Pretties ATC Style

Another Wednesday is here and its a Pretties one! Two weeks ago Jackie P. challenged us to create an ATC (atrist trading card) and add it to a card. I haven't made an ATC for a few months now so I was thrilled when I heard about this challenge. I just had to use Gliding By Sophia one more time before the new month is here, after tomorrow she gets put away until February...ekkk! So squeezing in one more fun card was a must do! I used my marvy circle punch and scalloped circle punch to make an ATC, I added some fun brads and of course some dots to finish off the ATC. I then went a little brad happy and used the same paper and colors for the card base. I just love this paper, sometimes I used a DP and I just can't seem to put it down, this Basic Grey sheet has become that for me recently. Hope you like today's creation, be sure to sign up since today is the last day that you can receive this stamp as one of your Stamp of the Month stamps, you have until midnight tonight!
Today it's Jules turn to issue the Pretties Challenge that will be posting two weeks from now and she would love if you joined in on the fun! Be sure to stop by Jules blog to check out full details, there are Jules Jewels involved, so you know its got to be good! Have a great day and a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Make sure to check out the other Pretties Girls ATCs today!

A Little Gina K

Its T-Shirt and Hoodies time! I was sorting through my pictures and I never shared these cards! I made these cards forever ago for Gabby's swap, the first card was for the humor group and the sweatshirt was for the Hoodie swap. I just love these stamps, when Mel create stamps they are always so much fun and exciting to try out. These two sets have quickly become my favorite stamp sets of hers, I guess because of how versatile they are.
I made the football inspired hoodie since it was during football season for my brother, of course after I made it my Mom was bummed that I didn't use his school colors. But none the less I love the looks, the simple color scheme the fun stripes, what more could you ask for. Hope you like what I got to share with you today, tomorrow is Pretties Wednesday so be sure to stop by!

Angelic

With Christmas just passing, I still am in the holiday mode, so I wanted to share a card I created with Angel Wings Sophia. I just love how wonderful image this image is, it just warms we me to see this little angel stamp. I pulled out the paper I used for a card earlier this month for my Mom and got to work. I was able to find that perfect ornament if anyone was wondering, I got my Mom a brass snowflake, I just love it and so does she. My Mom is by far my best friend and always has been, I talk to her about everything and I mean everything. Today in fact I woke up to find a package on my steps from Hong Kong, it had her name on it so I ran down and gave it to her. She came back up to my room later to tell me that the package was in fact for me. I was so confused, I had no idea what she talked about, I opened up the package to find a doll! And not just any doll, I was born in 1984 and I was a huge Rainbow Bright fan, inside that package was a Rainbow Bright doll! I had wanted one for Christmas years ago and never got it, so she tracked one down to give it to me this year! She really is the best! Hope you like today's card, I think it is just precious.

Merry Merry....belated

I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday! I had a nice day with my family which always nice and getting to spend more time with each of them is great. Since I've been doing the Christmas thing, instead of sharing more Christmas things with you today I want to share a card I created for a Verve swap what seems like ages ago. I guess it would be two months or so by now there was a great Verve swap that I joined with not only some of the Verve Divas but also the Owner and head Diva Julee! The cards that I received from this swap were just stunning, really something to enjoy. I love this color combination of white, dark brown, and light teal the colors just work so well together. Plus these birds are just too cute together, love them! Hope you like what I shared today, be sure to drop by tomorrow for some fun!

Put a Hole in it!

Its another Paper Pretties Wednesday! Two weeks ago Jillian challenged the Pretties Girls to create a card and 'Put a Hole in it'! That means we can not fill any of the hole we create, oh my! So I pulled out Gliding By and got to work ladies, with holes and dots! I used this adorable Sophia who is the January Stamp of the Month! Be sure to sign up before the end of December, otherwise you'll have to wait until the February release party, and you know you can't wait that long for such a precious stamp! I used my Spots & Dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder in the background and layered Sophia on some great Pixie Pink paper, making sure to add a few holes as accents. Then to finish off the card I used some organdy dotted ribbon to match! Hope you like today's creation, and be sure to check out the other Pretties Girls creations, as always they are all just too wonderful! Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve and of course Christmas! Happy and Healthy Holidays to you and yours!

