Off to School Sophia

Here she is, and isn't she totally adorable! During the Paper Pretties stamp release Pajama Party Charmaine posted a challenge to use button and I could not find my button collection any where. After combing through everything I found these cute button brads I had purchased through Gina K. Stamps and decided to use them in place of the little buttons on Sophia's dress. Now how do you order this stamp you ask? Off to School Sophia will not be available until July, but if you sign up today for the Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month Club she will be showing up on your door step during the month of June! Today is that last day to sign up for June's SoTM, so be sure to sign up today! These stamps are sure to be wonderful each and every month!

Patriotic Bella!

I had wanted to post a card for the last few days but I have been in a bit of a 'funk' about some things so I didn't feel up to sharing with anyone, but today I am feeling so much better. I had the intention of posting a picture of the cute Miss Sophia from Paper Pretties but I forgot my markers at work today so she is almost done, but not yet! Tomorrow I will share with you Sophia and today is all about Bella! This is another card I created for Manda's Monthly Stamping Bella Swap with the theme of 'patriotic'. I made the card a little more chic than I typically do, but I love how it came out. I centered the image, but shifted it to create more of a dynamic card, then I accented the card base with some red and blue baubles. There is something about Cosmobella that I just love, and I think she really pulls this card together. Be sure to stop by tomorrow, I am out of my 'funk' and Sophia (with some buttons) is out coming to play!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday Wish RAK hosted card challenges for all of its members, I in fact was one of the 12 hostesses we had. If you stopped by at all you would have enjoyed all of the challenges we whipped up, the rules were simple, use at least one item on your card that you received through Wish RAK and note which item it was. As a hostess I created 3 simple fun example cards using my challenge which was 'Fun in the Sun'. There are so many possibilities about what you think about when you think about the summer, so each sample represented another way of thinking. Hope you enjoy my simple Wish RAK cards, it was a lot of fun yesterday, and if you are participating, you have until tonight to post your cards!

Flocked Fun

Did you stop by the Pajama Party last night over at Paper Pretties? Last night the party was so much fun and all sorts of gals came out to party with us. All three new sets were released last night and can now be seen in the Paper Pretties store and they are great! Charmaine hosted three challenges as well last night and they were great! This card I made from the color challenge she posted, chocolate chip, light blue, and celery. I thought about it and decided I wanted to use some of my fun flock, so I dug through all my goodies to find one that fit that color challenge! I think the card came out nicely, the fun flock really adds some nice dimension. Two more challenges to share, make sure to stop by this weekend to see what else I created.

Stamps: One of Those Days by Paper Pretties; Paper: SU! Celery, Basic Grey Blush, Whisper White; Ink: B00 Frost Blue, E31 Brick Beige, Y21 Buttercup Yellow; Accessories: Caramel Latte Tan Flock, May Arts Ribbon

Sweets for the Sweet

It is almost Pajama Party time over at Paper Pretties....are you ready?! As promised here is my last sneak peak before the release tonight, this image comes from the third stamp set Sweets for the Sweet. I love how this set coordinates so well with the previously released stamp sets, always thinking those Pretties Girls are! For this card I used the cute pie image and some Basic Grey paper from the Blush line. The sentiment I picked to use is the 'Hey good lookin, what ya got cookin?' matching perfectly with all the images. This set comes with six sentiments and seven different baking related image, making this set super versatile. Are we all ready to party! Stop by the Paper Pretties forum soon for the party, it is sure to be a blast!

Bestest Bella Friends

Ladies! I have been super busy creating cards; I only have one more to create for Manda’s Monthly Stamping Bella swap after all that card making! I had intended to take pictures last night of all the cards I created, but alas that did not happen so I do not have my last sneak peak ready to post for tonight’s release yet, but as soon as I get home that ‘Sweet’ card is going up! In the mean time I thought I would share one of my recently made Bella cards for Manda’s Swap. Can you guess the theme to this one? I would think you could tell, or at least I hope that I made it clear enough, but it is all about ‘Bestest Friends’. I used Huggeybella and the cute ‘Bestest Friends’ sentiment for this card. I also dug out my dusty Copic glitter pens to add a little shine to the girls, I think it works. I love the decorative paper I used on this one, to be honest I don’t know where I got it from but I have a pad of paper from this collection and I love it! Be sure to stop by tonight for my last sneak peak for tonight’s Paper Pretties release, and don’t miss out on the Pajama Party tonight over at the Paper Pretties forum, its sure to be fun!

Look Out World

Ironically, I shared a sneak peak with you yesterday for the new Paper Pretties stamp set One of Those Days and today was in fact "One of Those Days" at work. But alas, I survived so that I could share with you today another wonderful sneak peak of one of the three stamp sets to be released tomorrow night over at the Paper Pretties forum. Today I am sharing with you a really cute set featuring Cooper, the newest Paper Pretties character. This new set called Look Out World comes with this adorable Cooper stamp and the matching sentiment 'Look out world, here I come!' fitting perfectly with the set name. I decided I should make Mr.Cooper (how cute does that sound!) his own masculine card with some antique brass embellishments. So what do you think? Are you ready to come out tomorrow night and join the Paper Pretties team. I can't wait to see you all there, three new stamp sets and three challenges, its going to rock! If you have yet to stop by the Paper Pretties forum make sure to drop by and register before the festivities begin so you can join in on all the fun!

