple maybe but fun all the same. Hope you enjoy all the cards I shared today, I really had a lot of fun creating cards for this challenge and thank you again to Julee for making the prize so amazing, I can't wait to see the next stamps to be released!

We released three new stamp set and re-released Rainy Day Friends in rubber! Today's stamp set is called Lady Liberty, and she is just darling. I recently received my Curved Rectangles Nestabilities and I can't seem to put these things down! I used them for one of the cards during the release party and now I can't seem to reach for anything else! I love how perfect these Nestabilities are for the stamps that were released over the weekend. I decided that I wanted to use the newest Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge for my card today. Each week in the Paper Pretties forum Danielle hosts a wonderful challenge, this week it is a sketch challenge! You know how I love sketch challenges too, so I just had to create something! Unity Lovin'

This week Unity Stamps celebrated their one year anniversary! All week long there was give aways, contests, challenges and all sorts of chatter! Not only was the week a wonderful celebration, but it was also May 1st which brought about a new Unity monthly challenge. Each month Unity will be posting a challenge on the first of the month and everyone will have until the evening of the second to create a card for that challenge using that month's Kit of the Month. Sounds simple enough, but what would one win you ask? A Guest Designer spot for the following month! How neat is that! So when I saw the sketch posted on Friday I took the time yesterday to create a card following the sketch. I had so much fun with this card! I used all bright colors and some really great stamps from the Kit of the Month for April that I had yet to ink up! After I completed the card for this sketch I decided that I really love it and it will be the card I give to my Mom for Mother's Day later this week, I can't wait till she sees it! Hope you like today's card, tomorrow is more Pretties time!