Another Box in a Bag

I warned you that I was on a Box in a bag kick and here is more proof. This one I decided to create for a Secret Santa I had signed up for with Unity, so this was on of the things that my Secret Sister received. I picked cream, gold, and green for the color scheme with these cute stockings, aren't they adorable! I got this adorable little stocking a few weeks ago during one of Hip Hop Thursday specials, it was in a package and all the stamps are just wonderful! I love when Angela creates little bundles, not only do you get lots of great stamps but you get them for a great price, I mean who can resist!? Today I completed my Christmas shopping, okay you caught me, I didn't really, but my Mom picked up the last thing I needed so I am all done. Hope you are as lucky! Have a great day and happy holidays!

Cookies!

That's right, yummy stuff! Today is Monday which means it is my Paper Pretties creation day and since I baked cookies with my Mom yesterday I decided to pull out my Made with Love set. I love this baking Lexi, she looks so cute and wonderful! Plus, with the holiday upon us, I had to pull out the red and green for this one! I love baking and baking around the holidays is always the best time, there were fourdifferent types of cookies we made. We made the traditional sugar cookies with decorations, candy cane cookies, mini chocolate chip cookie cups and something called gum drop cookies. These are by far my favorite type of cookie hands down but unfortunatly my Mom only makes them once a year, which is Christmas time! They have coconut, oats, gum drops and yummy stuff! I hope you are all ready, because Christmas is almost here! Have a great day and get ready!

Baggie!

Okay, this week I am sharing two more of these adorable boxes in a bag! I really do love this creation, the best part is that it only require paper, which makes it a super simple but totally fun thing to create! The little creation I made for Verve's project parade earlier this month and I had just so much fun with it! The challenge was to create an ABC, anything but a card. In fact, this was the first box in a bag I set out to create. I went with only two colors, but the compliment each other so nicely that really worked well with Verve's stamps. Whenever I try to create something with Verve stamps I want the creation, card of otherwise, to be really classy its just something that these stamps seem to portray to me. Does that happen to you? Do different stamp lines make you want to create specific types of creations...or am I just silly? Well, either way I hope you like today's box in a bag, I plan on posting one this week that I creating using stamps from Unity. Have a great day!

Its Almost Christmas!

With Christmas coming and almost here I have been trying to get some shopping done. I had intended to post something on here yesterday but my three hour shopping just drained me completely, so instead I am posting the Gina K card I made last weekend today! This month's Gina K release was wonderful and with any great release there is a challenge. This month there are three great challenges and I got the chance to create one card for one of the challenges. The challenge was to create a card using monochromatic color scheme and I went with red and white, and I just love the results. I used my aqua painted and a red ink pad to shade the pointsettas and then I used some fun shimmerz to really make those flowers sparkle. Hope you all enjoyed today's card sorry it wasn't posted yesterday.

Plaid!

Two weeks ago I challenged the Pretties Girls to create a card using plaid. I love the look of plaid, I don't know what it is, maybe its the architect in me that enjoy all the lines, but something about it just draws me in. I wanted to create a card using this paper I had from PaperTrey using the color scheme dark chocolate, very vanilla, and white. I think this Sophia, Gliding By, looks fabulous in plaid, wouldn't you agree. If you haven't heard yet Gliding By is January's Stamp of the Month, if you haven't signed up be sure to do so, you will love getting these stamps every month, I know I do! Be sure to check out what the other Pretties Girls created this week, I'm sure they are all wonderful as always! Have a great day everyone!

An Ornament

Before the Gina K release party this month Melanie issued a challenge based on her new stamp set called 'Hand in Hand'. You were supposed to make a card, 3D project of scrapbook page that reflects a memory of yours. Well after thinking it over I wanted to share with everyone a story about my Mom and my Grandma. Nine years ago my Grandma passed away and one of the things she left my Mom was a very pretty ornament and an Angel that my Mom adored and always put on the Christmas tree. Well two years ago the Angel broke, it some how slipped from the very top of the tree and she has not had the heart to replace it with another angel yet, instead we now use a star at the top of the tree. I know that every time she looks at the ornament that we still have she thinks about my Grandma, I know it makes her feel like she’s with us somehow in that ornament. This year my Mom has only asked for one thing for Christmas from each of us, she wants an ornament for her Christmas tree, so I am trying at the moment to find one that in some way will be as special as my Grandma's ornament. I think I will find an ornament that she loves, and when I do I plan on giving it to her with this card. Thank you for reading and looking.