One of Those Days....

This first card I am sharing with you features the new Paper Pretties stamp set One of Those Days. This little chick just makes me smile. I stamped the image twice, once for the chick and egg shell, the other for just the egg shell. I also used the Paper Pretties stamp set Rainy Day Friends for the rain drops and puddle to make this poor chicks day even worse. I love the sentiment that goes with this set; the first time I read it (backwards of course in the acrylic) I started laughing. Of course that drew some attention so I had to let me my and sister see the image, they loved it and you will too! The new stamps that are being released this Thursday are a lot of fun and seem to coordinate with the rest of the stamp line nicely. I feel so bad for this little guy, but at the same time I know what he's going though and this card would surely brighten someone's tough day. Stop by tomorrow for more sneak peaks, there are two more sets to share!

In addition to the great stamp sets being released, there is a special going on for people who order during the release party! 'Anyone who orders Paper Pretties' Stamps during the release party will recieve a 25% off coupon for their ENTIRE next order!' So stop by, partake in challenges and order some great stamps.

May Flowers

Woo-hoo! Another one bites the dust! I have now completed all of the image coloring and my second of the six cards, I am just flying though these things now...lol. The theme for this one is supposed to be May Flowers, but something seems off. I have been looking at this card and something seems to not fit, but both my mom and my sister say I am being over critical, oh well I tried. I am working on the friends card now with Huggyabella, I just love this stamp but it has so many little details that were driving me crazy. The little bits in images are pretty hard to color using Copic markers, even though the images are more vibrant, they sometimes take a lot more work due to ink bleeding. Hope you enjoy this Flowahbella card, she was one of my first Bellas and she is just too cute! I should be posting another card tomorrow, so stop by!

Not good...

Recently I have been a horrible swapper. I keep signing up for swaps without finishing the ones I am already in. I have posted several times before about Manda's monthly bella swap on SCS. I started out strong then it went down hill from there, I was late for the last two months and I feel horribly about it. Today I finally finished one of the six cards I need to send out and I think it turned out nicely. The problem I have with Bella cards is that I am too picky when I color in the images, I start out coloring and if I don't like it I trash it. Not the best thing to do with that many cards that need to go out, so now 1 down, 3 different main images are colored and they are all mounted. I need to pick two more Bellas to color in and get started on those...then I have a Gina K. Swap and a Gruffies Swap....talk about in over my head! So you should be seeing cards from all sorts of companies posted here as I complete these swap cards. Stay tuned!

Lovebug Window

So here it is the card I created for this weeks Paper Pretties Wednesday. This challenge was issued by Christie the mastermind behind Paper Pretties and is all about acrylic. As I said earlier I love to create magic cards with acrylic sheets, but since they were missing I decided to create a window card instead. I used my Scor-Pal to create diagonal score line accross the face of the card then I pulled out my Cuttlebug and my Rectanglar Nestabilities to create this lovely little window. Then I stamped this little buggie from the Love Bug stamp set. Most cards with this stamp feature both Mr. and Mrs. Wade E. Bug, but I thought Mrs. Bug has been in the background for far too long, she deserved a spot front and center. To finish off the card I added the one of the big brads from my Paper Pretties Bella Box to two sizes of Prima flowers to create a layered effect and added the included sentiment 'Be My Lovebug'. What do you think about the picture? I got home while it was still light out so I took this shot off the back yard deck. I love natural light if possible for my pictures. Enjoy ladies!
Stamps: Love Bug from Paper Pretties; Paper: SU Whisper White, PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Lemon Tart; Ink: Noir Black, G24 Willow, Y000 Pale Lemon, Y11 Pale Yellow, Y13 Lemon Yellow, Y38 Honey, YR61 Yellowish Skin Pink; Embellishments: Prima Flowers, Jumbo Brad

Oh My....