Faux Tearing

Happy Monday all! Time to share another Pretties creation! This was my first card using the Stamp of the Month for January Gliding By. At the last Pretties release party Charmaine challenged everyone to create a card using the faux tearing technique, I had never tried this one out and I had a lot of fun. I stamped the snowflakes from the newly re-released Snowflake Kisses stamp set in VersaMark and then embossed the images in Vanila SU! embossing powder. I then used the faux tearing technique on the same paper and layered the background paper on some blue and white cardstock. I used my Nestabilities for layering Sophia on some bashful blue paper and I also shifted the image so that she was off centered on the oval. I finished the card off with some sheer metallic ribbon and lots of frosted lace stickles. I had so much fun trying this technique and using this image for the first time. If you have never been to a Pretties party be sure to stop by and join all the fun on the next one, you will have a blast! Have a great day everyone, thanks for stopping by!

Some MFT Creations

I shared with you the other day the project I created for the My Favorite Thing Release Challenge, but I haven't shared my cards for the Ambassador Challenges. Every month I forget that two lucky ladies host an Ambassador Challenge in the MFT forum in conjunction with the release party, well this month I remembered! I got the chance to not only create a card for one of the challenges, but I was able to make something for both, and I got lucky enough for my order to arrive, so I got to ink up two new sets as well! The first challenge was to create a card with a bit of blue and at least three buttons, so I pulled out my new Snow Bunny Flopsey and got to work! Isn't this Flopsey just too cute, I love him! I went with the winter theme and picked the blue shades that matched the background paper and a light brown button to match his little cup of hot chocolate.
The second challenge was to create a card using three ribbons and after some thought I decided to use the stamp set Totally Fantastic ans this adorable purse that comes in the set for my main image. Then I colored each purse in a different color and matched it with some fun shiny ribbon. I used neutrals as the base for the entire card and made it pop with the colors I picked for the purses and matching ribbon. Hope you enjoyed today's shared creation. Have a great weekend!

Hip Hop Hangover!

Once again it is Friday and time for Hip Hop Hangover! Another wonderful Thursday at the Unity Forum has come and gone and I once again had a blast chatting and creating. This week Jeanne had two more wonderful challenges to try out that I was able to play along with. The first challenge was to create a two layer card (one layer is the main image) with a Christmas theme. So what I did to begin was go through my Unity stamps and see what my options were, I ended up picking this cute tree stamp call Trinity Trio and I just love how it worked out. I tore the edge of the paper and added a little color to it, plus I stamped the same image on the base of the card and finished it off with some metallic ribbon and a spica glitter pen.

The second challenge of the day was to create a card with bling or baubles so I decided to use one of the stamps I got from my last order. This image comes from the set called Delectable Delights and it features some sweet treats! I thought this image would be a lot of fun to try out, I colored it in to look like different flavors of ice cream and then layered it on some scalloped circle punched. I love the cream and dark brown combination and I think it worked well with the pink addition. I added some bling in the four corners and used a spica glitter clear pen to make the entire ice cream cone shine. Hope you have a great Hip Hop Hangover! Have a great day!
2 Layer - Stamps: Trinity Trio from Unity; Paper: Glorious Green, Whisper White; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Glorious Green, G24 Willow, YG03 Yellow Green, R27 Cadmium Red, YG63 Pea Green, G05 Emerald Green, YG23 New Leaf; Accessories: Pop Dots, May Arts Metallic Organdy Ribbon

Girl's Night Out

This month with the My Favorite Things stamp release party Kim and her great Designers all hosted the Guest Designer Challenge. You were to alter something using your My Favorite Things stamps. After thinking it over for a bit I decided I wanted to create a 'Girls Night Out' gift set. For any girls complete movie experience one must have a few essentials....popcorn, raisinets, good & plenty, plus two movie tickets in there own little envelope to match. Then of course no MFT creation would be complete without pink and black, so there you have it. I had a lot of fun thinking up something to create and altering it all to match the MFT color scheme. Hope you enjoy, thank you for looking!

Colorful Box in a Bag!