So I already know what you’re thinking….where is that card she promised us? Well, after some issues I did create a card using plastic, note I say plastic…I can not find my acrylic sheets anywhere! I have an entire pad full of acrylic sheets and I can’t find it at all. I spent at least two hours tearing apart my room to no avail. I did finally use a clear card envelope for my acrylic, but it wasn’t thick enough for the magic card I had planned. Then once the card was done I couldn’t find my camera, it wasn’t in the case where I leave it, so after searching some more then I gave up and went to bed. Of course this morning while I was getting ready for work my camera was found! Someone in my family borrowed it for my brother’s baseball game. Once I get home tonight I am going to take a picture and post the card, it came out cute, but unfortunately not what I had planned for the challenge. Once I find the acrylic sheets I will make a magic card and it will be wonderful! Until later, have a lovely day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I wanted to wish you all a very Happy Mother's Day! Today I got up and made my mom waffles with all sorts of berries plus I picked up some berry syrup as well to make the meal complete. Afterwards I spent some time with her in the garden. We were planning where we will be adding more plants to fill up those empty spots that happen every year with some perennials. My brother and sister went with Mom to Blockbuster to distract her while I picked up her gifts....an hour massage and a pedicure! A little bit of pampering is what she needs! I also created this card while she was gone, a bit last minute, but I love how it turned out!The paper and ribbon is from PaperTrey and the stamp sets both come from Gina K. Stamps, isn't it too cute! We went to an early dinner and when we got home my sister unveiled the cake she got for us, over cake we pulled out all her gifts and she loved this card. I have been looking at these stamp set since they arrived and I finally got to ink them up! The sets I used were Just So Hippy and Hip Hop Accessories from the Melanie Muenchinge line available from Gina K. Designs I hope your Mother's Day was as wonderful as mine!

Pretties Wednesday!

So this Wednesday the challenge is to make a masculine card...OMG! Do you know how hard that is with these stamps?! So I pulled out my Look Who's Perky stamp set from Paper Pretties and got stamping. While I was trying to decide which stamps to use I noticed that there were only two images in the set that I had yet to ink up. We can't have that now can we so I inked up those poor deprived stamps. I tried to stick to the browns and greens with this card adding in a little garnet and a small amount of teal to wrap up the color scheme. While this card was a challenge but I really like the way this card came out, a little more masculine then most of my cards, but I think it works. Hope you enjoy!
Stamps: Look Who's Perky from Paper Pretties; Paper: Taken With Teal, We R Memories Bobo Chic Funky Fix , Whisper White; Ink: BG10 Cool Shadow, E31 Brick Beige, E47 Dark Brown, R39 Garnet, YG03 Yellow Green; Accessories: Giga Scallop Oval Punch, Mega Oval Punch

Out on a Limb

One of my coworkers asked me to create a card for their Wife for Mother's Day and he wanted the card to be large. Sorry the image is so poor, I brought it to work and took a picture there, which was obviously a bad idea. I used the PaperTrey stamp set Out on a Limb and Gina K. Stamps sentiment 'Happy Mother's Day' that was part of the Kindred Greetings For Her. I like how this came out, he wanted a simple card that was mostly white, with accents of some colors. I went with PaperTrey's Sweet Blush for the light colors. The ribbon that flanks the side of the card over the binding I created (it holds together two sheets of 8.5 x 11 Bazzil cardstock) is from May Arts. Hope you enjoy the card, sorry I haven't posted, I am taking on a new task at work as an Assistant Manager in the region I work for so I have had little time to stamp, but hopefully I can attempt the Pretties Wednesday challenge tomorrow!

Tilda

I still have a large amount of stamps that I have yet to ink up, but I am trying to get those images stamped out as much as I can. I colored in this adorable Tilda from Magnolia Stamps on Monday and it has taken until now to actually complete this card, but its done! I used some of the cute Prima flowers that I own and never seem to use as well as one of the new sets from PaperTrey Garden of Life for the background on this card. I love how this card came out, not colors I typically use but they really seem to work well together. I also love how my shading really came out on this card, I seem to be improving on my Copic marker skills and I am thrilled. Like anything practice makes perfect, so maybe one day I will reach near perfect with these markers. I have been asked by a few people where I get my Copics from so I thought I would let you know. I joined Gina K. Copic club, from which I a getting the entire Copic Ciao Box "D". I have also ordered some of the Copic Sketch markers from electricPaperie, eBay (not my favorite but typically cheaper), and most recently my Copic Ciao markers have been coming from Hanna Stamps. There are many places to order these markers from, but I try to look for the larger varieties and the best price, if I am close with an order to be eligible for free shipping I look around...always a sucker for free shipping. Have a great one all!
Stamps: Tilda from Magnolia Stamps, Garden of Life from PaperTrey; Paper: SU! Pretty in Pink, PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI White; Ink: Noir Black, E00 Skin White, E31 Brick Beige, V000 Pale Health, YR61 Yellowish Skin Pink; Accessories: Pink Brads, Pale Orange Brads, Pink and Orange Primas

Hanna Travels

Last night was the Hanna Stamps release party, I had plans of grandeur in creating a wonderful card for the challenge that was issued, but I ran out of time! I got home last night at 6:40 and had 20 minutes to create and post a card, oh my! I pulled out the colors for the challenge and got to coloring this Traveling Hanna image, which is pretty cute, only to find that my camera wasn’t working! EEEK! I had no idea what the problem was, before I knew it there was no more time and my camera was not cooperating. I went down and had dinner only to come back and find that I had been charging the camera battery and didn’t replace it in the camera…silly me! So by the time the party started I was able to take a picture and post the card I created, I love how I colored in this Hanna, but I don’t like the base at all, its just too simple and plain, but I had to try to create a card to be done in time. The party was a lot of fun and I ordered a few stamps, I mean how could I not order a stamp or two with those images!