Guess what ladies?! Its time for Pretties Wednesday again! Two weeks ago Jodi challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card using the color combination Real Red, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip. I love color challenges, they are always so much fun and Jodi picked some great colors for us to work with. Over this past week I have been entering all sorts of challenges and I made two of these Box in a Bags and I had to try creating one with these great colors! I decided to use the January Stamp of the Month Gliding By in conjunction with Snowflake Kisses which has been re-released in rubber! I love how these snowflakes work so well with this adorable new Stamp of the Month. If you have yet to sign up make sure to stop by the information page and read all about our stamp of the month program, its a great way to get these adorable stamps before anyone else, what would be better than that?!Doesn't she look oh too cute in her cold weather outfit?! If you don't have any Sophia stamps I must say that she has become one of my favorite Paper Pretties stamps, she is so cute and she looks so happy enjoying her winter day. A Bit of Bella

This past weekend Stamping Bella celebrated their two year anniversary of being in business! How exciting is that?! As part of their celebration they hosted three great challenges and I got the chance to play along with all three. The first challenge was to create a card using their signature colors pink and green, which I used presentabella for, isn't she cute!
The second challenge was 'Seeing Double' where everything should be in twos. So I created a card using Mimi and Max with two crystals and two ribbons as embellishments.
The last card I created was following a sketch challenge and for this card I wanted just some simple colors. I used Wendy Papillon as the main image and colored her in using shades of blues and greens. Then I tied it all together with some fun SU! colors and a little bling, because no bella card is complete without bling! Hope you all have a great day!

Snowflake!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I did some card making and getting ready for the holidays, there are so many things to do and so little time! This card is from the last Paper Pretties release party on December 1st, we had a blast! Charmaine issued three challenges throughout the night and this card I created for the second challenge which was to create a child's card. When I think of cards for kids I think of bright colors and fun patterns, so I decided to use Snowflake Kisses for this card, the perfect kids creation! Snowflake Kisses has been re-released in rubber, if you don't have him yet then pick him up, this set is just too cute! I used some really cute winter DP I had from my DCWV Glitter Christmas Stack and colored Snowflake in to match the paper. Hope you enjoyed what I shared today, enjoy the rest of your day!

Hanna Time!

This week Hanna Stamps hosted their December release and with any great release there is challengs involved! In fact there are two Hanna Stamps challenges for this months release both of which I got the chance to particpate in this weekend. The first challenge was to create something with stitching on it, now I've only done faux stitching before and I wanted to try out my little sewing machine. After using it, the mini provo craft sewing machine, I've decided I need a better one, in fact I have now asked for a paper crafting sewing machine for Christmas. It wouldn't work! Every time I pushed the button it would either snag or run the wrong way so I ended up cranking the needle myself so that it would stitch for me, which took forever. Thank goodness it ended up working alright. I used the stamp set Ski Bunny which I just love, she is now one of my favorite Hanna Stamps sets.
he second challenge was create a card with pink, and lots of it! I realized I had yet to ink up my Sleep Time Riley for this card, I looked at this stamp as a Sophie stamp, I would feel bad if I dressed Riley in pink. I like the pink and brown combination with this stamp, and I had to add some glitter! I used my frosted lace stickles to attach the pink dew drop and to make Sophie's slippers and hat bling. Hope you like today's cards! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Merry Christmas?

Ealier this week I got the chance to create a card for the Who's That Girl Challenge over in the My Favorite Things forum. This week it was to use the stamp set Merry Christmas, and I just love this set! I am very happy to say that this set has been inked up a few times already! In fact, as soon as this one came in the mail I just had to ink it up and it became one of the projects I designed for a get together with a few friends. I love how this stamp set it so much like how most people feel after wrapping masses of gifts. Every year my Dad buys gifts for my Mom and has me wrap them, becuse his wrapping is not that neat...so I wrap my gifts plus his, so I can identify with this lady! Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Hip Hop Hangover

Its time for another Hip Hop Hangover! Every Thursday Unity hosts Hip Hop where there are all sorts of prizes, stamp specials, a blog hop and two challenges. I had to much fun yesterday chatting with the ladies in the members forum on SCS and I got the chance to create two cards for the Hip Hop card challenges. The first challenge that Jeanne issued was to create a card using a sentiment as the focus of the card, I decided to use the Act Like Royalty stamp as my main focus. Then to spice it up I used hot pink and black plus this fun Rock Star DP, and of course what card would be complete without bling and primas! The second card challenge was to create a card with gold on it, in anyway. Now I'm not really a gold person, I am really more of a silver person then anything else, but I do have some gold supplies. I dug out my Rock Star DP again to use the paper in my background plus I pulled out my gold embossing powder. I really like the Growing in Unity stamp set and the main tree from the set I thought would be perfectly beautiful in gold. So I assembled a card and even added some lovely large gold brads to finish it all off. Hope you enjoyed today's Hip Hop Hangover, and if you have never been to a Unity Hip Hop you really should stop by, its hours of fun! Have a great day!

Spash of Color

I joined Paper Craft Planet this past weekend, I had to see what everyone was talking about for myself. I like how the format is different from SCS, plus there are even more wonderful people to meet, along with the same wonderful people I already know. I have been watching their 12 Days of Christmas celebration and today I decided to play along. Today's challenge was to create an elegant black and white card with a 'splash' of color and the challenge is being hosted by Verve. I haven't played with my Verve stamps for what seems like ages so I just had to give it a try, so I pulled out my Grateful Elegance stamp set and got to work. I decided to make a thank you card with a splash of red, hope you like today's creation!

Its Getting Hot in Here

That's right its another wonderful Pretties Wednesday! Two weeks ago Danielle challenged us to use a heat gun, which I rarely use anymore but love all the same. So after rummaging though my shelves I decided to use my poor lonely heat and stick powder. It must be a few years since I even looked at this stuff, so I guess its good thing I found it after some digging. Then I was digging around some more trying to decide what to use with it and I found all my Fun Flock, that my friend was the answer! Have you ever used Fun Flock? I had never heard of it until one of my Paper Pretties boxes came over a year ago now, when Christie was still sending card kit packages, and I found brown Fun Flock inside, since then I've collected a few more color, you know, just a few. I picked out the Blue Suede color, which is a nice dark blue and so soft! That is the best part of Fun Flock, its fuzzy! I mean what a better way to get things heated then fuzzy Fun Flock! So I pulled out my Versamark and heat gun and got to work, fuzzy flocked flakes! I used Gliding By, the January Stamp of the Month, isn't she precious! I not only created a background of fuzzy flakes, but I also decorate Sophia's dress with one of those fuzzy flakes. I hope you like this card, I had a lot of fun creating this card with my heat and stick powder, what a great challenge!

Alright, so it is my turn to challenge the Pretties Girls. I've been trying to find something that could be not only fun but something a bit different, and I finally picked something! Are you ready for it? I've decided that the next challenge should be to use plaid in some way, my inspiration was a really cute paper I found in my collection this weekend. So ladies, get thinking, plaid is the challenge. Be sure to stop by and see all the other great Pretties creations!

The Purrfect Gift

Over the weekend I got the chance to create a card for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #58 and I am so glad I took the time. I love challenges in fact I've decided I need to enter more cards in challenges, not only do they make me use my stamp sets but they also make me look at my creations differently. With this sketch I wanted to create a winter card so I pulled out my Peppermint Cats stamp set, I've been eyeing this stamp set but I had yet to find a reason to ink it up, what better excuse to ink up a set then a challenge. This sketch was a lot of fun, ironically I had created a few cards with this same sort of striped background before I even saw this layout. Hope you like today's shared creation, be sure to stop by tomorrow for Pretties Wednesday, I get to issue the challenge this week to the other Pretties Girls!

Party Time!

So tonight was the big December release at Paper Pretties! Woo-hoo! We had a great time and a new wonderful Cutie Pie was named, congrats to Lee, loved the card! Over the course of the night Charmaine posted three great challenges, the first of the night to create something using the colors blue, pink, and white. So I decided to do something a little different and create a scrapbook page using the rereleased stamp set Snowflake Kisses. I used not only did I use one of the oh so cute sentiment included in the stamp set, but also the adorable hanging mittens. I also found some great glittery snowflake foam pieces to decorate the page, and of course some stickles, you got to love stickles! Thank you for coming by, hope to see you all soon. Hope you got the chance to join the party!
